- ऋषि अत्रि विशेष रूप से ऋग्वेद में उल्लेखित, एक बहुत ही सम्मानित #सप्तऋषि हैं जिन्हे अग्नि, इन्द्र और अन्य वैदिक देवताओं के लिए बड़ी संख्या में भजन लिखने का श्रेय जाता है. इसके उपरांत रामायण, महाभारत एवं पुराणों में भी, ऋषि अत्रि, एवं उनकी पत्नी अनसूया का विशेष वर्णन मिलता है. पुराणों में वर्णित है कि जब ऋषि अत्रि एवं देवी अनसूया को ब्रम्हाजी ने सृष्टि करने हेतु आज्ञा दी तो दंपत्ति ने सर्प्रथम कठोर तपस्या की और त्रिदेवों को प्रसन्न कर उनको ही अपने पुत्रों के रूप में जन्म लेने का वरदान प्राप्त कर लिया. और इसी वरदान के कारण अनसूया के गर्भ से, भगवान विष्णु के अंश के रूप में दत्तात्रेय, शिवजी के अंश के रूप में दुर्वासा एवं ब्रम्हा के अंश के रूप में चन्द्रमा का जन्म हुआ.
Rishi #Atri is a very revered #Saptarishi, especially mentioned in the Rigveda, who is credited with writing a large number of hymns to Agni, Indra and other Vedic deities. A special description of Rishi Atri and his wife Anasuya is found in the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Puranas. It is also mentioned in the Puranas that Rishi Atri and Devi Anasuya, the couple first did austerity and got the blessing of being born as their sons by pleasing the Tridevas. And due to this boon, from the womb of Anasuya, Dattatreya as part of Lord Vishnu, Durvasa as part of Shiva, and Moon as part of Brahma were born.
