  • In this video, I will be sharing details about some of the interview questions that you may receive in your interview for a teaching job in Dubai or UAE.
    Here’s a video that you have all been asking for. Here I will look at the types of questions you will be asked in your interview if you’re looking for a teaching job and some examples.
    I have applied in different countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Asia. These you can use to practice so that when you get called for an interview, you are ready to answer these.
    First, I talk about the general types of questions. These are questions that will give the interviewees a chance to get to know you. Include details about yourself, what you are passionate about. It is also important to speak about your strength and weaknesses outside of being a teacher.
    Next, you will get a teaching-related questions. During this time, you will need to speak about your teaching philosophy. It is important that you ensure that your teaching philosophy matches the one in your CV as employers might be referring to your CV during the interview.
    Afterwards, I speak about assessment questions. Schools will be looking to see how you use assessments to adapt your teaching methods. They will also ask you about collecting data and how you use this data. It is also common for schools in the UAE to ask
    Furthermore, you will receive safeguarding questions because schools really care about the safety and well-being of children.
    In addition, you will be asked about classroom management questions. Here you will be asked about how you instill discipline in your classroom.
    There may be other questions which they may add in your interview. Common questions include those about your relationship with your colleagues to try and find out if you are a team player. Moreover, you may receive questions about your relationship with parents. You may also receive scenarios about difficult parents.

    Wonderful video! Thank you. I am a Black American with a MA in Special Education and extensive experience both inside and outside of classrooms. My question is more so on the “Black female experience” in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or Qatar. I’m slightly concerned and am hoping you might alleviate some fears. Thank you!

      Hey Ashlea, I haven’t had any negative encounters with people here or felt sidelined because of the colour of my skin. People here are not social so everyone keeps to themselves- but there are small communities of expats here and there.

    Hi Khay is the covid vaccine mandatory for teaching in the UAE?

    • @Khay_unfiltered
      @Khay_unfiltered  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know in some schools, such as mine, it is mandatory. Either that, or you’ll have to take a Covid test every 3 days to stay ‘green’ to be allowed into the school.

    • @Khay_unfiltered
      @Khay_unfiltered  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Kiswanna, from my experience - the interviews here are not quite intense and the process is not too long. Compared to back at home when I went through stages of interviews and even wrote psychometric assessments. However, in the UAE, they tend to focus on the curriculum knowledge and teaching strategies in their interviews.
