Thank you for the great video. And very helpful.
My MK2 has a lot of fuel in it. Do I need to pinch any lines to replace the housing?

Hi. The line that feeds the engine and the return line (from the engine back to the tank) can't really be "pinched" as such, because they're stiff plastic. You could try plugging them as soon as you pull them free. But as you saw, I didn't bother. I just let them drain into a container. Good luck! 👍

where goes the fuel pump connector? mine was plugged from the trunk like the fuel sender, originally the wire goes to the front of the vehicle to the fusebox right? im trying to put it back like new

Hi. The harness that connects to the fuel pump contains four wires: 2 brown wires and 2 red wires with yellow stripes (in my car). The harness runs back and up to the fuel sender, above the fuel tank. It passes under the round access plate (with three small screws) into the trunk, then connects to another harness with a white connector. Two of the wires--one brown and one red with yellow stripes--branch off from the white connector, back to the fuel pump. The other two wires (brown and red with yellow stripes) run forward toward the engine compartment/fuse box.
I posted three photos on my Flikr photostream that might be helpful: www.flickr.com/photos/200414818@N03/

Hi, kindly re check your plumbing. The blue line returns fuel back to the tank once the main pump reservoir gets filled up.

Same pump is on my mk2 1.3 injection and pump change sound, engine not have fuel. Is pump or one way valve problem, or some electric raley and someting?
    Thank you for video

I'm sorry I can't tell what's wrong with your pump. Are you able to disconnect the hoses one at a time and check them for proper flow?

Where were you able to find the hardware? Such as the rubber clips and the speed clips that went over them?

Sorry, I just noticed your comment. Are you still in need of these parts? If so, I’ll do some digging to figure out where I bought them. My usual approach to buying parts is to first Google the part number. You can tell pretty quickly if it’s going to be hard to find. For easier-to-find parts , I search Amazon, eBay, or big name auto parts sites. For harder-to-find parts, I check ECS Tuning and eBay. Anyway, please let me know if you still need a source.

How did u start the car with no fuel in the box and filter ?

    • @PaulBroenen

Believe it or not, I haven't started this car yet. I've been working on other projects lately, and my day job keeps getting in the way, but I plan on getting back to the Golf Country soon.
When I do go to start it, I'll use a vacuum pump to draw the gas all the way through the system so that it's primed to run.

How is your eyesight still after eye Radial Keratotomy?

    • @PaulBroenen

Hi, Kelvin. Before the surgery, I was very myopic, so I had great close-up vision. After the surgery, I couldn't see small details as well. The perforation of my right cornea created an astigmatism, which caused some double-vision in that eye. Over the decades, a cataract has been forming on my right lens, beneath that perforation. The most annoying effect of the RK, though, is the scarring from the 36 incisions on my corneas. They create a starburst-shaped halo around lights and other high-contrast images, including letters on road signs. I can see OK for my age (56) but I get nervous every time I renew my driver's license because I'm afraid I'll fail the vision test. If I had known at the time that Lasik was on the horizon, I would have waited for that instead.

Yeah I seen that 1990 eye surgery of yours. It looked liked it was very painful like you said, especially when he accidentally poked your eye and water was coming out. It’s looked like he accidentally poked your eyes 2 or 3 times when I saw in both videos. That’s why I was checking up to see how your doing these days. So you said 36 incisions? That means 36 lines cuts they made in both eyes total? You only need reading glasses today? When I had my lasik done a few years back on November 10th 2017, today I have a lot of starbursts and glare at night, due to my oversized pupils that go past my flaps. I love lasik but I have bad night vision problems that I’m used to. But in the long term I don’t regret the surgery. I just wished there was no side effect to eye surgery. I don’t really drive around traffic at night when I get off work, so I’m fine with that. I wish your eyes get better Paul Broenen over time. I couldn’t re come across someones comment they sent you on your second video. I was like really mad/sad that someone left you a highly negative comment about a chainsaw or something like that. Good job on the videos👍🏻

There’s one more shield that goes on after the exhaust system is installed. I’ll make a video on that later.
