Second, I know you are a drum-focused channel, but you seem to appreciate technicality, so you really should check out the whole band. They are all jedi-level musicians, insanely proficient. male? female? no matter. she is a one of best drummer. watch more live video if you don't believe.of course, lovebites is best metal band in last some decades.(sorry for poor my English.)
Haruna was rock solid in this performance even though Asami was struggling with the offbeat syncopation in the vocals. This was not a good representation of Haruna’s ability, she had her work cut out for her keeping the vocals on track.
This is actually one of Lovebites' slower songs, but there aren't many drum cams for Lovebites. Three drummers who do have lots of drum cams on their channels are Yoyoka, Kanade Sato, and Junna. Yoyoka and Kanade Sato were child prodigies and you can watch their development on the their videos. Junna is very energetic and entertaining to watch. Check out her cover of "Through the fire and flames."
Key Takeaways from the comments so far: 1. Bad song choice to show off her technicality, NOTED (it was her rest song apparently) 2. I accidentally cut off the very epic ending LMAO My sincerest apologies to all of Haruna's fam so far and hopefully I can record a different reaction to her soon :)
The video you watched is the complete song, they do a 'fake ending' (where you stopped the video) then one guitarist comes back in with the riff, in the dark, the full band comes back in with the lights & they go one more time around the progression to abrupt END! It's not really gonna show you much else of her drumming in this song, but it is important to 'not miss anything' with this band because many 'moments' will have exceptional musical things taking place. This song was included in a fan-made collection called [harupi360🎧setlist] because she occasionally has an event where fans can gather closely all around her kit & she plays numerous of their songs surrounded (360-degrees) by them watching closely every move she makes and this song was included in that. (but 🎧indicating the playlist is 'hearing' 360, not seeing) All in the playlist has had her drums significantly boosted in the audio-mix. Here is the playlist, th-cam.com/video/YpDd25cTGnE/w-d-xo.html there is one other "drum-cam" among the more than a dozen songs, (Golden Destination) but also is not one of her more complex drum parts, though it is dominated by the "Iron Maiden gallop" that they perfected due to founding bassist's enthusiasm for Steve Harris & Iron Maiden in general. "My Orion" is another song that is included, by request of those who attended that event, though again, not a display of her most challenging skills. The other songs in the list are LIVE but chosen by the fan who edited the audio & hosts the list, or has been requested by other fans in the comments on other songs. 🐺 dreg👁

@@dregeye Haruna is so important for the iconic LOVEBITES sound (supported by bassist Miho or Fami). I saw "When Destinies Align" [OMV] today and set my focus on her, awsome how she interacts with the guitarists. She is awesome, Check out Soldier Stands Solitarily live to see what she can do. Another feamle Japanese drummer you need to see is Tamu from Nemophila. The Japanese music scene is just loaded with many immensly talented musicians and bands. It's the best in the world at the moment.

Yes, @DrumRoast, this link above is to the same 4 of Haruna's own drum-cam clips from the EU tour that I shared in my original comment about "The Apocalypse". A phone or other cam but only showing her and barely hearing the rest of the band, but Haruna's choices of clips to show us.
@@DrumRoast This is absolutely the best link to view to get a REAL opinion of Haruna. It shows clips from several songs and is a drum cam where you can clearly hear the drums above everything else. And it contains part of Soldier Stands Solitarily, one of their fastest and hardest songs to play. th-cam.com/video/5qSivhIBciY/w-d-xo.html
Haruna developed great technique that she doesn’t have to raise her arm high but still creates solid drum sounds. Also with Lovebites speed, she needs to be able to sustain her energy for a 2 hours show. A lot of drummers are more dramatic and animated in their playing and their sticks landed off targets.
Try these reactions:- Female drummers try Alice de Buhr/ Fanny (USA) the 70s ( Try Blind Alley (1971 the beat club LIVE), Paulina Villarreal/ The Warning (mexico) current (singing drummer) (Try Narcisista live). Filipino Drummer ICE - on drums 11 yrs young Lad/ Missioned Souls (try BESTIE - Band Maid/ Akane Hirose) Going back in time/ Current/ and future Great reactions by the way
One of my very favourite bands, Lovebites, absolutely adoreee the incredible little powerhouse Harunaaa!! ❤ May I also suggest featuring Japanese drummer, the super amazing, Murata Tamu!!! (Nemophila)..great stuff!! 👍
many is suggesting you Soldier Stands Solidarity, which is a super song for her, but IMO the most difficult and technically song on drums is Nameless Warrior (th-cam.com/video/Dl29tiJCbNM/w-d-xo.html) due to its tempo and variations.
@@DrumRoast Here is the same performance but with the drums boosted in the audio-mix, also with [cc] lyrics if desired. Haruna from Lovebites and Akane from Band-Maid are the best there are on Earth in their respective genres (Metal and Rock). Other superb, all female Japanese bands with excellent drummers would have to include Nemophila, Hanabie, Bridear, Gacharic Spin and the amazing blast beats of Otoboke Beaver.
Haruna is known for her precision with cymbals. She doesn't just use them for accents and splashes, but she uses them as a whole extra instrument! Also, not sure if you realized, but this song has a false ending, so you cut it off before the actual end of the song.
Lol, she is not bad, alright as a female drummer?? Ok, you haven't heard her serious double bass, and fills. You are just talking about what you don't know. lol

