UE5 and game Devs HAVE TO start optimizing, otherwise they won't have a consumer base to buy their products. I, and presumably most people, don't care how good a game looks if it can't hold a steady framerate.

With a lot of people upping their resolution to two and even four-k, and even making the jump to 144hz, it's going to be a high bar to clear knowing how terribly optimized some games have been coming out lately.

It will have to be able to run on the integrated Arc and integrated Radeon graphics. Casual gamers who don't get a video card are what keeps a developer making money. At least on the lower end, consider those as the minimum acceptable specs.

For the person with 144hz monitor 1080p : let me tell you the technology and price really made improvements ! Back in the day I paid a "cheap" tn pannel 144hz for 300 dollars (viewsonic) does the job but crappy color/quality etc....If you buy the same one in 2024 cheap are now ips (not tn) and panels looks so much better !
I know it's weird but upgrading an old panel 144hz vs a new panel 144hz is actually an upgrade ! A lot of people forget that and you can get the + (color acc, hdr etc...) so don't be afraid to stay at the same hz.

    • @jimdob6528
      @jimdob6528 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Maybe. Remember that new stuff like game engines are always poorly optimized at first till everyone works together to smooth things out. I wouldn’t be surprised if after about 6 months nvidia comes out with drivers to improve performance by a significant amount and then AMD will follow suit a few months later. I saw this with several game engines. I was a tester for my buddy who is a developer so I have been through these transition periods a few times.

I got some help in a previous video, so I'll be greedy and ask again for a more finalized build:
    - Motherboard: AsRock B650M PRO RS (don't need wifi)
    - GPU: RX 7800 XT 16G (AsRock - Phantom Gaming) - down from RX 7900XT 20G (it's ~50% more expensive)
    - CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 (it can go up to 5,3k MHz and other more expensive stuff are at 5,4-5,6k, but for double or triple W usage - but I'm not an expert in the field, so this is the main part, where I need some advice if it works with theother main parts)
    - PSU: Chieftec 850W ATMOS (main question is if it provides comfortably enough power for this setup and I'm not overshooting in price too much in this part)
    - Monitor: Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 - 4k, 165 Hz, ~4ms latency - (overall good rewiews on youtube and ok price, design, etc. - question here is if the system is good enough to use the monitors capabilities well enough)
Does the over all setup need some upgrade; mainly whether I should just upgrade the CPU to a 7800X3D as far as I know it's the highest price/performance ratio one and will be still for a while, but not sure how much higher the W usage will be, outside of W usage, I know that this could be the cheapest, but highest performance boosting upgrade I could do in this setup, just not sure if I should do it.
I've just never spent even close to this amount of money on my PC ever and just want to make the best deal out of my money as everyone :)
    Thanks for any help!
ps.: don't care about upscaling, ray tracing or stuff like that, just pure rasterization, high resolution - main game will be Sins of a Solar Empire II

So if you're just using it for Gaming Jason says the 7700 isn't worth the extra money over the 7600.
So I would get the 7600 CPU instead and use that extra money to upgrade the GPU to the 7900GRE.
You could also go 7800X3D with the 7900GRE if you want. Just depends on how much you want to spend.

09:28 My Backup Gaming PC is an i7-4790K with an RX6650XT in it. The only money I spent building it was for the NVMe drive (1 TB), and the CPU cooler (thermalright assassin x90) Actually runs semi-decent. There is some bottleneck, but considering it's a backup PC, I won't be using it often, so I'm fine with that.
18:55 Good advice if you're trying to do an "extreme" budget build, whether it's for gaming or regular office use.

What do you think about the ktc h27p22s 4k 160hz gaming monitor for 400€? The other monitors are about 550€ but I' rather spend less if there isnt a big difference in performanse. For instance the gigabyte m28u-ek.

I have never used a KTC monitor so I cannot consider QA and stuff but from the specs I think it might be the best value in it's class. Decent panel by AU Op, 8 bit+ FRC color so basically 10 bit depth, good response time. At worse you might have to run it at 144mhz or 120mhz if the marketed specs are pushing the panel too far. For 400usd (what it's selling for here on Amazon) I would be happy to give it a shot if I was in the market for a 4k monitor and might comsider getting one to have to sell with builds I got planned to sell going into the back to school season. Nice find.

Because they know that people will still buy the games, and most likely not refund either. All of these hyped up games that ended up being unoptimized still sold well and that's because people just don't learn their lesson. Sure, it's the fault of the companies for making unoptimized games, but it'll only keep happening if everyone keeps preordering and buying without checking the actual performance first.

Hey, it's the guy asking the second question.
I've done a bit more research since I asked this question, and one thing I found was that TPU by default tests their UE5 games on the highest setting, and this by default includes software raytracing through Lumen. So in effect, this is running raytracing without upscaling, which current hardware just isn't capable of yet, even in non-Unreal Engine 5 games. So the lesson I learned since is that Unreal engine 5 games are designed around using upscaling, because by default they're using raytracing settings.

It's still being "originated" from the onboard motherboard audio processor and then "passed through" GPU out to HDMI. So, if you're asking whether a better onboard MOBO audio processor matters in terms of quality, it does. To the degree that you'll actually notice a difference in audio quality is going to depend more on what the speakers that your HDMI is being played from, though.

