I think driving a hot hatch in this game is way more fun than a super car, I'v found I can push them more and you learn the boundaries for me the high performance cars feel too fragile
Not only that but the old ones feel like your going faster at low speeds

It's 1994, a young British man, called Daniel, who works as an accountant had just saved enough money to buy his first car, and he wanted a hot hatchback. His eyes quickly pointed at the limited edition Renault Clio Williams located at his local Renault UK dealership. Daniel bought the car, drove it for a good 10 years or so, and then sold it to a French woman who was studying in the UK. Let's give her a name, Camille. Camille drove this Clio Williams practically through her college years. When she graduated and got a job in her home country, she already fell in love with the car, and couldn't just sell it or leave it, so she brought the car with her to France, and re-registered it there.
For the next 5 years, the car got Camille to every meetings, every outings, every family events. Sometimes even, she would drove the car to the absolute limits, giving it full beans at every B-road in France. Until one day she was introduced by a friend to Sergio, a Mexican who works in France for a few years to gain experience after attending college there. Long story short, both of them went on dates and fell in love, and decided to get married. On the wedding day, Camille requested that their wedding car should be her little Clio Williams, and Sergio agreed.
After they married, they had a talk about moving out of France and moving in to Mexico, where Sergio came from. Camille, who had quit her job to become a freelance writer, had no problem with the idea. There's just one thing.
The little Clio Williams. The car that had accompanied her pretty much on her younger years, getting her to places while also a good fun little car. She has become really attached to it, and while she could move the car easily within Europe, moving to another continent like North America means she had to leave the car. As much as she wanted to move with her husband, she detested the idea of driving other cars as her daily.
"What if we don't have to leave it?" said Sergio
"What do you mean?"
"Well, just bring the car there, you can drive it everyday, and just keep it French-registered. It's a bit tricky for right-hand drive cars to be registered there, although it's not impossible."
"I like that idea. Also yes, the car is French, let's keep it's French passport." said Camille, smiled.
So there it is, the-right hand drive 1993 Renault Clio Williams, originally bought in the UK, registered in France, and now is being driven by Camille daily. With lots of smiles, of course.

I haven't been up to speed with gaming for a while. My god, what amazed me was the draw distance. To be driving through the fields and see those hills and mountains in the background, and to actually be able to go there, is amazing.
Sound alike more than "for a while" tbh because that ("you can actually go there") was one of Todd Howard's biggest lines when Skyrim originally released 🤣

They were built well fair play, I was in the back of one when we went down a drop off into woodland, rolled 3-5 times ended up stationery on the drivers door, climbed out through back window, quick trip to hospital, 40 stitches to stop my jawbone from hanging out of my chin, then on my way 🍻
If you didn't die from that accident, nothing can stop you now.

80s and 90s and hot hatches were awesome.
The 90's is renowned as being the worst period for hot hatches.

Fun fact: the license plate indicates that the car is registered in the French departement (equivalent to a county) number 57, Moselle. Which is weird because the driving seat is on the left, not the right
And to think that Alonso held Hamilton in a W12 for 10 laps in Hungary while driving one of these, insane.

Mein erstes Auto war ein roter Clio 1,2L von 1992. Er hatte so eine richtig tolle und schnelle Sitzverstellung und für die Größe auch ein super Ladevolumen. Natürlich hatte er auch einen super Rasenmäher-Klang! 🤩😍🙂❤️
I had a 1996 Clio which was the same body shape, albeit to this as my first car albeit only a 1.2. I regret selling it, to this day, it was awesome and the most reliable car I've ever owned.
Same, mine was a 1997 model with the facelift lamps with the same blue as in the video, was a good car, i still see it roaming in my childhood city where i sold it.

Ahhh good ol'day when car manufacturer actually created some beast of cars! I mean look at the Clio Williams, the AX GTi! the 205 GTi! the idea was simple, a small car, with tons of power! and it worked really well, even to this day it still '' da bomb '' shame what happened to car, now car seems more heavy and has less personality i feel, just tons of crap electronics and muffled sound..
Agreed, had an AX GTi and a GT and they were mad fun to drive but required some balls

i love this car and the peugeot 205, they are super fun to drive, i really love this game too, im playing with my logitech g923 + logitech shifter and it's a joy.

I am just here to say i owned that car and i loved it!! it was a limited number of 5000 and mine was number 4450. Group N exhaust, open air intake and a modified ECU. Sound was amazing.
Handling was also great. Stiff like a gokart.
Ummm no.... initially there were suppose to be 2500 units but then they ended up building more then 12000.....I know that....I had one for 12 years.... best car I ever had
@@pumpingiron749 yes they build a second gen. And many more than 5000 but mine was first gen and had a gold plate on the dash with the number 4480 on it.
They needed 2500 for rally homologation but decided to make 5000. But because it was a sales success they decided to build gen. 2 without the number plate on the dash and some new parts.

OMG look this graphics! This is so real!
The "Third-Worldy" vibes are so genuine on this game they make me feel at home. You can see they really made the research and came up with a almost perfect depiction of Mexico (and any other Latin America country really) una belleza
i felt the same way. i live in argentina and it felt like it could be anywhere from here.
Similar landscapes can probably be found in any country in the world, moving away from cities

Scenery in the beginning looks like the mailman would cycle to that shed, knock on the door and hand the guy an envelope with a cassette tape in it; which he will then proceed to listen in his Walkman and ruin some porcelain figures while Tom and Jerry scream from TV in the background...
From the thumbnail especially (and when you pause the vid in some places), this looks almost REAL FFS! Makes me wonder what things will looks like another 10 years from now!

At the third gear the speed is already way up 100 kmph, that's really something. On my IRL car, I switch to the third gear at approximately 40 kmph.
This game makes 120 km/h feel like 50 hm/h irl

It's bizarre, how the cars (even in the latest driving games) always seem to "float" unnaturally on the road. The mass/energy doesn't seem to behave as it should. Cars seem weightless.
That's because it's an arcade game, not a simulation
That's because graphics tech is miles ahead of physics tech in games
@@Titere05 Maybe I misinterpreted what you meant but the physical technology is quite advanced to have a realistic driving, just look at simulation games like assetto corsa.
Here it's clearly a choice of gameplay and also of type of customer.
It has to be "fun", it has to be playable with the controller without a steering wheel, it has to be easy to learn, it has to be possible for anyone to start the game for the first time and have the impression of driving well.
Look at BeamNG and assetto corsa
Thought the same, physics really sucks. Great graphics, but highly unrealistic behavior. Try to take some turn like him at 120km/h, and expect the Clio to over-steer.

The best way I can describe what real life versus racing sims is like is if you take a sports car on a track with snow tires during the summer, that's what racing sims look like when you zoom out ...

258 km/h em um Renault Clio 1993 hahahahaha. Eu tive um Clio sedan, ano 2005 acho, 4 portas bem bonitinho, mas coitado se andasse mais que 140 km/h era na descida. E o carro tremia mais que vara verde. Pra andar com um Clio nessa velocidade acho q tem q trocar de chassi, de motor, já aproveita e troca de carro pq o carro ia se despedaçar inteiro.

@@PT-nh4rv não pô, é que esse modelo de Clio aí era "esportivo". Bem mais potente mesmo, era um carro aspirado com + de 150cv. Basicamente feito pra isso kkk. Um amigo ali comentou que é como se fosse o Renault Sandero RS dos dias atuais.
