Will you ever test the Titan generators from Point Zero Energy, and show just how good they really are compared to these High frequency units, especially the 240 sp. Show people the truth, about low frequency, compared to high frequency generators
Why would anybody buy anything from a company that would treat their customers like this 👎
That's why be cautious of all companies even when they claim they're pro environment. Bottom line is money
The scam is the price tag.
Absolutely agree!
@@bigmeany1184 I feel all quality batteries at this capacity cost about the same, if not more? Is the scam trying to make a profit?
Yeah, that's what he said.
1000 stinking voltz for $999, way too much money, I will stick with a generator at those prices.
Ever price a brand new 56v EGO battery? For just the batteries alone, Jackery is a pretty good deal.
Omg thank you for telling me this!!! I just couldn’t understand why the newer version was only $100 difference and I just kept thinking something was wrong. Thank you for clearing that up!!
Reminds me of the time (a few lifetimes ago) when a high school friend got fired from his job at a now-defunct famous major retailer for refusing to put a big "SALE!" sign on a lawnmower than had just had its price *increased* by about $20.
That friend is a good man. I hope he's done well and been recognized for his integrity.
For integrity there is no substitute.
sears?
Awesome of you! Thanks for looking out for us
I paid $479 for the old one last week. I bought it because I live in Louisiana and it’s hurricane season.
🙏🏿
looks like you got it just in time for Francine
✊🏿🙌🏿🤞🏿
At this point I see them going for $200, just kinda scummy they would sell an inferior product for the superior products price
@@DancingBanana-g1e Absolutely scummy. Boycott.
Thanks for pointing this out. That is disappointing that they wouldn't just do a clearance sale to get rid of the old-style products. That would be the more ethical and respectable thing for a business to do, given the situation.
The old style still has legitimate use cases where it is preferable to the new one. It mostly comes down to weight and portability.
I live in Georgia and we just dealt with hurricane Helena, My jackery 500 collapsed it won't even do nothing anymore just yesterday it got sent back to jackery thankfully it's under a 3 year warranty and I was only in year 2
Jackery has so many recent complaints on Amazon for shipping problems and customer service problems, for shipping used, beat-up items as “new” items (is that why Jackery runs these “flash” sales? To dump their used inventory onto an unsuspecting public?)
so which ones are better?
@@gosman949 I honestly don’t know. I haven’t yet bought one myself.
I benefited from Amazon f-ups and ended up getting two for the price of one. So silver linings do exist.
Good job for telling us and Thank you for knowledgeable info!
I bought the older model years ago on jackery's once a year sale price, and it has worked flawlessly for 7 years, no issues. The price tag is high, but still was a lot cheaper than the Ecoflow Delta (which is better overall). It does take a long time to charge, but I am happy overall with it
family member picked up older one on clearance at Lowe’s a few months ago for $400-500 and now he’s decided to give me this one and go buy a bigger one.Nice having family members with Lowe’s credit card LOL,running joke in family
Great heads up! I use a four year old Dewalt power station that is fine for my area where the power might go out for three hours every six years.
I have been considering buying a larger Jackery system that can handle four solar panels for experimental purposes. I might even take it to the beach and ask some really smart mammals what they think of solar power for the experimental porpoise.
The inverter or some other electronic part is going to fail way before the battery capacity falls below 80% from cycling on either of those.
Sort of what happened with my V.1. The DC input for either connection no longer works. Fortunately, the AC input still works. But the battery is fine and still charges to 100% after some 4+ years. Then again, I don't ever completely discharge the battery. While the lifetime difference between these two is impressive - I'm not sure cycling to 0% is a useful metric in determining longevity.
One thing you might have mentioned is that the lithium ion pack is significantly lighter as li-ion is much more energy dense than lifepo.
Another Beware! from Jackery I recently had to deal with is their so called 30 day money back guarantee. The fine print which is only found on the Return page is the "30 days" starts when the product ships from their California office. Large lithium batteries are shipped by ground service, so travel time including delivery delays due to weather will eat up that 30 days. I assumed I had 30 days from delivery but actually had 10 days due to 20 days in transit. Also, their technical help & support service was non existent.
