Last year when Paul McBeth had his 18 under par round, when ESPN aired highlights of his round, they used video footage from Jomez. The camera work and video production certainly looked professional enough to air on ESPN. Unfortunately the same can't be said about the camera work and video production of DGPT, and that's a problem should anything happen in a round of disc golf that would have the potential to air on ESPN. DGPT, for the sake of disc golf overall, let Jomez do what they do best.
Crusader7077 I think it’s important to understand that yes JomezPro is the best, clearly there productions are above the rest, but in my opinion this is pretty good as well, yes the editing is a little funky but these people are not getting paid nearly what espn editors get paid. I for one think that we are lucky to have as much disc golf as we have on you tube now and should be thankful. Everyone is always so negative and I don’t get it just be thankful that these people bust there butts so we can sit on the couch and watch disc golf
@@ccdiscs5790 I honestly agree with both of you. I think for the visibility of disc golf to the outside world, it's important to have really high quality coverage, and Jomez does that. But for those of us who want to sit on the couch and watch disc golf, the amount of different coverage is great. I personally feel that Jomez should have lead card coverage especially in the final round of any major tournament, and for those of us that watch that and want more then we come here for the chase or 3rd card coverage. Once the quality of the coverage gets better, then give DGPT lead card coverage, that way if something crazy happens (which is most likely to happen with the best players who are on the lead card) it has great visuals.
Lead Card finish should be first video released. Thank goodness Ulibarri was on the card to help understand the emotions going on, otherwise the coverage is so late there's almost no point in watching.
Yo! No final score rankings? That's a miss for sure! It was definitely better than last tournament. But like some others say, there were a few too many shots that was cut mid-flight and/or didn't have a catch-cam. I really like the long shots, like Emerson's putt on 18 from across the pond. That's something that other companies don't really do. Other than that the drone footage seem to be lower quality? Not too bad, you just need to get a little better and pump out the footage faster. good luck.
Absolutely fantastic commentary. That was a brilliant wait of time. The insights from Uli, the pious backup from Nate. I was on the edge of my seat. Bravo. As much as you want to hate, to wait to see that rivalry go again, it was worth it.
I would like to hear some more course audio in the mix. Especially during big moments the crowd reactions really add to the excitment. Overall I think this is headed in the right direction once the camera operators gain more experience and technical aspects get sorted out.
Paul and Nate are outstanding as a commentary duo. The graphics are great. The cameramen need to improve before this coverage matches or approaches the standard.
Beyond the amateur filming, whoever is editing out shots and cutting halfway through flight... Go back to school. There were some crucial shots that were cut out entirely.
Not sure why so many people are saying Paul got lucky and won. If that shot on 15 stays OB, he still makes that up-and-down for par. They'd still have been even through 15. Ricky got VERY lucky on the Par 5s to end up in the positions he was in and WASTED them. Results would have been the same regardless.
Commentary is fantastic boys. Good chemistry, good delivery. Uli made me feel the drama, Perkins kept it fun without talking too much and complimented Uli's in-round experience. Your perspective was awesome to hear Paul, thanks for sharing!
Didn’t really like the editing, especially with how long it took to release. Nate and Paul have great chemistry together and really save the video. It’s great to hear from Paul since he was on the card.

Much better this time, albeit late. Suggestion regarding the graphics: I miss seeing the standings at the end of each video showing the scores for the whole tournament. It gives you a better feel for what's happening in terms of movement outside the card you're watching. Hopefully not too crazy to add!
Paul, Nate, love the commentary! Top notch! Side note: Nate, I’ve taken a page out of your book and kind of emulated your follow through and it’s helped my game leaps and bounds.
This is better than the coverage from Arizona even though it was days after the event and only the final round. This was the level that I was expecting to see on a first try. Hopefully future events will have more rounds in this format and better quality.
Still disappointed about keeping filming in house- as the woes are blatently obvious. Hopefully you guys get things together QUICKLY. Positive note, commentary team of Uli and Perkins is fantastic. Not quite Big Sexy, but just as good. Great work Paul and Nate- DGPT, please get it together ASAP
Dgpt, I’m not gonna say you’re near equal to jomez coverage... but you’re making baby steps. It’s getting a little better. Thanks for the “graphics”, you’ve lined up the audio better, hell, your cameramen are even learning...a little. Just keep improving. We all wanna see the sport grow, but it’s quality over quantity.
I think that extra stick on 17 cleared Paul’s conscious after that ridiculously fortunate inbounds kick he got. This is such a great battle, one for the ages!!
This is one of the classic overprescriptions, like splitting infinitives or ending a sentence in a preposition (both of which are perfectly fine). Further is actually acceptable for distance.
Great commentary from Uli & Nate. Next time I'd like to hear what the players are throwing for as many shots as possible. and DGPT: this is waayyyyy too late to upload. the standard has been set by ccdg & jomez.
Like the other guy said, the video is a dumpster fire to watch. Uli and Nate are crushing commentary however. Appreciate the links to their signature discs.
Great commentary! but yeah the rest was terrible and untimely. We have to wait 4 days to see the best finish this year? Why is disc golf coverage going backwards?
McBeth needs to find a better replacement for the Nova. Taking a beat up wasp and turning it over into the ground is just not as reliable. It's the one shot that he can't really replicate with his new bag.
Well done on the contrast and saturation. You can see almost every disc without straining. A little faster on the trigger would be nice. Well filmed though
Like everyone is saying its not you Paul or Nate, the camera work and editing was some of the worst work i have ever seen for a professional company. ENTIRE SHOTS NOT ON FILM, angles missed, couldn't follow a disk to save there life, shots ending soon, and parts of flight just not caught on camera, just horrendous camera work.
While we all agree Jomez does a much better job, I think we'll also all agree that Nate Perkins' buttery voice should butter all disc golf coverage toast.
Still worth a thumbs up. I don't know why everyone has such a bad attitude about your coverage. I remember CCDG and Jomez videos that were rough back in the day, too. It takes time to learn how to film a new sport well. Oh, and none of you could do any better (unless you are Jomez or CCDG or The DG Guy).
@@wadupdock5363 When Paul headed over to start the handshakes Ricky was sitting and focused by the time Ricky noticed Paul was heading towards the tee, no big deal at all. Seemed both actions were respectful to me.
Late is better than never. The downvotes are not a reflection of the commentary, or the hard work put in on this. It's about the inability of the DGPT Management to put out the coverage in a timely manner. The Live coverage is bad, and I don't want to spend three quarters of the time in the live coverage looking at people standing around. Take a hint from the PGA, multiple cameras on multiple cards. If you can't do that then your live coverage is nothing more than background noise. Your editing of this is lacking still, better than The Memorial, but lacking. Missing McBeth's par putt on 11, missing the end of his incredible upshot on 12, and the tee box cam losing multiple drives. I know your crew is new to the game, but having an entire off season available to train your people and still having these issues is laughable. Thanks for finally getting out the coverage on an incredible finish, it's just too bad that we had to wait so long. Next day is the standard. More with less eh Mr. Dodge? Doesn't seem to be panning out so far. Get your ego out of this and help your crew be more successful or give the coverage back to Jomez and CCDG.
Paul and Nate enjoyed the in depth commentary.
Id love to hear their commentary but I cant deal with the trailer trash quality
@@CurtisMishleau Oh c'mon dude it's not that bad
