I agree with Steve Lawson about the comfort we receive from remembering those truths. That is precisely what brought me such comfort in the death of my dear son.

I Miss r.c. Sproul. But this panel did a great job of answering these questions.

I have watched Ligonier (somewhat less these last years) because it amazes me, yes amazes me, when this simple question comes up frequently about whether God CAN(?) regenerate or even does he regenerate...i. e., make spiritually alive...infants, the ones who are mentally ill or insane, the ones never hearing the gospel. Of course God can and he does save some if he so chooses to do so. But, the bible says all, from in the womb to the 100 year old person; they are dead in sin until God (in Ezekiel 36:22ff, Ephesians 2) regenerates them, making them spiritually alive so they are able to believe. I have heard John MacArthur give his "between the lines" bible thoughts that there is universal salvation for all infants and I assume that includes any younger children that is unable to understand "trust in Jesus." All these college and university bible scholars and they cannot come together to explain something as simple as that.
I cannot watch/listen much anymore while 1,000's there hear these who sometimes appear to be biblically illiterate on simple but serious truths. ONE TIME James M. Boice was there and as Martyn Lloyd-Jones also said, he explained that nowhere in bible does it say infants or others that never heard are automatically saved.
See the clearest, best thing ever written on this in Lloyd-Jones,' "Romans ; Chapter 10 (from his Romans series...pp. 258-263...as he plainly, clearly explains what is so simple all these Giant Theologians cannot tell us. I would never send them a dollar...how terrible and what a shame. I only know of a few good sound preachers in the world and they are getting very old. Forgive long explanation but if any believer (or not) wants a clear answer, you will not get it from the 40 or 50 years of bible seminary these guys had...for Christians this is alarming to hear and see. God give us men/women who know the scriptures. I wonder how many read the bible very much at all...but talking and hand clapping they love.

Amen. People whose heads just flopping around, I have seen in my life. Totally dependant on another human. That are NOT GOING TO UNDERSTAND! Thank you for comment.

There are two men who come on these panels and I avoid them, for excellent reasons. I am surprised that Ligonier is so lax or not caring enough for all of us who love this finest of ministries that R C began in 1971. I look fwd. to DeYoung, Godfrey, Nichols, Sinclair but do wish Lawson would stay at Ca. Grace to You & the other many places they let him in. We who view on internet will be watching less & less, he making what otherwise is a beautiful thing Ligonier offers us who have been otherwise blessed by all that Dr. Sproul has given us. (Lawson, this is not the Steve Lawson show.) Pray re that ego. Use what God gave you in learning as your fellows there do.
