Can’t wait to see where this journey takes y’all! Personally I’ve seen that you girls enjoy NC so much I see you living there forever! But I feel like wherever you end up at it will work out for you!
south carolina native here! charleston is beautiful and full of so much culture, but it is veryyyyyyy over priced. traffic is also horrible and the entire city floods every time it rains :( hilton head and pawleys island are also good visits!
I actually just moved to Charleston! I love it, there's so many cute cafes, places to walk around, lots of history. I think you'd enjoy it, even if it's just to vacation!
Charleston is truly a wonderful place to live! Not only is it beautiful with its charming streets and stunning views, but the opportunities for success are endless. The locals are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making it a warm and supportive community to be a part of. It's the perfect place to thrive. I love living in the area so much. The down side is how expensive everything is out here and the traffic can be crazy.
ahhh i’m so excited for this journey - again!! i haven’t traveled a whole lot out of my midwestern bubble except for florida so i don’t have any suggestions, but anywhere along the east coast sounds like it’d be a nice place to be! i have been to lake erie and also some nice lakes in michigan but i agree with you, id much rather be near the ocean!! best of luck!!
I have lived in south carolina my whole life and while Charleston is wonderful traffic is insane but also on the coast is Gardencity beach which is great and kind of has a home town feel while still being a nice beach location and is about an hour away from Charleston. My family has a home there that we all go to for and schedule different times but even just with us only being there sometimes the businesses nearby feel like family.
I lived in Charleston for a year and didn't like it cause of the traffic but I loved Folly Beach, then I moved to Myrtle Beach and loved it more and stayed there for 25 years, just don't go to the south end, Calabash is good too..
you should look at newport, rhode island! such a cute beachy east coast town
you should try Long Island, it’s beautiful and right near the city + beach
Hey Katie, hope you have a good weekend ❤ I was watching some of your old videos. Time has gone by so fast. I enjoy going back and watching some of the old videos and I’m so glad you are making videos again. I guess you could say I’m an OG have a good one.
as someone who has been in South Carolina for 15+ years I would totally recommend the Carolina Forest/Myrtle Beach area because it’s not too tight of a community but it also gives sort of that beach vibe! They also are continuing to build more and more communities and everything so i would definitely recommend looking into it:)
Charleston is super fun to visit! Lots of nice cafés and restaurants on the beach. If you wanna look around Southeastern NC Shallotte, Southport and Oak Island are nice places not too far from Wilmy!
I live in the Upstate of SC (and soon to be attending the College of Charleston in the fall!), so I am very familiar with Charleston! It’s such a beautiful location, so much scenery and history is present there too! Some parts of it can be a little run down, but most big cities/towns all have their areas that are not perfect. If I had to suggest if you would move to Charleston or not, I’d advise not to live in Charleston exactly, more in the surrounding locations! Like Mount Pleasant is so beautiful and more of a homey type area! If you’re looking for more of a beachy vibe, I suggest Isle of the Palms! They’re both not too far in distance from Charleston but with just as much of a variety in stores, restaurants, and sceneries! The weather over there is very nice most of the time! It does get cold during the winter but it isn’t unbearable (this year was actually the first time in years it snowed!) but overall I think Charleston is a beautiful place to be in or around!
Edit: also I’d be weary of the storms! Just like most coastal cities on the lower east coast of the US, we have our fair share of hurricanes. They’re definitely not as bad as Florida, but they can be pretty damaging too! Also I heard the chances of flooding is really common there as well!
If you’re talking on staying on the coast, Sunset Beach/Calabash/ Ocean Isle in NC is gorgeous! A little further south than Wilmington but my family has vacationed there for decades and it’s beautiful and not too overly crowded or populated. Lots of great restaurants and shops as well; if you ever do venture down to Calabash please try the Boundary House! It’s my favorite restaurant to go to there the food is amazing!
i’m born and raised in NY and i totally recommend long island!!!!!!!! such beautiful beaches and scenery
i live in delco pa its super close to philly and its about an hour from beaches in nj and theres beaches in delaware and maryland also
Hilton Head Island in South Carolina and St. Simon’s Island in Georgia.