Thank you! I have been looking at these in the UK, and the older ones are now half price, now I know the reason.
I use my kislux as a work bag and have had no issues at all. Itâs a comfortable bag, fits a good amount and hadnât lost its shape. With that being said, I also take care of all my bags and donât carry a water bottle, pens, keys or anything that can damage the interio
If you were buying in case of an emergency, I get why it wouldn't matter so much. I'm an avid overlander who, unfortunately, needs reliable power for a CPAP machine, so the benefits of the plus model make a big difference! Either way, get the 5 year protection plan. Take care of yourself, whatever that means to you!
So which did you get, I was also looking at ecoflow and people "scam alerting" that as well.
Brought the older model on sale for 45% off. I’m happy with it
Same here got two 100w solar panels with it also. Very happy with my purchase. Don’t buy these at full price, Jackery does big sales every so often.
Where at?
@@SupremeTalkShow420 Amazon contacted me.
Brought it? Where did you bring it?

Wow, Thank you SO MUCH for this public service announcement!!! I was about to choose the old version, because that is what I was seeing in all the reviews!
I just bought the explorer 1000v2 which has the handle and a LiFePO4 battery stating 4000 cycles to 70%+ capacity... Paid $649 with solar panel at Lowes...
Which jackery would you compare that to?
@@worldpeace8187it is the jackery explorer 1000 v2

That sucks. I just bought mine for $450 on Amazon. It’s the version two as well.
this is one of the best videos on youtube. short and to the point and your saving a lot of peoples butt! Subscribed
I had the older model and it completely died on me after owning for 2yrs and only ever charged but 5 times. Might have been a fluke but I will NEVER buy another Jackery ever again
Glad you are calling Jackery out on this. Just purchased a highly rated and evaluated Pecron LiFePO4 unit for $0.43 a watt hour and has a 5 year warranty. Just used it on my week long camping trip bouncing in the back of my off-road camper. Worked great.
How often did you have to charge the unit on your trip
@@feline-n6b just charged before I left and that was it. It was the 1500 wh. Normally charge as I drive from wires off the Jeep battery.
@AlternativePower903 oh I didn’t consider the weight. Now that combined with the fact that this unit will have probably 1/3 the life of the LiFePO4 unit makes it worth it. NOT!
Can you explain it how many panels it comes with what watts and how much does jackery store in a day and how many hours does full charge do? One two? Can it just do one appliance at a time or can it do heater? What size jackety does person get for split heater things? If a fridge was needed can jackety run it? How long? Does person get two jackety things one for use one for charge or does it take three two charge one for day one for night how does it work i saw video with four things sit on jackery how does this work? Do the four take turns or how does it work does it take two handle ones to charge one set one is used then switched how does it work i am 🤔🤔😕🤔
Thank you so muchhhhhhh, I’m about to buy my first power station and this is gold for me, I’ll be using it for my shed
Thank you, as you say most people wouldn’t know that. I ordered Jackery EU1000v2, ir hasn’t arrived yet but am thinking about returning it before unboxing it. I am starting to find a few more videos like tis one and the more I see the less trust I have in Jackey. Now, back to my continued research to try and decide on a better option.
Which one are you considering? Please send link. Thx!
The scam is the thing will break well well well before battery chemistry differences ever become an issue. And jackery will refuse to repair it, even if you offer to pay for the repair. THe whole thing gets thrown out. No replacement parts are available and Jackery won't repair
The new version is way heavier. By 1/3 rd. Because I'm not going to use all the Cycles I do you like the lighter version... that's just me.
The lithium ion Jackery Explorer 1000 is 22.04 lbs. The lifepo4 Jackery 1000 v2 is 23.8 lbs. They have comparable battery capacity, but the v2 has 50% more power output. The difference in weight is only 8%, it's very minimal.
@@guspaz the jacjery 1000 plus weighs 32lbs. About 10 pounds more.
@@diySolarPowerFunWithRay The 1000 Plus has nearly 1.3x the capacity and 2x the output, of course it weighs more, it's not a remotely similar product. The Jackery 1000 v2 has similar capacity to the Jackery 1000, only with lifepo4, and is nearly the same weight.

