    Don't care about negativity, I love that she did this and performed fantastically. A lot of actors in horror films don't like horror films - they are not for everyone after all. Romantic comedies aren't for everyone - same principle

    Thank you for posting this. I stumbled upon this by accident, but I'm glad I did. There were definitely some great moments in this interview. I think it might be a Jamie Lee Curtis horror movie day for me.

    before the actual convention, she spent so much of her time saying she disliked horror movies, went out her way to talk about how she doesn't generally give her horror fans a chance to get too close to her. it seemed like she was above it all. even in the commentary, there's a section where carpenter tellsher he can recommend some horror movies she'd like, and she makes it a big thing that she dislikes horror, doesn't ever watch it, doesn't understand why people want to be scared, etc.

    • @FervAnimalLover
      @FervAnimalLover 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      She has never bashed fans. She simply doesn't like horror films herself. Stop sounding entitled. And it seems like you have to make multiple posts of the same thing so you get people to pay attention to you....

    • @CPSlayer
      @CPSlayer 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      She said she dont like horror films because she gets scared easily.

      Alot of actors dont like horror films but star in them because all of them say the same thing...they're more fun to make then watch.

  • @JoshinDallas
    @JoshinDallas 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    it just felt weird in the documentary how she kept going on and on about how her horror fans would never get this chance, but that she will only do it in order to get something she wants from them- money for her charity. as if she's sort of using the fans, when they are the ones who made her entire career and her tens of millions. just a weird vibe i felt.

    PS..I would rather be known for the fabulous horror films I did than nothing at all. I mean horror films put her on the map. yeah, she did other things but she is mainly remember for her horror movies, which have stood the test of time very well.. thanks to fans like us

    wait wait wait hold the phone!! does it mean that they filmed the ending of H20 KNOWING that it was the paramedic?? as if having resurrection wasn't bad enough with it totally ruining the awesome ending of H20, the extremely ridiculous paramedic explanation and it being a terrible movie on its own, now it makes them even more dumb, I can't even begin to describe how insulting this is to the fans' intelligence, the franchise, and most of all poor Jamie who had no choice buy to take part of her own great idea being pissed all over.. up until now I naturally assumed that as far as there were concerned it was Micheal who died in H20 and the paramedic idea didn't come up until later, I just don't get it, if they knew, why did they have the scene play out this way where the man in the mask being any one other then Micheal makes absolutely no fucking sense?? at least they could've had her chop of his head right away without him having the time to respond or do something like I don't know, TAKING THE FUCKING MASK OFF?? of course it would've been without the dramatic element of the scene but guess what?? there should have never been a dramatic element because it wasn't Micheal as it turns out, you knew!! I don't feel right saying a bad word about Miramax because they did give us the "Scream" series and I'll always be grateful to them for that but after this I'll just say it: Miramax, YOU FUCKING SUCK!!!:

    wow, in the new documentary for the 35 anniversary edition bluray...she goes on and on about how she hates horror movies, doesnt interact with any of her horror fans, seems to dismiss them as being fans she actually likes (she keeps going on and on about how shes ONLY doing this to make money for a charity, and if not for that she'd never get near these horror fans). she's pretty unlikable in the first few mins of the documentary alone. totally turned me off to even watching the q&a.

    Well, I have to admit, at least Mrs. Curtis is honest, and doesn't insult us by trying to sugar coat everything. She's at least being honest about how she truely feels about the whole thing. Would you rather have her just get up there and tell us what we wanna hear, and tell us a bunch of superficial lies. Then we would have no way of getting to know her a little bit. Besides, I think it's fine that she isn't a fan of horror movies. I actually understand where she's coming from.