    These are still rediculous prices.
    Memory is cheap.
I paid $359 in 2016 for the gigabyte 970 xtreme gaming with the titan chokes...
That was expensive in my my opinion..
I didn't want to pay the stupid prices for a 980 .. then the bit coin..
Now it should be allot lower for some of these low 8gb memory cards ..
They should be using 128 gigs use quad bus of 32 gig bus then it will bring the heat down.
Memories cheap enough. We're being screwed just like we are why the rest of the world.
It used to be years before a new video catd series came out ..
😅 But now they're doing it just like car audio. They're finding a way to do it every 2 to 3 years with a slight increase of technology but capable of selling all the new stuff for the brand new price but they're not just doing the brand new price. They're hiking the price up every time now. Sometimes almost doubling it ..
I hit the brakes on building PCs.
    It used to be cheap...
    $500 the hole pc
    ..at the PC club...
Now its almost $500 each piece.. if your lucky..
I like buying all the est pieces..
I don't mind getting them one 1 part at a time..
But with how expensive things are and with how quickly they are upped it. It's almost yearly now. I mean after covid it's crazy. It's like yearly now...
By the time I would get all my parts ready to build I would start looking at all my s*** going f*** it's all outdated. I wish I would have got this. I wish you would have got that. It's out of 30-day return. Mark, I'm not even going to mess with building right now unless I had a billion dollars set aside to do it, but even that I don't want to waste it because I'm already seeing that. If I would have wasted it last year this year I could have got a lot of that stuff for dirt cheap. So the question is do I wait to build the next year's computer or do I build last year's computer now?.
And just pretend last year is now ..
Buy all last year's cool stuff .
But wait.. why are last year's gpus about the same price as this years new GPUs..
I think im going to wait another couple years..
    This is insane...

Hello, I am thinking of building a mid-range gamer PC, I am using as a basis the video of "Best Intel i5 13600K Gaming PC Build 2023 | DDR4 vs DDR5, Motherboards & More!", I plan to use the "Intel i5 13600K" + " WD-BLACK-SN850X-2000GB 2TB disk" + "RAM 2x 16 GB DDR4 or DDR5" depending on which one is more worth it" + "GIGABYTE Z790 Aorus Elite AX" I'm not sure about the GPU but, cooler and the power supply, but I wanted to see if you have any recommendations if is bether to change the build to by more cost efective etc, and if there are Prime discounts Day, they would help me considering that I live in Bogota, Colombia and sometimes not all products are delivered here.

My 9700k has honestly done for what it is. It's just a lot of the newer games absolutely slam the poor cpu and It's insanely unstable past like 60 fps lmao.
I upgraded from a RX580 to a Nitro+ 6600XT and it was a wonderful upgrade. I want to play more games at 1440p but I'm kinda just waiting for Battlemage and the 5090s/5080s. If I'm not impressed; I'll probably get a 7900 GRE and a 7700x/7800x3D (in the best case ever since my prebuilt case is so ugly 💀)

Also yea Hellblade 2 is crazy lol, but STOP GAMING IN 4K! ITS NOT NEEDED! and most of the time its not great. Just because a 4090 can run a game over 100 fps, doesnt mean its viable. it wont be for years. 4k gets pushed and most gamers dont use 4k, 1440p and 1080 are still the majority of the players out there.

3:54 honestly out of my whole ENTIRE BUILD, seeing how much the ryzen 7800x3d price is crashing, given how AMAZINg it is as the pinancle of gmaing cpu, blows my mind. still happy i got my ine for 370 almost a year and a half about but that was when it was 449$ lol. seeing it slip all the way to 330 and potentially even 299$ this primeday nad thne some is wild~

I'd love a 4070ti super for around 700 but ik that's probably dreaming. There's a sale going on RN on the msi aero edition. The small form factor interests me but i can't find a single review on it for some reason.

If Amazon drops the Ryzen 7800X3D below $300, it becomes incredibly attractive even with the new Ryzen 9000s out soon. Thumbs up!

I'll wait for a couple weeks as people will upgrade and want to get rid of their 4070ti/80s to a 4090.. and hope to snag one for 500 or less. (4070ti) in the used market. My 3080 10g is gonna hold the line for me.

I've been seeing your videos in my recommended and I've been skipping all of them because of the red stop sign symbol you use in your titles.
It's not because I think it's clickbait it's because it looks too much like the TH-cam live streaming symbol and I never click live streams.
The red alert you used in the title of your June GPU video got my attention and I clicked it. Today was the first day I realized your videos weren't live so I clicked.
Just a tip from me. Try a different symbol and see if you get more clicks.

I dont think a psu lasts the shortest. it actually will last the longest. but if it breaks, it nukes everything else. so you need to be absolutely sure it works. Get an a-teir 850-1000w with PCIE5 and 10 year warranry, you will not have to buy a new one probably ever for the case

About the comment regarding UE5. This is a upscaling issues not a UE5 issue. Nvidia etc are pushing upscalers so much that DEVS are no longer wanting to spend the extra months making games performant without them. Studios save tons of time doing this but it has become a reliability more than a cool feature these days. So its not game devs per say it the fact that most people use upscalers these days. So in turn studios look at this data and in turn focus more on using the upscalers instead of the old performance tuning, like before. And its not just UE5 either its most game engines, unless it's an older one.