Hello, are these power stations (the bigger ones over 3.2kWh capacity) eligible for tax credits in the USA? Or these have to be permanently installed to be eligible?
Thanks ! i Had no idea the Life cycles were sooo different between the 2 battery chemistry's. Wow !!! Thank You Very Much for Making this Short & To the Point video !!!
The SCAM is the limited capacity of the battery for that price. I just bought two 100 AH LFP batteries, a 2000 watt PSW inverter, a 50 amp charger, a box to put it in, and a status monitor, connectors, etc for under $500. Way more capability and capacity that that $1000 wallet drain.
Haha that should be a bumper sticker "don't get scammed.". Good to know man. Thanks.
For people who use these for power outages, they may only use them 5-10 times per year. In that case, calendar aging is more important. I wonder how that compares for the two battery types.
Calendar life is 2-3 times as long, in theory. It is jackery though so it probably wont last. The one and only unit i bought from them was broken on arrival and they are making it extremely difficult to get my money back or even send a replacement. Thet wont even send me the return label. They keep dragging their feet.
Super helpful video brotha. Short and to the point. I am looking to buy a second hand jackery 300 with a 60w solar panel and it’s a decent price but this info is super helpful for future purchases.
0:32 “Jackery has done an amazing job at being well known”
Wow, I’m totally sold. 🙃
Thanks for the info and taking the time to make the video.
Could you do a review for the Jackery 5000 plus? Thanks, Ken
Good heads up. I don't mind if someone uses a cheaper battery as long as it includes a lower price. You can debate if it is worth the savings or not. I rarely use batteries, so I'm OK with not paying more for thousands of cycles. It's definitely a scam if you charge the same price for a cheaper battery just because you know that many people won't realize that it won't last as long.
i have the older one which i love and has lasted about 4 years with no issues but my only gripe about the battery is that without completely disassembling the battery you don't have access to the positive and negative terminals which i really wish was possible since most any project requiring a large dc amount is going to be over 10 amps
Lithium ion phosphate. Got it. Is this change available on all/most brands? Is the life difference similar across most brands?
That’s mad! They must have taken note…. On the EU website now the newer 500 is not for sale and you can only buy the 300 for E349 or the old 500 for E349 (marked as 46% off).
Fair play for educating people to this 😊
I had a Jackery panel that broke. Their customer service said “go buy a new one” 😂
Does the new one still take a long time to fully charge?
Family member purchased solid handled one from Lowe’s few months ago at Lowe’s on clearance for roughly $400.00-$500.Recently gave me that one and he’s buying the newer one
Mine (authentic) also has a smell inside! I don't know what's going on because none of my other products have the smell of the kislux bag. Called LV and they said it is normal and I can wipe the inside with a damp cloth. I thought the lining was suede but it's actually microfiber so I'm going to look for ways to remove the microfiber smell because the smell is keeping me from using it often.
Thanks, ive been looking at solar for my pickup camping. Makes more sense now
I suppose there's a use for those little boxes. What I don't like is how so many of the companies selling them imply you can run your house on them for days and days. There's only so many amp hours in the box and you only get to use them once before you have to recharge.
Bologne. You can use 10% at a time or 1% at a time. There's no such limitation to use only once before the next charge 😂😂😂
@@ChatGPT1111 You don't know what you're talking about, do you?
Throw a solar panel outside and run your cord into the house to charge the battery box. Our energy efficient / large capacity deep freezer would run forever on that if necessary. Not with the Jackery 1000 but another unit with 3,000kwh. Even considering a cloudy day or rainy day we would still get bye. If you’re charging with grid power then there is no point to using it. Van life / outdoor life makes sense. For home backup these units are too small!
Yeah I ran the calcs and the 5000 WH model would run my house for about a day using the bare minimum (fridge, freezer, furnace). Last power outage we were out for 4 days.
@@snorman1911 Yup. A day is good but depending on your scenario may not be near enough. It was that way for me when I lived in the country. The power may be back on in a day, or it may be a week. If it's winter refrigeration isn't a problem so that's a saving. But you do need to keep that furnace running. Dad had a little gas powered generator installed in the shop that was enough for the basics. And a bigger PTO driven generator if we needed to run more equipment.