Beaufort was beautiful a few years ago! However, there has been construction and idk how it looks now. It was surprisingly one of my dream retirement places for a reasonable price thats in USA.
Emerald Isle, NC or Morehead City, NC are great little beach towns!! Morehead city is right over the bridge from the beach, and has a bunch of fun stores and restaurants! It’s smaller, but has everything you would need!
Oak Island is very pretty and about 30 mins from Wilmington! also I love Hilton Head Island, there is so much to do there
if you’re gonna look in the charleston area i recommend summerville i love it here ❤
I'm a North Carolina native and I love Charlotte! I'm a bit bias but Charlotte/Concord area is so fun!
Yesss I love Charleston!!! My mom and me have been there many times and all over. I’m from WI and I love Charleston so much especially downtown.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am from California, but I will suggest Myrtle Beach, SC. It's near the beach and on the coast.
Dubuque, Iowa. It’s where everybody wants to live. It’s where everybody lets anybody does live.
yes!!! move to charleston it’s BEAUTIFUL and so much history! I am from Columbia SC so not far!! So many beautiful neighborhoods and great beaches! Been watching you guys since Jules and I were both like 10🥲
Hi Katie how are you happy Tuesday afternoon to you and I enjoy your channel and you are amazing supporter
Isn’t Charleston expensive?
Just curious would you ever consider daily vlogging again. I for one would definitely tune in 🤍
I definitely think you should stay in your current area. I know people who live in Charleston, and despite it being pretty, lots of people aren’t happy living there.
You are surrounded by awesome options. Now, Charleston is a little tricky, my son is moving there from Wilmington....again. It floods, a lot in some areas. A lot. Check out Daniel Island, a little pricey but so private. If you really enjoy the old South, Charleston is the place to live but their beaches aren't really the best. But Isle of Palms, love it there, very quiet and clean......In Wilmington, I love the beachy feeling/vibes it gives off, but there is Southport, you still have some private beaches, James Place is an option if you like a private community and there are some not so beachy areas that are still beautiful. I could picture myself living in Southport, riding my bike to the beach, watching film companies film movies (very popular area for iconic movies and tv shows), and still have the benefit of going to Wilmington to shop, eat or hang out at the Beach. You could also go towards Myrtle Beach, there are so many beaches that have wonderful, beautiful areas, such as Sunset or Holden Beach.( Because of Hurricanes, I would not recommend living on the islands, such as Folly. Kiawah, or any of the other by bridge only areas., but then there is Hilton Head, marvelous place to live and visit....... I have seen flooding on I-40 where fish and sharks were left lying in the road after water receded. Stay away from any place that has a history of flooding badly) Sunset and Holden are more family oriented and you can go to the piers and watch the fishing boats bring in their catches for the day. Myrtle Beach is so busy, especially in the summer/fall ....it is a little too much for me.I wish you much luck on your adventure of finding your next home. ........I love Wilmington and I am planning my retirement in this area, love the Mayfaire area the best.
Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island in South Carolina
beachy towns?? Long Island NY is a great option for that!! especially the eastern end.
Florida!!
,THATS NO FAIR..I JUST LEFT CHARLSTON....HEADED WEST...LOL
Charleston is beautiful and I love it here however… if you don’t like traffic I would not recommend. It is AWFUL. I’m talking I live 1.2 miles from a target and it usually takes me 20 minutes to get there and it isn’t safe to walk to it :(. I live 3 miles from my work and I would say once a week it takes 40 mins to get there. Never less than a 15 minute drive. Traffic to get to the beach is even worse and on the weekends (spring-summer time) it will take 2 hours to get there. I live 13 miles from folly beach and it take at least 2 hours to get to their unless you leave at 5am. Even then you’ll hit traffic. Not great. And within the 2 years that I’ve lived here it’s already worse than it was I first moved here. TONS of accidents. Drivers act insane and I’ve seen things I can’t unsee. I used to love driving but it does not feel safe here. Big downside for me and the reason I want to leave.
I love Savannah so much, my brother lives there I think its so cute.
Think you would like saint Simons! It is so pretty and fun