Yoyoka and Kanade Sato were child prodigies and you can watch their development on the their videos. Junna is very energetic and entertaining to watch. Check out her cover of "Through the fire and flames."
yes sir I've already reacted to Junna on my channel but the others are in the process..gonna upload some more today...THANK you for the great recs!!!
Key Takeaways from the comments so far:
1. Bad song choice to show off her technicality, NOTED (it was her rest song apparently)
2. I accidentally cut off the very epic ending LMAO
My sincerest apologies to all of Haruna's fam so far and hopefully I can record a different reaction to her soon :)
Here is the playlist, th-cam.com/video/YpDd25cTGnE/w-d-xo.html
there is one other "drum-cam" among the more than a dozen songs, (Golden Destination) but also is not one of her more complex drum parts, though it is dominated by the "Iron Maiden gallop" that they perfected due to founding bassist's enthusiasm for Steve Harris & Iron Maiden in general.
"My Orion" is another song that is included, by request of those who attended that event, though again, not a display of her most challenging skills.
The other songs in the list are LIVE but chosen by the fan who edited the audio & hosts the list, or has been requested by other fans in the comments on other songs.

LMAO omg I'm so ignorant that totally missed it, thank YOU so much for this awesome lore and links!!!!!!!!!!

@@DrumRoast Here is a new (4-days ago) upload of "Break The Wall" with the drums boosted in the mix: th-cam.com/video/YxW6hzp8UFk/w-d-xo.html
Same performance as in the above list but with the drums isolated, then boosted. (I confess, the audio editing of this collection [harupi360🎧setlist] is on another channel of mine 😉).
I'd also like to say that every song is 'worthy' and every commenter's info & suggestions are most likely accurate. This is a unique band worthy of the attention! Aside from their stellar composing, arranging & musicianship, their lyrics are mostly positive & uplifting, a major attraction for me.
@@dregeye Haruna is so important for the iconic LOVEBITES sound (supported by bassist Miho or Fami). I saw "When Destinies Align" [OMV] today and set my focus on her, awsome how she interacts with the guitarists. But there are so many songs as example, I remember her in "Set The World On Fire" and "A Frozen Serenade"... and many more.
She is awesome, Check out Soldier Stands Solitarily live to see what she can do. Another feamle Japanese drummer you need to see is Tamu from Nemophila. The Japanese music scene is just loaded with many immensly talented musicians and bands. It's the best in the world at the moment.
yes sir Kevin I need to add my Japanese playlist to the description which covers Akane :))))
@@DrumRoast Try Missioned Souls from The Philippines. They have a 10 year old drummer, He may be 11 now. He's solid. Also check out Nandi from the U.K. playing with The Foo Fighters.
Haruna is my favorite drummer . ❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤
If you really want to see just how good the 4'9 human metronome known as The Little Big Engine Haruna is, have a watch of this mix from 2024. I think you'll have to rethink your assessment of her, especially when you said she is a bit stiff lol, you have no idea how technical and skilled she is 😂😂😂
th-cam.com/video/5qSivhIBciY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dTHw8nIr_2vLhoXS
Yes, @DrumRoast, this link above is to the same 4 of Haruna's own drum-cam clips from the EU tour that I shared in my original comment about "The Apocalypse". A phone or other cam but only showing her and barely hearing the rest of the band, but Haruna's choices of clips to show us.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 thanks for the link!!! I'll def check it out...
"A lot of drummers are more dramatic and animated" AGREED...waste of energy LOL
Haruna and Akane are friends
that's wholesome...hoping for drum solo collab between them someday :)))
Haruna 👏👏👏👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
👏👏👏👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘👏👏👏👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Try these reactions:- Female drummers try Alice de Buhr/ Fanny (USA) the 70s ( Try Blind Alley (1971 the beat club LIVE),
Paulina Villarreal/ The Warning (mexico) current (singing drummer) (Try Narcisista live).
Filipino Drummer ICE - on drums 11 yrs young Lad/ Missioned Souls (try BESTIE - Band Maid/ Akane Hirose)
Going back in time/ Current/ and future
