first of all YOUR SKIN!!! ITs gotten so clearrrr. Love how your hair is flourishing. Mine is currently dry AF lol so this video inspired me to take care of it better
Wow your hair has grown so much. I remeber watching you when your hair was relaxed and now you are natural. Do you think beimg natural has affected your growth rate?
Love itttt! I love the décor of your room but I don't mind if you do your videos in your room or the bathroom to offer a different scenery. Your hair has definitely grown so much. I'm the same way with my natural hair when I do straighten it. It'll be down for like 2-3 days then I put it in a low ponytail or bun. lol
Hi Charisse, I see that you wear your hair in a bun at times which I also do quiet regularly, but I've noticed breakage within my crown area. Please can I ask how you avoid this from happening, besides regularly keeping your hair moisturised? As well as if you use a specific hair band which may help to prevent breakage...thank you in advance for any help.
alana christine Great idea, thank you for the suggestion! I just need to see if I can find satin hair scrunchies where I live! Thank you for your reply
I just bought 10 black satin hair scrunchies on amazon for $11! Also, I get my hair clips (which are actually very simple and cute) from my local dollar tree. They're pretty durable considering that I have very thick hair! Hope that helps!
alana christine Thank you hun, that is really helpful...I'll try amazon us although I'm in London so hopefully they will ship to me!!! But if not, I'll ask some family members in the states to send some over in the post!!! hehe! Thank you again hun, really appreciate it :) Have a blessed day & Merry Christmas in advance.
I can give you my personal reasons to do so. By deep conditioning before shampooing I'm actually protecting my hair from shampoo. Shampoo can be very drying, specially on the ends, so if you deep condition first you create an extra barrier and instead of taking the good stuff out of your hair the shampoo only takes the deep conditioner away. Im not sure if I'm making sense tho? So I'll try to explain in another way. Imagine you have a bag (your hair) of candies. Whenever your son (shampoo) comes to your house he eats some candies. Now, because you have diabetes (damaged hair, let's say, although with healthy hair works the same, it just shows faster on damaged hair) you can never have less than 2 candies in your bag. Your bag has 10 candies. Your son comes and eats 5. So just to be sure when he goes away you add two bars (deep conditioner) to the bag after he's gone. Now your bag has 5 candies and 2 bars. Instead you can add the bars to the bag before your son comes, and instead of 5 candies he will eat the 2 bars and 2 candies, leaving you with 8 candies... Is this metaphor understandable enough? I'm struggling to get my ideas to pass on 😂 to conclude: it helps some of us retain more moisture than the other way round. Try it out and see for yourself!
So I've got a genuine question & if anyone including Charisse could please reply I'd be grateful...so I'm asking do I need to change my diet completely in order to obtain growth & being able to retain length? Because my hair has not moved from it's current length which is just below shoulder length for many years & I'm starting to wonder if this is the longest it will get. Thanks for any reply. x
Changing your diet could definitely help , but It sounds more like it could be something in your routine or how you maintain your hair . So if you change your diet and not your routine , you may still not see length . Since you say you’ve at least gotten pass neck length , it could be friction on clothing , not enough deep conditioning , evaluating the porosity of your hair to make sure it’s getting proper moisture , how you moisturize and seal , tie your hair in a scar , material of the scar / pillow, how you wear it in your protective style, or where you wear you bun , etc. These are just some examples , but definitely examine your hair care regimen to see what you can change to progress your length . Hopefully others can add to this ! Healthy hair blessings and best wishes to you my dear 💕 !
Stacy Mike I thought this could be the case, it's just so hard to know what to eat etc as I usually go for convenience food as well as junk food which is so bad. But I definitely need to make some changes
withintheword Thank you so much for taking the time to reply & for a detailed response, it is greatly appreciated. You make a really good point in regards to routine, as I usually wear my hair in a bun all the time. If it's not in a bun it's in two braids underneath a scarf which I think could be a problem. I have noticed that the middle of my hair is a lot shorter than other areas which I'm guessing is from the constant bun, but I'm unsure. In regards to moisturising that is where I definitely struggle, as I try to deep condition on wash days but during the week I have no idea how to moisturise & seal...as in what products to use & how often etc :( But I will definitely take your advice in examining my hair care regimen as well as being aware of my hair porosity...hopefully I'll see growth. I will also try & research good foods to eat to promote hair growth. Thank you once again hun for everything for all of the tips and advice I honestly do really appreciate it. God Bless x
Kim D. When u first followed her couple years ago she was relaxed then later down was stretching her relaxer for long time....didn't know she texlaxed....
Idk if this is just me but I feel like your hair is very heat damaged and you actually have a much tighter curl pattern naturally, but it doesnt look like it since you straighten it so often. Of course, it's your hair and not mine so only you'd know for sure. But i know you originally got your hair relaxed by accident but why would any stylist do that if your hair was naturally very lose? Oh well, either way, I like your hair, and as a relaxed girl who is planning on transitioning long term, I'm hoping I will be able to do what you did and basically just heat damage my hair to go natural 😂

Yes, diet has everything to do with the health and growth of your hair
