27 caps for the English national team, including games at 2 World Cups will be something Phil Jones will impress young players with that he will be coaching. How many teenage players would raise their hands if they were asked: do you want a career in which you will play at Manchester United and at 2 World Cups, but your last competitive game will be at the age of 30. I would say 99% of them would love to have that opportunity.
Us Americans should start to pay attention to how much of threat Europe is to the United States, they are trying to turn us back into the Colonies, and now England can arrest you as a American and Extradite you to the UK for making a comment online. Americans start waking up to how Europeans are trying to destroy our Country.
Obviously the core of the squad will be the overseas players and those in the MLS will be fringe players making up the numbers, mainly used as cover. I don’t see too many being starters tbf. The league is simply not at a high enough level and having no promotion and relegation makes it even less competitive.
Exactly. His core team will be European based so it makes sense he’s based here. London to Spain and Italy is less than three hours away. He’s not going to select too many from the MLS other than mostly as squad fillers and backups.
Gab has it about Poch. Set aside the fact that he might prefer living at home😉... he *would* be closer to his team in Europe. And his job in between international windows is to study his players, and the tactics their clubs use in order to know what his players are most familiar with... and best at. How else do teams like France or Spain or Argentina just fall in as if they never stopped playing with each other with little to no time in training?
What he’ll probably do is implement a system and find the best players to fit it and that will generally be those in Europe who are playing and training at a higher level and will be better at adapting to whatever Poch wants.
The only time he’ll need to be in the US will be for games and for marketing reasons and sponsor events which is obviously also important. Its probably how the US can even afford him.
Tbf most of the players Poch will be picking from play in Europe. The MLS players will probably be used to make up the numbers where he’s short in decent cover. I’m sure those in charge will ask him to include MLS players for marketing reasons if only in the squad, but they can’t dictate who he picks to play.
Actually, it makes sense considering our best players are in Europe. The less exposure he has to the US Soccer culture, the better. Don't let him get infected by that mediocrity mentality. He can get the guys together somewhere in Europe to train. Make them believe they are a European country. That alone will improve their results!
I’m sure he’ll have people who can advise him on any worth looking at. He’ll probably be speaking with a wide range of people including coaches and scouts. It will probably be younger players who could potentially play at a higher level and maybe playing for the U23/U21 US teams.
You’re not looking at the big picture. 90% of the US squad are playing in Europe. He will be closer to study and understand our players. He’s better than any American coach at this time.
Most if not all of your best are in Europe so it makes complete sense being based here. He only needs to be in the US for games and marketing/sponsor events which will generally be scheduled around games.
@@Arthur_1998Its hard to tell if you’re being sarcastic. Theres zero reason to be based in the US when nearly all your top players are here in Europe. He only needs to be there for training camps before games and marketing/sponsor events which again will largely be scheduled around games.

Our best players should be in Europe anyways. This means he’s not going to give af about MLSers

True
not smart at all
Yep, Young MLS prospects are fine, but by 21 players should really be out of MLS if they have national team aspirations. 22 at the very latest.

This man could live on Mars for all I care…if he can get results and the best out of our team than idgaf where he lives.
I couldn't care less about where Pochettino lives, as long as he does the job when it matters.
Try living with your wife/ fiance across the Atlantic and tell me how long your relationship last

@@limbeboy7 this is a remarkably stupid comparison, even by youtube commenter standards

As for "immersing himself in the culture" of his players - again, the culture of his players *as footballers* is in Europe.
What he’ll probably do is implement a system and find the best players to fit it and that will generally be those in Europe who are playing and training at a higher level and will be better at adapting to whatever Poch wants.
If 90% of the national teams’ players are in Europe, this isn’t a problem…

Poch in Europe makes a statement to young players: If you want to get the attention of the USMNT coach, you should play in Europe. Simple. Overdue.
😂😂😂😂 I think it's great
As usual, the British guy not letting the other guy speak

Then he should get an american assistant based in the US to follow mostly MLS
Why?

Everton fan here, Onana is not a good player lol. This man makes so many mistakes. Thank God they got something for him
He was still one of Everton’s better players tbf. There aren’t too many they could sell for big money.
Remote working.
Who cares where he lives??
This is one of the reasons why we shouldn't hire a coach who's not American. They should just give the spot to Mikey Varas.
Why?