      @@CPSlayer * Having said that, I figured out a way to get Halloween(1978), Halloween II(1981), Halloween III, Halloween IV, Halloween V, Halloween VI, Halloween H20, Halloween Resurrection, Halloween(2018), and Halloween Kills to all work together, and all be a part of one solid film series. First of all, in Halloween(2018), they said that Michael Myers had been in Smith's Grove for 40 years, but they didn't say that he had been there for the "past" 40 years.
      * So I added up all the time that he spent in Smith's Grove, according to the other films, novels and comic books, and it literally adds up to 40 years. He spend 15 years in Smith's Grove from 1963 to 1978. Then another 6 years from 1989 to 1995. Then he spent another 18 years there from 1996 to 2014, and finally 1 year from 2017 to 2018.
      * This assumes that Halloween H20 and Halloween Resurrection are included in all of this. It would also have to assume that Halloween H20 takes place in 2015(because of a police officer mentioning that Michael Myers hadn't been seen or heard of for 20 years. He was obviously giving an approximation).
      * Then, Halloween Resurrection takes place 2 years after H20, and after he is checked out of the hospital at the end of Resurrection, he is taken back to Smith's Grove, until he escapes again in 2018, for a grand total of "40" years that he has spent in Smith's Grove over the years(not the "past" 40 years).
      * Then, in Halloween(2018), when "Laurie's" granddaughter says that Michael Myers is not her grandmother's brother, it could very easily be that "Laurie" lied to everyone about that, simply to protect her daughter and granddaughter. Would you want to admit to being the brother or sister of a mass murderer or serial killer.
      * So I believe that she lied, simply because she was trying to protect them, and put all of that behind them, so they wouldn't have to think about it all the time, being hounded by news reporters, and everyone wanting to ask them questions about him, and schedule an interview with them all the time. So you can understand why Laurie would've wanted to lie about being Michael Myers sister.
      * You might be asking "Didn't she fall to her death at the beginning of Halloween Resurrection?" Not necessarily. People have survived falls from greater heights. She may have fallen on some bushes, or a hedge, that could've softened her fall slightly. She would've still been in critical condition, but one of the staff members there may have spotted her laying wherever she landed and called 911.
      * They would've called 911 anyways because of Michael breaking into the place that night. You might ask, well....if Halloween Resurrection is supposed to be taking place in 2017, why does Laurie have gray hair in Halloween(2018)? She may have been coloring her hair prior to Halloween(2018), and then at some point just said "Fuck it." and didn't color her hair anymore. Feel free to ask any questions about this proposal to connect all the other movies with the original and the two most recent Halloween films.

    But I will give it to her for even showing up at all, even if it was for monetary reasons because she simply could have said the hell with it. If I was there more than likely I wouldn't have asked for an autograph.

    It is so absurd that jamie IGNORE where she came from. This movie/genre made her who she is today, without it she would be pretty much irrelevant!

    • @FervAnimalLover

      How does she ignore it? She's literally making another Halloween coming out this fall....

    • @CPSlayer
      @CPSlayer 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      She literally explains in the video her decision to move on....hell if she hadn't become a star in the late 80s and 90s Halloween would've went straight to DVD after the Curse of Michael Myers

      She's done a lot more promotional stuff for Halloween since.... She's even making another one! So what are you talking about?

    • @CPSlayer
      @CPSlayer 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because she rather does stuff as a fan. But overall she has done alot of promotional stuff for Halloween. She even did an event with John Carpenter not long after this

      What are you talking about? She is very engaging here.

    • @CPSlayer
      @CPSlayer 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      People who attended here said they wanted to shut down the signing but Jamie Lee insisted to finish so she can sign for everyone and ended up staying over an hour past due

  • @cool3929
    @cool3929 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It doesn't matter, the point is, she is in the genre, she needs to do these more, there is NOOOO excuse for her to not do them. Jamie is not sick, she is not incapable, to not do these once in a while is a kick in the teeth to us fans. I love her as Laurie but I love her in more than that, my favorite by her is seriously, You Again. Not everyone wants her to sign "Halloween" items. People that defend her actions are pure ignorant. All she is doing is saying she doesn't want to meet us!!!

    • @FervAnimalLover
      @FervAnimalLover 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are not entitled to her time. And she is literally making another Halloween for this fall, so maybe you should get over yourself.

  • @critterbuster
    @critterbuster  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    She doesnt like horror films and she doesnt like talking about the ones she was in nor does she like signing horror related items so this was a one time only event for all horror fans to meet and greet and have their items signed. all money wen to charity.
