Some of those trucks have a serious amount of driving lights : ). Nice to know truckers are the same everywhere, extra lights, polished aluminum and custom paint !

Great video Tommy. Brought back some great memories for me. Ran the A 75 coming off the Ferry in Stranraer from 1987 to 2003 until I came to the USA.... a lot.of familiar names there.i remember on the 75
Hayton Coulthard Twyholm Mcgawn Bros Girvan Tom French Cumnock Jim Yates Cumnock TP Niven Palnackie Sandy Anderson Dalmellington ..Remember them Western buses when I first starting trucking to Scotland from N Ireland 35 yrs ago.. Beautiful area of Scotland down to Port Patrick In Galloway....... and as your comment on the V8 s must agree. I owned 2 over there a 1993 Scania 143 450 and a 1999 Scania 144 460 .... both V8s. Great motors never had.any bother and ran the 144 all over Europe. Way superior quality to US trucks in my opinion
    Thanks.for sharing. Really enjoyed that..

That Foden 2 stroke is a noise we don't hear these days, drowning out the 142 in front of it.

The Leyland at 4:00 was my first ever matchbox vehicle I remember buying. Oh Tommy, I totally agree with you about Americans and V8 engines, you'd think Scanias would be huge in America with their V8 trucks but sadly no.

I wish they would put some scanias in the USA. Rumor has it that they are buying international. Not sure if it’s true. Be a good way in the back door for them.

@@SCOTTISHTRUCKERTOMMY Tommy fella, can you imagine a V8 Scania S series cabover with an American sleeper cab on the back, how good would that be?

Triton, the parent company of MAN, Scania and VW Commercials bought Navistar on 1st July 2021, it's a done deal fully completed and paid for. The brand new 13 litre straight 6 (it goes up to 560bhp in Europe) replaces the MAN based A26 unit in the International line up from March 2023, at least according to Scanias website. Whilst this new engine was designed in Stockholm it is being built in a brand new purpose built plant in Nuremburg, so that sounds MAN to me. Don't forget that Scania did set up shop in New England in the 1980s, but didn't do very well mainly T cab 6 cylinders, but I understand there were a few V8s, and the Mack E9 V8 was based on the Scania V8, there's a huge gold bulldog at Scanias museum in Sodertalije a present from Mack in recognition, of course that stopped on the day Volvo bought Mack.
Surely there must be a market for a Prostar with a 770 V8 over there.

Great channel Tommy. Learning a lot. I have a 88 international 9370 runs great but needs little things done to it. Looking to put it to work in the spring. Is the frac done for now? I live in Kalispell Montana could go north Dakota or otr or dump truck what do you think. I have drove a dump for 30 years still am it pays 33 an hour but is slowing down. What do you think. Great channel thanks.
