We had this for about 3 years and it just quit working one day. Looks like a common problem. From the video I learned never to buy a Galenz fridge.
Same here. Taking it straight to the eco station.
Bought mine brand new for 900 CAD, stopped working 2 months in and barely cools.
Ours is the same. 3 years and done working. At least they’re consistent.
last night I messed with the temperature on my galanz fridge, only to find out today it stopped working. All I did was bang as hard as I could against the temperature knob and the compressor started right back up again!! Try it!!!! I know it sounds stupid but sometimes if even if the fridge is being loud, if you bang on it, it makes it quiet.

If you keep it outside. It stops working when temps go below 50. Because the fridge thermostat controls the freezer too. The freezer shuts down so it doesnt over freeze
I wish i cud remove this thermo and let the fridge ran manually on set mark
Never heard of a freezer doing this. Just went outside to mine and it’s not working. 🤦🏽♂️

i just bought my retro 12 cu ft a month ago and the freezer still works but the fridge doesn't. It is in my kitchen and not garage. Any trouble shooting points or diy fixes?
Same issue and it apparently keeps freezing over, you’ll have to use a hair dryer and defrost it, it’s a pain to take apart the top. I can see these have faulty defrosting but Galanz website is down and the tech support is literally no help and won’t even call you back… I’ve tried 3 times. I have been trying to find the part but cannot.
@Dreammary did you ever find a solution aside from blow drying to defrost it?
I have the same fridge and same problem! My fridge is only 9 month old. I called Amazon where I got it, and they gave me a non-service number! Can some one tell me where to call? Bad product and very bad service as well!

Sometimes it needs banged against for the knob to know where it’s set at.
🎉Holy hello it works! I found a Galanz in the dumpster and used a wood doorstop to tap tap on the knob thank you!
Same issue and the fridge is not even 2 years old. We replaced the parts as shown and now all the fridge does is click. Called Galanz and they ONLY service units that are still under their crappy one year warranty.
This is a 50/50 chance on working, when moving the Refrigerator unit around the Condenser could brake or crack no Good after that, unless you can replace it.
Mine less than 2 years old. I was just using it as an 2nd unit for my wife's cooking side business. It turns on but neither the fridge nor the freezer compartment works. This happens whenever I buy cheap appliances, I'll just save up money for the more expensive models.

Comes with a 1 year warranty right? Can try to refund it if possible mine happened at 13 months.
@CUPoJABA actually figured it out. Got to cold and it want into a defrost mode. Just unplugged it, git it to room temperature, and she took right off again

Mine is humming for 2 seconds when I plug it in and then making a click then nothing. If I u plug it then it clicks again after a while, and then I can plug it in again to make it humm and click. Any suggestions?
Mine’s doing exactly the same thing. No cooling at all.

Apparently they said that if the overload and the relay don’t fix the problem it will not work without replacing the compressor I think is what the guy said, and that has to be done my a professional and it very costly . More than what it cost to buy a new one

Yep it was the temperature knob, I banged against it several times and it started back up again

It's the timer. Faulty timer on freeze / thaw cycle
Timer is located under the control panel strip in the refrigerator area ceiling. Remove the cover and you'll find it
Is this for all galanz fridges?

Don’t but this brand!! They come out defective and there’s no warranty!!

Galanz has very poor customer service. I have one only a year old and quit cooling. Contacted galanz and they finally gave me a number to call that handles their parts and had hard time getting them to even answer, after 17 minutes on hold they gave me a price of $85 for relay plus shipping. Very disappointed in galanz …. Probably will take to the dump and purchase another fridge with better quality and customer service.

I guess I should have watched it to the end to learn that it doesn't work. I tried it and it doesn't work. I hear clicking at the relay, but that's it. Didn't work so don't try.