I don't think anyone is being scammed. They have stock to shift and then it's gone leaving only the updated version.
I agree though that they should put the LION battery model on sale, it's only fair now.
I purchased a moto master power station which has a user replaceable wet cell battery which I have wired to my solar panels. It works great and it’s about ⅓ the price and I can replace the battery myself. I also wired external RV batteries to the internal one to increase capacity.
I use a CPAP machine to sleep and having a jackery has been a lifesaver when our power gets shutoff due to high winds. The 240 model gives me two nights of peaceful sleep before it needs to be recharged. And the solar panel they sell works great to charge the battery.
I got the 2000 plus a year ago thing charges fast with my gas generator I still need to get solar panels. But I lkke the plus as it can connect and be expanded. The 1000plus was on sale with a 200w solar panel on black Friday but I skipped it for truck parts have to prioritize sometimes.
Thanks for the heads up.
🙏🦉
Thanks. I'm looking into Jackery for my sister.
Thanks for sharing I bought the explorer EX 1500 at Costco 6 months ago for $1300. Costco said I had to deal with jackery so jackery is replacing my explorer 1500. I asked the jackery technician on the phone why they are not selling these anymore. He said it's old technology no wonder I got such a good deal on it. Buyer beware
How many watts is good a household blackout?
They sent me the old style 240 as a gift for buying one of their larger systems with solar panels. I doubt I will ever get it down to the 80% point. Thanks for letting us know about the difference in their battery technology.
Thanks for catching that. Im glad your calling out company that do shady stuff .
*you’re
I just purchased the same Explorer 1000 Plus and the SolarSaga 100w panels do not 🚫 work. 0 input wattage with both panels connected, but it charges from AC without a problem 😳 Now I have to package everything back up and send it back by UPS... This sucks! F🤬 Jackery
Can you replace the battery in them you ahould be able to for these prices!
Jackery was where I was headed in my choice for a cabin power station, the poor customer service and reveiws are changing my mind.
I wish I had seen this before I bought mine. Let the buyer beware, I guess.
Thanks for the info! I hadn't realized that Jackery is doing Li-ion-Phos batteries. I was shying away from their brand because I didn't want a Li-ion battery system.
They're ALL "Li-ion" batteries.
You mean "I don't want the higher energy *Nickel* based cells"
I got a 500w Jackery, old design, about 5 years ago. I think I've charged it like under 10 times. It holds the charge until I use it, and it's still doing the same job whenever I need it. Which is not very often granted. No regrets though.
They should drop the price, you're right for making the video. If I were getting one today, I wouldn't have known the difference.
Jackery should take action. What is left of their reputation is at stake. Sells them for 30-40% of the old list and clear them out as they still have some utility. Or give them to the people in NC and Florida who need power sources right now.
How good are the Anker brand stations?
Thanks for the info. Can you show info on transfer switches by jackery.
Hear any problems with solar charging by the new one ?
I got the old one for $999 a while ago, but it included two panels as well. Also only really need it for hurricane prep, but yeah, definitely need to look into the newer ones.
Is the inverter going to last ten years ??
Lithium Ion refers to all different kinds of lithium chemistries, including LifePo4 chemistry, and NMC. Both LifePo4 and NMC still use lithium ion transfer as a means for providing power. The older Jackery uses NMC chemistry cells, which certainly have their place. Higher energy density for their weight, something I have use for. For my use case, I'd actually opt for the NMC version, being that it is more compact, lighter, and I won't be cycling it much. NMC is the same chemistry used in things like your phone, tablets, and other portable devices as it offers a higher energy density than LifePo4.
^this!
All my phones and tablets have LFP batteries though 😂
Well said, thanks for posting. This guy is acting like he knows wtf he's talking about, and he knows next to nothing. The giveaway is when he refers to the old as lithium ion and the new as LFP, right in the beginning.🤦
What he said is correct.
@@andredeketeleastutecomplex What kind of phones and tablets? All of mine have regular NMC Lithium polymer packs.
