This is good. I'd prefer a plain, unbranded wood plyo box. Companies are in the habit of putting their name/logo as large as possible, making the box as ugly as possible. The best box would be: Unfinished - allowing the client to stain if desired. Edge banding - would make the box look twice as good. Pilot holes on the inner edges to prevent splitting. Ability to ship flat. One criticism is it looks like an excessive number of screws were used. Only 36 screws are really needed.
Hello I already did 5 Plyo boxes using the step by step plan from your website. Are you sure that the box (mainly the upper part - height 60 cm) will resist when a 90 kg person steps on it with 2 Kettelbel 40 kg? What is max load that the box can hold? Doing the box as your design is, and those materials, the upper part is sustained on side screws, wood glue and the wood part in middle 🤔 Best regards, Horea Muresan Hm Fitness
Hi, Horea! I haven’t done any in depth testing to figure out the max load, but it should be plenty string for anything you’re doing. Feel free to add additional support inside if you feel the need
Does anyone stand these boxes up on end, the tall way (with a handle side on the ground) to jump on it that way - 30 inches? I'm wondering because that side would not be supported very well.
Great video, but I don't love how that one side is supported only by screws, which necessitated the internal support. In any case, the average Joe who attempts this project isn't gonna have that fancy table saw set up. I'd love to see a video of this build using only a circular saw, and maybe a jigsaw.
Oh nice! We’ve got a Honda Civic so we are in the same boat 🤣 does your home center actually cut your sheet goods? Our Home Depot hasn’t had a working panel saw for over 2 years
Spencley Design Co. the saw works but I get a lot of “operator errors”. 🤦♂️I’ve marked out the kerf and on multiple occasions they’ve missed. Luckily I made my lengths longer than I needed.

Can you use pocket holes for the inner bracing?
Great build! I’m new to building things like this. Can you tell me what that tool you used to draw out the cut out for the handles is called?
Thanks for checking out the video! It’s just a fancy ruler: amzn.to/3rPuszo

Appreciate the amount of work you have done to generate this video.
Awesome video!

Yes, that’s the purpose of the box being 3 different dimensions

great build, very well explained! 👏
Thanks! It’s a pretty simple project to accomplish and it super strong and heavy!
Do you mind sharing what the overall dimensions are on this? Just want to make sure it's not too tall

@@SpencleyDesignCo Thank you, didn't see that!
Sure thing!
I’m glad I’m not the only one that can’t fit a sheet of plywood in their car lol.
It’s a struggle! The key is to plan out cuts that will allow you to fit in the car and then finalize the dimensions back at home
Spencley Design Co. I feel ya. I’m rocking a Toyota Corolla so the Home Depot guys know me by name.

🤣 yeah you DEFINITELY CANNOT rely on them to make any sort of precision cut. I would leave them at least 3 inches of error
Another great build video! Easy to follow!
Glad you enjoyed it! Hoping we can inspire some people to get exercise in during the Covid shutdown!
Man that turned out great, nicely done and great walk though video...
Thanks a lot, Justin! It was a quick and fun build. I hope lots of people find it useful!
When you buy all these accessories for work it will be cheaper to by new box from the shop and save your time 😅
Of course, but this is obviously for people who already have some tools.
$36.48 for a 3/4 in 4x8 plywood sheet...!!! thats cheap..!!! - plywood is super pricy nowadays - july 2021 - stupid housing craziness - $59 and higher
If you think that’s bad, you should check the price of furniture grade plywood haha. Almost $200 a sheet
Update on plywood pricing...$81 at Lowes!
Yikes!
What about a Rogue jump box? How much does it cost where you live?
