One thing i love about the new trans in the chargers and challengers is how fast they shift. The old ones seemed to lag when you shift but now its instant.
I've got a loaner 5.7 Hemi R/T charger right now while I wait for my scatpack to arrive at the dealer and it's VASTLY underpowered vs the SP. It's pretty quick for it's size but compared to the Scatpack and SRT, it's not even on the same planet.

One big reason to choose a well optioned RT Scat pack over an SRT 392 is the warranty. Non-SRT vehicles have a 5 year/100k kilometer powertrain warranty.
First things first. Kyle you do the best and most detailed reviews out there (MotoMan 2nd), and I love the sound clips especially V8s. The Charger RT looks and sound great and I love that colour blue.
I have a first year 05 Magnum RT. It's at 250k miles and served it's duty well riding the family around and two house moves. I think it's time to retire it for a Hellcat Challanger or Z06!!!!
Only thing I can't get over is how the rear bumper pokes out. The car would look so much better if the rear ended near flush with the trunk or even tapered with a diffusor like Cadillac's ATX and XTS... Anyway, thanks for the vid, Kyle!
The Dodge Charger and Challenger are very sexy and appealing cars but the question of reliability and cost of maintenance hinder my decision on the cars. I've owned a dodge stratus v6 and an dodge ram. Maintaining the ram was a piece of cake because all the work was relatively easy but that stratus was so complicated it seemed like it was made by BMW or something. For example to remove the thermostat you have to take the right front wheel, the alternator and the AC compressor off to change the thermostat. No wonder shops tried to charge me upwards of $280 for it.
+Brooklyn Brewster Well, the Stratus was always a troublesome model. Dodge today is different and models are much more modern. Not to say all of them are reliable, but they HAVE to be better than ten or fifteen years ago in those dark times.
Shaun Rutherford I know a lot of people who own chargers and challengers and they are nowhere near stock.. they never had any major problems. it's all on how you treat it
+Brooklyn Brewster No issues with engine and transmission. The tranny is made by ZF and they manufacture units for BMW, Audi, Jaguar and now Hyundai among others. Also, the motor isn't overly complicated and there are no known issues with it. These cars get ragged on by their owners and still work great.
+Brooklyn Brewster in my household, we have a 2011 jeep compass and a 2009 dodge caliber, horrible horrible reliability, there is always problem, go back to the garage every couple month, wheel alignment problem, tire problem, transmission problem, brake problem, you name it. the truth is that I love Chrysler product, but Its just too unreliable, and I would never ever, buy a Chrysler product again in my life. p.s I got myself a CLA.
I'm looking into getting this as my first car but I'm on the fence I love almost everything but people say there has been some problems like a a/c and dodge being a pain is it worth it?
I am going to get a Scat Pack or RT Road and track in the spring. My only reservation to the Scat Pack is winter driving. How do you think this will handle in the snow with dedicated Bliztak winter tires??? I get about 100 inches of snow a season. Will be my daily driver.

So basically smaller breaks, smaller tires and less track oriented tech? I read something about different chassis? The audio 'upgrade' in the SRT over the RT of course can be fixed ;).

Dodge all the way! This thing is awesome, just hope they upgrade the interior a little or have the option to upgrade it. With an upgraded interior option I don't think there would be much that can best this thing.
Great interview. I can totally relate. I have an '06 Magnum and would love to get a '15 or '16 B5 Blue Charger RT. My differences are that I like the RT front end more and I don't care for all black interior. Unfortunately that only leaves the black with white inserts premium seats as an option.
+9/11 insidejob scat pack is 485 hp hellcat is very strong engine up to 707 hp as what you said i prefer scat pack over hellcat for many reasons. Scar is inexpensive muscle car, very good in fuel 18 mpg combined. hellcat is very bad in gas. if you used the 707 hp you gonna run off gas very quick in around 12 mins. hellcat is good for track not for normal life.

I built both an SRT and a SP online with adding most all options for the SP and maybe a couple for the SRT and the SRT came in around 55k and the SP around 48k. I have time but a tough call at this point.

my uncle just recently bought a retired dodge charger police interceptor, it has the 5.7 and man it was fun to ride in!

You can't change the stiffness of the suspension on the scat pack. That's srt only.