Seems like there would be a considerable weight difference. That might matter in some peoples circumstance.
Answer me this if you plug-in a regular refrigerator into this unit how long will it last?
Depends on the size of the refrigerator, but 1-2 hours :D
6-7 if it's already cold and you don't open it
LiFePO4 battery is a LOT safer for storing around the house, or in your car, than the older lithium ion ones.
I just received mine and it doesn’t turn on and got an F8 code showing and no solar indicator.
Will the plus handle my refrigerator for 3-6 days using solar in between days to charge up?
It might could - just depends on how much your fridge takes & how much solar you're able to put into it. We have another video on how much power a fridge typically draws! you can view it here: th-cam.com/video/OfR53ZZ2gSc/w-d-xo.html
The explorer 1000 and two panels is $799 on Amazon right now
A very insightful video itâs interesting how sometimes people buy replicas and then pretend they are the real thing, which in a way feeds into that sense of exclusivity that discourages people from buying the real thing in the first kislux ! Like the drama that happened on the reality show Singles in Hell
Did you check the battery type in the book? And compare the same info on the website. Troubling?...
Just one question, have a Jackery 500 bought around six years ago. Still seems to be going strong, but do wonder if there's any way of doing a battery test, to see how it's holding up
Do you like anybody else would do and go buy yourself a multimeter.
@@OutdoorswithFloridaSmokin How do you check with a Multimeter, just plug it in and switch on.
Thank you for that excellent information!
I bought the jackery 500 for like 300 bucks on Black Friday idk if it’s still a lose in the long run. I never use it but plan on having it for camping / power outage scenarios which happen very rarely
To be clear, the old design was ok.. it worked and was priced at about $1/watt. I would expect them to improve their product over the years, and am glad they did. If the price / watt also goes down, that's a bonus! The new model is marked with "LiFePO4 Battery".
CanI leave it plugged 120 and use it for an APS for my computer work station at home?
Wish I'd known this 2 days ago when I got the tiny Explorer 240, but I did get it on clearance for 1/3rd off so $200AU. I plan to use it with a small car fridge when it's not running off the cars power so at most it would run overnight. And I won't be using it daily for a year so still expect to get a long life from it.
Harbor Freight still has older version on their site and in store.
I steered away from it due to old battery technology. If they improved battery may consider new version.
It is good to see them switch to the better chemistry. I don't have a home battery system but I do use Bluetti and Jackery devices daily to work from home with solar energy. As such my original Jackery Explorer 500 gets the job done but it doesn't have 60+ watt USB C for direct DC laptop connection forcing me to the comparatively inefficient inverter. It also gets discharged to about 30% then recharged about 4 times a week so that 500 cycles is a meaningful limitation.
My jackery was dead in a year, issue with the bms as half of the batteries measured bad when I took it apart and measured them.
What about the 3000? What lithium battery does that one have? The phosfate one??? And how many life cycles does it have?
Not the biggest fan of Jackery (imo they are overpriced), but this isn't a scam. LiPo lasts longer but weighs much more. It's a tradeoff.
It also costs more in Jackery models. OPs info in not correct.
Also most of these all in one power stations wont be working in 5 years if you use it often. Over-complicated tech with lots electronics that can fail with this type of application. So the battery cycle life might not be the main concern. I think from a safety standpoint all current lithium battery technology is a fire hazard although LiFePO4 is slightly safer. I would not want old any lithium batteries in my place.
@@practicalguy973 - New Jackerys have a 5 year warranty.
Appreciate the video. I bought my 1000 jackery w/ 2 100w solar panels for $699.. the newest v2 with 1 200w solar panel is $1299..I'll stick with mine as it gets charged 2 times a year and only gets used in power Outages. Think I'll be fine for the next 10+ years...even if it hits 80%

One thing that I have noticed about the older Jackery power stations is that the older ones have an output voltage of 110V while the newer ones have an output voltage of 120V.
Here's something nobody ever asks...and should. How do you return their product if it fails? Go read the laws from the DOT.

Thank you! I already own the older version, about 5 years now. So, if I pursue another Jackery purchase, I will know the difference.
