During the Oarai V Pravda match, when the Oarai team is taking shelter after its initial blunder, Miho sends out two teams of spotters to locate Pravda tanks' positions. One of these teams consist of Mako and Sodoko, both of whom have excellent, near perfect eyesight. It's therefore fitting that during the ending credits for Der Film, when all the Oarai girls are up on the deck of the ferry, looking out for their precious academy ship, it's Mako and Sodoko who see the ship first. Just watch their faces light up. It's a small touch, but one that demonstrates just how committed the animators are to those important little details. Blink and you'll miss it.
My contribution to this: If you checked any Anglerfish team eating scene (including OVAs), Hana's portion will always be the biggest. There is a joke in the manga (not sure if it's the slice of life manga or the OG manga) that Hana's stomach is a black hole. This is also the basis for how she won the drinking contents in Das Finale 1.
Actually, if you watch the first episode of the series, when Miho, Hana and Shiori are eating in the Schools canteen, Hana already has big bowl full of rice and a large steak, while Shiori, who worries about her figure eats natto, pickles and miso soup. 6:08 😅
In the comedy manga it's revealed that Hanna uses an insane amount of energy during flower arranging. So much so that she looks like she hasn't eaten in days.
Adding on to the poster ads, the one one the left of the Katyusha poster is advertising water with the ice aircraft carrier Habakkuk that the British planned to build in WW2, the poster right of the boko one is advertising a cruise on a Dreadnought class battleship as a cruise ship
@1tiercel and the ocean liner camo was the winner of weegee's camo contest. in fact, i was inspired by that camo to submit a cruise ship-inspired theme for the following helena camo contest hahahahaha
I rewatched 'Der Film' yesterday and I've found another 'Thing you may have missed.' Towards the end of the opening friendly match the combined Oarai/Chihatan force chase Darjeeling (in the Churchill) along Oarai beach, they come under fire from Pravda's KV2. Its first shot demolishes the front of a hotel. It then turns to take a second shot, passing over the heads of the Oarai/Chihatan team, this time hitting a second hotel. A huge fireball and smoke erupts from the end of the hotel, but if you pause the motion and move forward frame by frame you'll briefly see a partial SOS message in black, smoky letters amongst the eruption.
I just want to point out that whilst Yuzu does narrate the propaganda film, that doesn't necessarily mean that the student council put it together. Old propaganda films shown during the era of WW1 before 'Talkies' became a thing in the late 20's would have had someone in the theatre narrating them. Yuzu is likely just reading the original script that came with the film.
They were called 'Benshi.' Some Benshi became so famous that they could draw crowds from across Japan. They were also known for their somewhat 'imaginative' interpretation of the on-screen action, especially when it came to foreign films (mostly American). In recent years Neo-Benshi have made a comeback in various art house cinemas. The French used to do the same with their Bonimenteurs. A small, personal contribution. Back in the late 1990s I briefed worked as a projectionist for a small, art house cinema. One evening we had someone present an old Victorian slide show which combined various glass slides that could be projected over one another and moved by hand to give the impression of movement on screen. The chap narrated a story as he changed the slides. I helped out with the mood lighting and sound effects. A brilliant evening. Really enjoyed it. Just goes to show, you don't need cgi and sfx to tell a good story - just imagination.
Another great video. I admit that I never noticed the sweet potato picture and I've watched season one too many times. Thanks for the GuP content and keep it up. I'm passionate about this show and think that it only truly dies if it isnt shared and promoted
@@darklord884 I highly recommend the movie. It's a great way to spent 2 hours. And then you can go to the first 3 installments of "Das Finale", each about an hour and a half. And a lot better than most things comming out of Hollywood nowadays.
I think it might not been so known thing, since I've only seen this being mentioned in the wiki, but in the clip in 0:59 that girl next to Erika, well, she seems to be liking what is she looking at
I never knew about these little details myself. It really gives the anime all the more enjoyable and endearing. Especially the "Nuts" one with Momo for the historical fans, her amusinb glare towards Yuzu, and both moments of Anzu and sweet potatoes. All were very charming and enjoyable to see. But many others like the hidden O-I in Das Finale 2, the Panzerfaust in Miho's room and many others I did notice. It really gives the anime so much more charm and character and I'll be sure to be on the lookout for the next time I rewatch the series. Maybe you could do this again for the OVAs, to show us the little details in those. Also, I saw you didn't stream last Saturday and no stream showing for this Saturday either. What's up? Too busy? Preoccupied with something else? Or did you move on to another platform for streaming? I hope it's not the latter one as TH-cam works fine for streaming and I'd like for you to stay here when you stream on Saturdays.
in the first scene in Anzio OVA, Anchovy was speaking that some people are saying that Anzio girls has "spirt and momentum". That was what Anzu and Yuzu are chatting about Anzio in episode 7, but a lot of people missed this because the bad translate some subs and even the english dub translated the dialogue
Anzu is perfect the way she is. No height necessary. Also unless it was confirmed by the creators, I'd hardly call that last one a deliberate case of small details so much as convenient timing.
Nah, they don’t own anything. I’m only using it as a hosting platform, not a publisher, and I retain all IP rights. (It’s different for someone who publishes there as a Webtoons Original, I believe.)
Awesome video, I just have one little issue....... I don't want Anzu to get taller, she is so cute they way she is, also she is one of the few characters that are shorter than me, I can't have her out grow me. 😂
Sorry about underestimating starfighters. After all, anything that comes out of science fiction and fantasy is better than tanks simply because they are awesome and creative. Please continue all your works.

I'm glad to see that your channel seems to be growing. You deserve way more subs.
Oh, I got another one!
In the scene of the clip you used at 1:13 you can see a Panzerfaust in Miho's room... so yeah, she literally has a Panzerfaust.
I just love the bow around it. Probably a loving gift from Maho.
Where is it? The timestamp takes me to an image of Maho near a door, no panzerfaust in sight.
@@darklord884 You're right, but those of us who saw the movie know it is in that scene, just like i8yourdog said.
@@nicofolkersma2535 Ah, gotcha. I haven't seen the movie yet, so I'll just see it when I get to that scene I suppose.

Neat. It's nice to find little gems like these even after you've watched the show so many times.
In Das Finale 2. There's a Hidden I-O tank. However this is pretty known mungst the community

the poster next to Katyusha's looks like one of the girls from the Orai's Tiger team.
