I was an American Civil War reenactor for 15 years in southern California (Co. E, 8th Louisiana Infantry, Army of Northern Virginia) and we would NEVER let audiences get that close, let alone mingle with the reenactors. Love all reenacting though and thought this was magnificent.
I was part of the PzGrenLehrBtl sitting in the SdKfz 251 with the number 911 on it. if anyone has any recordings of the Battle and the Event in general, let me know!
Used to love reenacting back in the 80s and 90s before it just got ridiculous....guys act like bad girls ripping on each others uniform and kit...dumb ass terms like farby, fanboy, wehraboo...i quit in sheer disgust.
@Marchesi Michael Let's face it: that's most likely not their primary motivation. It's as easy as that: war in general, has an extreme potential of disharmony resp. creates extreme situations. These situations are absent in harmonic i.e. peaceful times. But these *dis-harmonic* times are the ones which create big emotions and force people just to focus on primal instincts. Not to think about _Will I be able to pay the mortgage in 10 years_ or _Damn now my neighbor has the better car_ but just on the essential thing of life: to survive (at least at the front line/ combat, what these guys reenact). From my point of view, this kind of people, participating in reenactments, are just driven by the seek of this dis-harmonic thrill of ww2 times. And that's it. One could state now: 'OK, but why do they choose to be Axis'? Well, the war between Axis and Allies in WW2 is comprehended as the war between 'Good' and 'Evil'. And sometimes, some just want to be the bad guy for a few minutes. So, why not?
Because these people love history and would want to experience it for themselves and some people watch this for entertainment since it’s like seeing the history books come to life. Besides, they’re not reliving it, they’re just visualizing it. It’s more like a Theater than actually watching hell on earth.

Awesome. What makes this great that there Is a lot of the participants. Almost like extras for a movie set. Well coreographed too.
with that gorgeous uniform..how did they lose?
What does uniforms have to do with winning or losing a war
the uniforms arent even that good ngl, the soviet, british, american snd french uniform looks cooler imo since the germans uniform is overrated
It looks nice but as a reenactor the field grey gets old, I absolutely love Prussian and Swedish uniforms though
Everyone want to be on the German side, because of German helmets and kool looking uniform. 🙋♂️⚔
Gute Arbeit
How do I join that reenactment group? And we’re is it?
