    Hyperview came out when I was 21 and I didn't get it at the time. Now that I'm older it makes more sense, it has aged well. I think it's a masterpiece.

    • @shnorglebop1798
      @shnorglebop1798 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m 21 now, I got into Title Fight in my senior year of high school. That was a little over 3 years ago now, I was like 18. I ended up learning about them after getting into a band called Remo Drive, and their earlier material was really influenced by Title Fight. I thought it was amazing, and after checking out Title Fight themselves, I was simply blown away. I never listened to something that felt so perfect. I was going through a lot at the time and I feel like I really did discover them at a time where I needed it. Their lyrics and sound really resonated with me in this way I couldn’t describe, and they continue to even today. I think the first song I ever heard by them was Head In The Ceiling Fan, and it just drew me in right away. They have quickly become one of if not my favorite band of all time next to the Beatles lol.
      I know this isn’t really relative to your comment but I just wanted to share, been listening to TF a ton lately and nobody I know is really into them the way I am so I got nobody to rant about them to lol.
      To add to what you were saying tho:
      I felt the same way about Hyperview when I first got into them. It was good, but I wasn’t crazy about it the way I was with their other stuff… I think I appreciate it a lot more now. I know a lot of people seem to see it as a departure from their usual sound, which it was, a lot less aggressive. But to me something about it seems very similar. Listening to Floral Green a lot (that’s probably my personal favorite) I honestly felt like Hyperview was a pretty natural progression. I could hear it a lot on HITCF and In-Between.
      Anyway that’s just my 2 cents lol. I’d be really interested to hear where they would take things if they ever got back together. They were really perfecting their “vibe” you might say.
      If you’re interested, there’s another really good band you should check out called Drug Church from upstate NY.

      @@shnorglebop1798 Great comment, I agree with everything you said. FWIW I'm 30 now, I still enjoy TF's older material but it was more relevant to me at the age you are now. Feeling angst, not fitting in, figuring out life as a young man in a world that seemed infinite. Like the line in Sympathy, "I never wanted sympathy
      Just wanted to be something
      I just wanna be interesting."
      Hope you find your own path someday that makes sense for you. Also listen to Glitterer if you aren't already!

    Floral Green will always be a favourite because 'Like A Ritual' really entered my life at a time I needed it. That being said, Hyperview was an incredibly made album which clearly takes influence from a whole array of other genres and executes it flawlessly. It really felt inspired by The Smiths and other bands from that era whilst maintaining the melancholic sound of today. I can't say there has been a track by them that I haven't liked and they continue to be my favourite artists across all the genres of music that I listen to!

    Nothing hits me in the chest like Title Fight. I grew up with them since I was 16, too, so I am biased in that regard.
    Yeah, there's Alex G, Neutral Milk Hotel, Jawbreaker and Modest Mouse, but Title Fight is the very cusp of angst without getting cringey. I don't know what the fuck it is about them, but Ned and Jaime posses this excellent lyricism. Sometimes I think Title Fight saved my life because I was really suicidal when I found Shed. I didn't know there was a community for people that wanted to let their anger out in a contained manner. Moreover, Title Fight really taps into the feelings of disconnect from society (I struggle with really immense disassociation) in songs like "Head in the Ceiling Fan" and "Where Am I?" Like, it's macabre somehow, and is reminiscent of Jawbreaker's painful, indirect yet specific song titles.
    I don't know. There is something absolutely special about them.

    • @REPTILIA101
      @REPTILIA101 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rashotcake6945 Your confusing what I mean by importance, not the quality of music itself. Id argue theres been better bands but thats all subjective. Nirvana changed everything when they came out and Title Fight did the same thing. No band in this scene hasnt taken some sort of inspiration whether id be musically, sound-wise or there approach to marketing there band. The same thing happened with Nirvana when they became big. Rock is by no means where it was in the 90's so you have to take some liberties with how how big Nirvana was to how big Title Fight is now.

    I love this band, but I can not for the life of me get into "Hyperview", it's so fucking boring...It's sorta like how people felt about Face to Face when they put out Ignorance is Bliss back in 98, wow I'm showing my age. But I love Ignorance is Bliss....But Hyperview is way too fucking slow and boring.....Maybe one day. But everything else they put out is amazing. I saw them open for Paint It Black in 2011-12ish? It was when there first record came out and they were in that not wearing shirts look. LOL. It was awesome!

    I didn't like Hyperview the first time I listened to it, I was way too stuck on TLTYF and how much I loved Symmetry and Youreyeah. I've been listening to a ton of Title Fight the past year and I've been loving Hyperview now, but after having listened to everything they've put out multiple times, I think Floral Green was their magnum opus, it's what I truly think of as Title Fight's "sound" Shed is amazing, TLTYF is incredible for being a compilation album, and Hyperview really is their final form but if you asked me "what is a true Title Fight song?" I'd have to say Like a Ritual, Make You Cry, Sympathy or the all powerful Head In The Ceiling Fan. I've been listening to Glitterer and their stuff is good but honestly it makes me wish TF would put out something new or at the very least tour again, even if it has been 7 years now, though At The Drive In, HUM, and American Football all made comebacks, tours, and new releases after almost 20 year hiatuses, so there is always hope lol

    I think many people missed the point of Spring Songs. All four tracks were indicative of their progression through each album. The last track forebearing Hyperview. When Spring Songs came out, I knew it might be the preview to the last Title Fight album I'd ever hear.

    I rember the moment I discovered their music. They just released hyperview. I had listened to all kind of rock music for years, and they haunted me with their use of melody and textures. I was amazed by the fact that they could create so interesting feelings in simple songs like Safe in your skin. I showed their music to my friends and we have been listening this band for years now, here in our little Spanish town. Good times :)

    I found Title Fight a year and a half ago and it literally saved my life.
    I was drinking very heavily one night listening to music and tying a noose to hang myself. I listened to shed and was so moved that I didn't want to give up. I smoked the last of the weed I had and drank several more beers and passed out with The Last Thing You Forget and Shed on constant repeat sitting in the woods.
    I love Title Fight and I hope the boys are doing good. I thank you for what you did for me even tho it wasn't your entire intention to make music for those reasons.
    A year and a half later I still love this band and I hope it helps people they way it helped me to not feel so alone. Even today I struggle with wanting to end my life but I fight for another breath not knowing if I'll wake up tmrw or if I'll end it tonight.
    To anyone who may read this and be feeling the same way just know you are loved, if not by anyone you know then atleast know you are loved by me and know that no matter what, you are struggling because you are a good hearted and caring person.

      one night a couple years ago I was drunk and feeling emotional. I asked my buddy what I should listen to while I walk around the neighborhood and let off some steam. He recommended Shed by Title Fight, and I’ve been hooked ever since. They truly resonate with a lot of people in such different ways. Much love man, keep on keeping on!
