it lacked passenger-side air bags and Nissan just didn't see a huge market for the Skyline model in America(later V35 and V36 Skylines were sold in America as the Infiniti G35/G37). Of course after the popularity of the skyline blew up due to 2F2F and racing video games, the R35 GTR was brought to the American market.

The list would be huge if we consider old cars until 1970 or so like the Alfa 33 Stradale, also none of those companies could even provide 4 models to crash test since they probably costs million of $ 😂
I’d assume most of these are false. The R34 GTR is banned due to the emissions not being fit for the USA, I don’t think it has to do with it being dangerous to drive or anything like that.
It has nothing to do with emissions either, if they wanted to make a US version R34 they very well could've, but they didn't. It's just the arbitrary 25 year rule.
I love how the Toyota Hilux is banned in the US because of too high CO2 emission. I bet the guy who came up with this idea drove home happily in his 12.4L V8 RAM thinking about what positive changes he did to humanity
I really don't think it's due to CO2 emissions but it's because NOx (nitrogen oxides) emissions, which is actually stricter in the US than a lot of other countries, including the entire EU. US standards require some form of emissions control (like in the Ford Powerstroke or Cummins that are used in the F-series and Ram pickups, respectively) or keeping the engine small enough for it to be exempt from requirements (that's part of the reason VW was one of the few that had been able to sell diesel cars in the US prior to Dieselgate). This is a provision from the Clean Air Act , so the video is actually wrong in this case.

Because mustang can be discontinued
Did they allow the r35 tho?
You see, if you try to drift or race using Toyota without proper training, you will crash, what a surprise The same applies to Mustangs.
Its really more to drivers being dicks and overestimated themselves after 10 minutes of Gran Turismo, this is why Mustangs get the reputation as a "crowd magnet"
@@edk1124 The 25 year rule only applies to the 34 because it was never sold in the US therfore it could only be imported. The r35 has always been sold in the US through dealerships

I love how in 1990 they declared a 238 horsepower engine to be "too powerful for everyday driving" and now even your grandma has more horsepower than that.
Thank god motorcycles don't have any safety regulations 🙏
so the Amarok is banned for pedestrian safety but the US allow a Camaro with a leg slicer on the front
They ban a Toyota Hilux for high CO2 emissions, yet they don't have problems with those huge diesel cummins throwing black smoke everywhere, now that's fair
You know what Toyota Hilux are all about right. Everyone need a truck will buy this car.
The reason that Toyota didn’t made a Hilux for the NA market is because of Tacoma and other reasons.
There is this thing called modifications that allow diesel engines to "roal coal" those mods are illegal. Just want to let you know that

Imagine banning a car because it makes a lot of torque
Especialy when half or more of daily drivers have more in their truck!🤣
Or other possibility, its that it has more torque that trucks, so its banned to not make américans jealous
It's not banned in the USA a stock ram 3500 with the HO 6.7l turbo diesel cummins I6 has 1075 FT-lb of torque and Its perfectly legal
It's because of emissions not because how much torque it has
Which also makes no sense because if you register a vehicle as a race vehicle then it does not have to have any emissions
I love How the states ban some 200hp cars for being to dangerous but you can buy weapons in a walmart xDDDD
24 hp, but highly insecure...
i think my dad actually owned one of these
I have one of these and It's very secure because It isn't running at all. 😂
The reason why many foreign cars are banned in the US is because they don't want their brands to be rivaled by those cars and oddly enough some of the cars here are super cars. But they have super cars
Edit: just theory
It's literally just the 25 year rule

Funny that the M3 was considered too powerful for everyday driving, and one year later the Viper, a car with double the HP and even more dangerous to drive would be made.
But that one is legal👍
If I remember from reading online Nissan never intended to sell the skyline in the US and thus they never sent any for road safety testing and certification of approval of said road safety making it technically illegal. Now that it’s considered and antique it doesn’t require the same safety testing and standards

Speaking of the Viper, it got banned in Australia/New Zealand & Japan.
Pls dodge is an American car brand

“Unsafe for pedestrians” yeah I’m sure any car moving 60mph is gonna be unsafe
If it is true that the Amarok banned in the US for pedestrian safety that makes no sense because Hummers are American and they look much more worse to be hit from compared to an Amarok. Its probably because the ban was lifted since, and the research used was out of date, or a little bit of corruption

The r34 is actually banned because the crash-test were not made
it lacked passenger-side air bags and Nissan just didn't see a huge market for the Skyline model in America(later V35 and V36 Skylines were sold in America as the Infiniti G35/G37).
Of course after the popularity of the skyline blew up due to 2F2F and racing video games, the R35 GTR was brought to the American market.

I let know u a thing. In Bangladesh, 90% sporty & super cars are banned because very high speed & high cost to import!
Example :- Ferrari 458, Lamborghini all cars etc.

I like how some cars are banned in the US due too high emissions but the folks deciding that guideline pull up with their GMC trucks
I've seen some of these cars driving on the streets, so how far does the "banned vehicle" extent go up to?
