Very good, thorough review. You've certainly covered all the features available. That said, I personally prefer to hear gear reviews after the item has actually been used in the field. That's where the rubber hits the road, so to speak. Looking forward to seeing your comments after you've had a chance to use it in the winter.
That is awesome! From the outside, it looks like a nice dome tent, but it's really what I call a "James Bond" tent lol. I was already impressed, and then you showed that rear entrance, floor and all. Plus those fast clips are nice, especially for when the snow is falling, and you want to get the stove cooking. And the multiple size stove pipe Jack is genius. I do agree, taped seams would be wonderful, but price is justified. Great review, thanks for the video and stay safe out there. God bless!
Honestly this is what I have been wanting. It looks like a normal dome tent that could easily be used in the summer. I love the option to hot tent in any season just because I have dealt with heavy heavy rains in the springs and the ability to have a food tent or mess hall quickly really seems nice.
I love these videos man, you strike the perfect balance of teaching the features without speaking down to people, very nice tent buddy. Hope to see u use it sometime! Love ya man your a good man
Sometimes a product comes along that shows a bit of ingenuity and careful thought has gone into the manufacture of it. From your preview Jeremy this would appear to be one of those rare occasions . Like the concept and design looks extremely functional so bring on the weather for your tasting out. Factual review as always but we don't expect anything less from you mate thanks. Bushyboy Oz.
Thanks so much. I am really blown away by the attention to detail in this tent 🤙 be on the lookout for my nortent titanium stove review coming soon as well 🙂
I've been looking for hot tent for a while now. Me and my kid would like to go winter camping. I think i've found our new tent. 😄Great video. Thanks for taking time to make such nice reviews.
This tent seems like one of those well made, well thought out complete units. I love dome tents and this is high on my consideration list as a roomier upgrade. 😊❤️🇺🇸❄️☃️🛷⛺️🌄
I wish there was an alternate mesh inner that didn't have the missing cutout and simply covered the entire interior (like in warm weather where no wood stove is needed)
@@Lonewolfwildcamping True. I definitely see tents that have a boot removing section prior to the entrance, but perhaps that would become a liability for what this tent is meant to be, which is to maximize its resistance to the worst winds, like maybe entrance way flaps on the Gamme would be a liability for very strong winds. Like requesting good gas mileage from an H1 Hummer lol. Because I know that dome homes are specifically ideal in tornado areas!! But yeah I was definitely thinking of just a mild weather accessory, then perhaps a person could just rig a staked down entranceway of some sort. I haven't really come across talk about Gamme's warmth retention insulation. Is it exceptionally good for that? If temperatures are extremely low is the inner tent option necessary for great insulation?
Nice looking tent. When you do the winter review make sure you show setting up in snow. Always interesting to see how easy or not that is. Also will be interested in how much condensation it collects. Thanks for the show.
Sweet tent Jeremy! I like that it has snow skirts, and a mesh inner and can fit 2 adults and still have the stove in it at the same time. Wish I could afford that tent right now. Thanks for showing it, never seen this one before.🏕👍
I have watched setting up videos for this tent and all those poles worry me. I can see free standing can have some advantage but one single strong pole in teepee style tent fills me with more confidence. Snow loading is a teepee style tent as good as this apart from the intrusion of the centre pole? This was to be my first hot temt year but world events changed all that especially here in the UK, next year hopefully. I will have to satisfy myself watching you hit tenting in the snow (just watched you in this tent by the lake in the snow, amazing.
Both tent styles are excellent, however tipi tents require much adjustments to the leg out points to jeep a tight pitch and freestanding tents can be picked up and moved if needed. So it really comes down to personal preference
So I started living van life 3 years ago, and recently I had a transmission line burst, blow hot transmission fluid on my exhaust manifolds and my van as well as everything I owned went up in flames. My insurance won't cover it, so I'm now sleeping under a bush at Walmart. I am already panicked and worried about winter just in case I can't get a place to stay by then. I'd kill to have one of these but it may be out of my budget. Do you have a suggestion on something more affordable, similar in size, and built well enough to keep me alive in a Massachusetts winter?
Damn brother I'm sorry for your loss! Can't imagine losing everything like that, I hope you can work something out before the wintertime but hot tenting is a bit of a trick
Review of the tent itself a cool but I would have actually wanted to see you fire up a stove in there for 1+hour to see how it actually handles the heat.
I've been eyeing this tent up for an emergency winter hot tent for me and my small children, and maybe for solo hunting trips. How is the condensation in this tent during colder months?
Just to clarify it is not possible to seam tape a silnylon tent. You can seamseal it, and you can use yarn that swell up when wet and seals the needle punctures. The bottom and the inner skirt is a uthen coated polyester and therefore it is taped. :)
Hello! Great video! What hot tent or canvas tent word you recommend for my family and me, six to eight people, also what wood stove to go with the tent would you recommend? Thanks in advance!
Thank you. I recommend a 4-6 person hot tent from pomoly call the manta tent. And the pomoly t1 stove or timber stove. th-cam.com/video/3_ikX8h0cag/w-d-xo.html
Great vids as always! Very informative! I'm going to buy a nortent gamme. I just don't know which one. I'm looking to fit in two adults and two children, some stuff , with a stove (T1) but without the mesh inner. Will it work comfortably in the 4 or should I go for the 6? Best Regards John
I feel like the price is so steep that you may as well go with Gamme 6. I will be using it by myself and I still chose the 6, I figure that the extra space for myself doesn't present a problem, however if at a future date I camp with 4 and the Gamme 4 isn't big enough for 4 people then it will present a problem that I didn't pick the Gamme 6
@@Lonewolfwildcamping i am looking to get my first hottent- i will be carcamping mostly solo with my dog. i like that it is a dome and looks easy to set up.
Hello wolf, I am trying to get my first hot tent, and I am looking at all of your videos, do you have any advise to what to look for? A 4 adult tent would be awesome! Also looking for a stove !
I've been watching a lot of your videos. You are helpful. I have a question. It can get colder than you think in Louisiana and Mississippi during December through February. The cold is only part of the problem. How will this do handle the rains we get in the south? Thanks in advance.
It's not possible to seamtape silnylon.. The only thing sticking to silicone is silicone. If the producer was to seal every seam wirh silicone the tent would be a lot more expensive.
For $800 it really should come seam sealed!! Other than that, I looked this tent up and it says that its 185cm (6ft). In your video (which is a great video) it doesn't look 6ft. Could you tell me the inner height of it? I am leaning towards a Kodiak flex bow right now, but I'm really liking this one.
@@Lonewolfwildcamping Well that was a quick response! You sitting there drinking coffee waiting for my next question?! lol (j/k) But . . is that "seam sealer" an actual tape or is it some kind of liquid silicone or ? And if it's a 'tape', what color is it? (Thank you!)
I can't wait for it too cool down so I can use mine with the medium nomad stove... I was lucky to get the tent with inner tent and stove from someone local for $500 in New condition. Couldn't pass it up even though it is an expensive tent. I watched the video they left it for almost a year standing on the side of a mountain in Norway. Stood up well. I would like more ventilation (windows at least) and also the ventilation can't be opened/closed from the inside. They said that they would be changing this in future generations
@@Lonewolfwildcamping I liked that it was easy to setup and the fact that you could move it. The dome shape just makes sense for a winter tent. It should be good for me and the dogs.
