I love that part at 4:40. It shows that despite how graceful and beautiful they are and how similar they are in appearance, they are still aliens at the end of the day.
@guilemaster147 Depends on what armour they have, a human would only survive a bolt if it hit them at the base of their elbow or knee, where as Eldar have superior armour to the rest of the races. Though most survive bolts by running at them so they go through you before they explode. As for close range bolt impacts the power of the bolt-pistol would probably blast it straight through the target.

@Rykanable What they lack they make up for in speed, in one of the books there is a Howling Banshee who absolutely destroys a squad of Chaos Space Marines and Cultists all by herself. She is not regarded as an exceptional warrior. Astartes are fast but they're not as fast as the Eldar.

The reason behind the "YEAHKICKASSINVINCIBLE BIG GUNS AND SHIT" as you so eloquently put it, is because the makers of the 40k universe are not afraid to make some huge-assed war machine into their universe. And the Eldar have physco-plastic armour, basicly meaning it's as flexible as fabric but still one of the hardest armours in the 40k universe, not to mention their senses are high than ours, making them better in combat.

I'll say the things I like about the Eldar in this game. Look good, sound good. The voices for nearly all the units are quite good, except the banshees aren't as awesome as they used too, and nearly all the units look fantastic. Play wise, they should not have those platforms. Only guardians can use em, so put it with them!
@Uteko95 Tau's ideology, despite the attempt to make them seem nice, is very dogmatic - either believe in the greater good or die. They may make more attempts to convert people to the Greater Good than the Imperials do to the Emperor, but fact remains. The Eldar do avoid fighting the Tau, for they see them as possible replacements if/when they are wiped out, but sometimes their aims clash and fighting is inevitable

Eldar soul stones can be placed in the bodies of Wraithguards and Wraithlords which are composed of the same material as webway assemblies. These are rarely used. Listen to some of the wraithguard lines in retribution, sometimes they say "Let the enemies of the Eldar know the fallen walk again" tl;DR, Eldar can be reborn into non-organic bodies.
Though a dying race we may be, as long as the servants of the C'tan and the Great Enemy continue their bloody conquest of the galaxy we shall endure. We have not yet drawn our last breath.
It probably boils down to what they're up against, too. The Terminators are nearly invincible in close combat and disorganized fight, but if the enemy has long range heavy weapons(lascannons), tanks and even gunships and the terminators face them in the open, their performance is drastically reduced. And then of course, luck, which can be a great boon or widow to even the greatest warrior.

well that's the thing.. you need to learn how to use them. PUT DOWN the shields. any unit behind one is invincible as long as it stands and the enemy is in front of it and you are behind it. set up a whole bunch to fall back to with some troops to cover you. you also need to dance around with units since guardians are fast. use fleet of foot, not just to run fast but it reduces damage. get the warlock for extra dps and adds some melee force. use embolden to make you hit harder.
I put eldar second, orks first, spacemarines third and impirial guard 4th on my fav list I hate when oponents spam banshees or fireprisms, i can never have enough tankbustas to counter.

I don't like taking advantage of "Voids" where a mechanic is used differently than it should, and by the way, fleet of foot reduces their damage doesn't it? It still doesn't change the fact I would rather Dire Avengers. I don't care if it's Ulthwe. Where are the aspect warriors?
@konnigkratz Since when are Eldar souls reborn into human bodies?! The souls of dead Eldar are trapped in a spirit stone, part of an Infinity Matrix, or consumed by She-Wo-Thirsts. The only exceptions are Harlequins, whose souls belong to the Laughing God.
technically the emperor isnt dead, his soul is just lost in the warp and he fights off the forces of chaos and keeps them away from terra if the emperor did die a giant warp rift the size of the imperium would open up and fuck us up big time.... i play nids but am thinking about either Space Marines or Eldar
Well I heard that slitherine made a game deal with GW so the games that might produce would be like turn base PG(panzer general) in 40k. Check the slitherine forms.

By the way, for those who don't know, I still hate guardians being the main combat force. They are not the main fighting force for the Eldar. The primary troop unit for any Eldar practically are the Dire Avengers, who have higher armor, skills, and have powerful abilities. WHERE ARE THEY?!

That's not the point. Grenades can easily miss if the opponent moves, takes too long to throw, the shield I haven't used, and they also do BARELY ANY RANGED DAMAGE EVEN IF THEY ARE IN COVER. IF SPACE MARINES ARE NOT EVEIN IN COVER THEN THEY ONLY TAKE LIKE 10 DAMAGE PER SECOND WHEREAS GUARDIANS TAKE LIKE 200.

Depends on what you would call Aspirants with better weapons, I remeber reading a book where freeken 10 Terminators tooked on TOUSDENDS of Orks with Flash Git Guns and such, Granted a few Terminators died but they won in the end. THOUSENDS like Tends of Tousends ... while earlyer some Scouts with good guns/weapons tooked on maybe 3x there number. but then again ive seen Terminators in some Ultramarine books get taken out by like a random dude with a pitch fork aparently -.-

You know what pisses me off? Anyone here play the original Dawn of War games? It's super stupid that the Eldar get barely any troops and barely any of their rules, whereas Necrons, get a whole crapload of rules, probably most complex army in that game, but, Space marines have more than the Eldar?! WTF? Eldar are known to be a very complex and threatening army, and here, they make em' like crap. Still love em' the most though. IMO.

The Autarch would have been a great replacement for the Warp Spider Exarch hero since he would be customizable and all. I honestly think Guardians are still terrible in this game - They can't even do jack crap to a Space Marine squad. In fact, in the tabletop, if marines went up to a full squad of Guardians (20) and the eldar player could shoot, the marines would be killed. They are underpowered IMO.

Still, fifteen thousand years is half again as long as the Imperium have existed, which is several times longer than any real human civilisation (AFAIK). On a related note, Eldrad Ulthran also remembers it, and this is rather more notable because he's implied to have been a Farseer even back then...
The Eldar do have a nice story and I like the fact that they might join with the Tau one day, they are good allies, why not work more often, better question: Why do Tau and Eldar fight at all? Eldard liked them, before he got killed, taken to Slaaneshes realm and then turn Slaanesh into his bitch XD
it's not used differently than how it should. that's how it's meant to be. yea dire advengers would be better. but that might take away faction balance. who knows. i say give them eldrad :P even though he's gone T_T
@keyking2 An Eldar warrior is still not equal compared to an Astartes. Astartes are allrounders, the Eldar warriors are specialists. And the allrounder always beats the specialist in the end. Also, technically stronger armor and advanced biological system. Long story short, if Eldar wouldn't be so strong in hit-and-run and stealth tactics, they would stand no chance against the Imperium.

you have to know how to use the guardians. there are sooooo many good ways to use them. for one they have the best grenades in the game