Great reactions by the way
Weird choice song to react, this was one of their "relax" song. Try "Nameless Warrior" and focus on her cymbals accents.
😂😂😂 yessir a very relaxing song...thanks for the rec!!!
Best and cutest drummer ! I'm very lucky because I saw Lovebites live 6 months ago in Europe ! I ❤ Bites so much !
uwu one of the best!!!! ❤❤❤
One of my very favourite bands, Lovebites, absolutely adoreee the incredible little powerhouse Harunaaa!! ❤ May I also suggest featuring Japanese drummer, the super amazing, Murata Tamu!!! (Nemophila)..great stuff!! 👍
your comment is so positive and wholesome I appreciate ya Kevin!!!!
Hey, thanks man!! I love what your doing, featuring drummers from all over, I appreciate u right back!!! 🏆 🌟
many is suggesting you Soldier Stands Solidarity, which is a super song for her, but IMO the most difficult and technically song on drums is Nameless Warrior (th-cam.com/video/Dl29tiJCbNM/w-d-xo.html) due to its tempo and variations.
omg thanks for the link!!!!
@@DrumRoast Here is the same performance but with the drums boosted in the audio-mix, also with [cc] lyrics if desired. It is a song about the departure of their founding bassist and their promise to "resurrect" in future. This is the fulfillment of that "Resurrection":
th-cam.com/video/jYrvuM5bds4/w-d-xo.html
THANK
Haruna from Lovebites and Akane from Band-Maid are the best there are on Earth in their respective genres (Metal and Rock). Other superb, all female Japanese bands with excellent drummers would have to include Nemophila, Hanabie, Bridear, Gacharic Spin and the amazing blast beats of Otoboke Beaver.
thanks again, those names have come up very often in the other comments :))))
Haruna is known for her precision with cymbals. She doesn't just use them for accents and splashes, but she uses them as a whole extra instrument! Also, not sure if you realized, but this song has a false ending, so you cut it off before the actual end of the song.
yes sir I screwed up...not the first time on this channel either...that's my bad :(
Lol, she is not bad, alright as a female drummer?? Ok, you haven't heard her serious double bass, and fills. You are just talking about what you don't know. lol
yea bad pick for a song on my part 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@DrumRoastThe piece you chose is just a fun stuff for having interaction with the audience. Well, my suggestion, would be Soldier Stands Solitarily which is a very fast piece. th-cam.com/video/30yWisiRBuM/w-d-xo.html. I personally like this heavyness of The Bell In The Jail, a short piece but I like it. th-cam.com/video/CsSSkGZ15WM/w-d-xo.html
Haruna the little big engine, there's nothing stopping this Queen
🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤
One thing, of many, I admire about Haruna is her creative use of cymbals. And she has a lot of them. You only see a bit of her creativity in this video.
yes I noticed...have 1 drum cam reaction coming up after this :))) thank you!!!
Dude you haven't seen anything yet. Look at more of their stuff. Her double bass is super fast and tight!
double bass is def pretty sick so far
You apparently haven't seen Harupi in a live concert , she is like AKANE from BAND MAID , she has been clocked at over 300 bpm ! she played for 3 hours straight in their 10th Anniversary concert in Yokohama , 😂
300 BPM??????????????? I'm sorry I need to sell my drums now 😭😭😭
@DrumRoast yes , pretty much , her nickname is Gorilla ! and she lives on Bananas & can eat over 30 bowls of Ramen in one setting ! most men are outta their league if trying to compete against AKANE ,
30 bowls of Ramen...I'm done!!!! 😁😁😁
@DrumRoast yeah , absolutely done , Hahaha
This is the easy stuff for Haruna, so she can take a brake! Just a hard rock song, the rest of the concert is power metal!
❤❤❤
Harupi !!! 🤘🤘🤘
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
💯 ❤🔥👍👍👍

R u familiar with Drummer Ami Kim?
yes sir Joe have had some requests of her a while back :)
yes I've gotten some requests for her a while back Joe, thanks for the rec :)
She can hit just as hard as any man. This was really the wrong song to show off her talents. Do your research it's all there including more drum cams!
yep many have said the same...doin more research now :)))
Senri is the greatest!
Senri vs Haruna...comparison time? LOL
@@DrumRoast It's hard to decide who's better...it's about taste. I like Senri's more delicate touch. Her wrists are magical

Morita has been added :))) very excited!!!
