I accepted it. We will never be decent at football. We don't have a football culture/spirit. If we did, something would have started by now. Developing a football culture takes 3 generations. We have a good talent for track sports, jumping, basketball, indoor skating and martial arts. Probably also in other disciplines. In the West, Indian boys are also discriminated against in the football system and England is blocking Fifa from investing in India.
Not one goal scored in 3 matches and conceded 6. This is worse than the 2019 tournament. I didn’t expect us to win but I expected a much better fight. Stimac’s team selection also needs questioning. Apart from one goal against Kuwait what has Manvir Singh done for the national team in the past couple of years? After the last match against Uzbekistan where he was arguably our best player why didn’t Rahul KP play at all in this game? In 2019 we beat Thailand 4-1 and were unlucky against UAE. Where’s the progress we’re talking about for the national team? Let’s just stick to SAFF Championships. That’s the only thing we can win.

Igor has balls, but if he continues as a coach he must stop *complaining about India not allowing POI players, blaming (only) the infrastructure and talking bad about Indian players in the press conferences (!) *no horoscopes anymore *a more solid system, for example 1-4-4-2 like Ivan Vukomanovic with Kerala. Syriens played this way with bravery! This system gives more stability and a second strike partner for Chhetri = much easier from him to score more goals. India can never do great beyond south asian level. Elsewhere indians lag in physicality, speed and stamina. Skill is not enough in contact sports. So be content with cricket and chess.
