1961 Navy DJ-3A Dispatcher

Took a trip out to The American Military Museum in South El Monte, CA to check out their collection and saw this DJ-3A Dispatcher. My first time seeing one in person! It is 2wheel drive with 2:1 gears in the rear axle. A roadster compared to the ratios offered in the 4wd versions! I wasn't able to get any closer to this one to get a full walk around, but this vid takes a look at the solid cast iron front "axle" unique to the 2 wheel drive versions.
This museum had some serious hardware besides these jeeps and I highly recommend you add it to your list of things to see! All the info you need can be found right here:
