I think my favourite thing about this is in both form and function is emulated a sawn off slug shotgun. Especially with 'mega darts do more' rules. It's nice to see some real steel 'function' creep in as well as aesthetics.

Nice, man! Looks really good!! And I agree, I think it'll look even better once you cut down the slide. Really cool! I like how you actually BUILD a lot of this out of totally unrelated, non-Nerf parts. That's pretty neat.
its cool you made a spaz-12 styled magnus,as for the folding stock they do have one as a kit for a alpha trooper but that thing almost looks like gunmetal black
you totally missed what i said, its a german made plastic spaz-12 styled kit for the alpha trooper. the stock folds upwards its jsut he'd have to do heavy paint work because it looks gunmetal black
I built it and it worked beautifully! And what I had done instead of using a retaliator/recon slide, I had previously shortened a Modulus and had the battery tray cover to spare, so I used that and I can still use my retaliator. However, one problem I did run into was mounting the barrel onto the already existing one, which I solved by just using some metal brackets, but I couldn't figure out how you used the PVC to mount the barrel in place. Thanks for the mod idea! And the fact that screws are always better than glue gun and superglue
I need to do this with my red magnus. The good thing about the magnus is that it's just like a revolver so if you take the slide off or cut it there is a place to mount a folding stock like you intend on doing
I think a retaliator stock would look real nice on this thing and some kind of dart storage on the side as well could make it look partially realistic, but very good mod anyway! :D
Exactly! Now for it to work I would need to get a Nerf to Picatinny Rail adapter and get a real foregrip as a Nerf one would not have a strong enough connection...but it would work!
Well the beauty of using a recon slide is that is has rail! Now obviously a nerf grip would never be secure enough to pump. But if I got some Nerf to Piccatinny adapter I could attach a real foregrip securely enough.
You credited my work so all is well bro :) besides you made it famous so i'm more than thankful ~~ even our group's getting attention cause of it you know, and hey, if you drop by here at philippines you're more than welcome :D
...now that you mention it...I should do this. It was naturally beveled slightly because of the shape of the PVC bushing...but I think I had to file it down so much I took out the beveling and it did not occur to me to put it back. Thanks!
Beautiful. Was planning on taking 2 Magnus and doing something like walcom's hellsender but after I saw this I think I need one. Though I want a mega shotgun (2 darts at once or more) so I'll see what I can do ;).
You think you could put a Blasterparts spring into that down the line? 90~ FPS with Megas, it still probably won't be a practical primary but it'd just be nice.
That thing is gorgeous. Now I have two Magnus related projects on my To Mod list. Also, I wonder how that would look with a proper shotgun handle, like maybe from a Slingfire or Sentinel.
Was impressed the first time I watched this. Now that I have seen this in action again, would it be possible to make one that can feed the shells from a Sledgefire up into it like an actual shotgun and eject them when you prime for the next shot?
I've seen many people integrate Centurion magazines to extend the size of the "internal" magazine. Integrating a Tyrant magazine with this pump grip would make a decent alternative to the RotoFury, plus two shots! And you could top off as you go.
hey captain, if you are looking for a video idea, i would really like to see what that bag is? the bag is shown while you are doing your firing demonstration and it is hanging on the wall next to some of your swords. as a LARPer and a fantasy lover it intrigues me greatly. thank you for your time.
This is a great idea I might even make one for myself, but where do you find the connecting rod. I will still try to make myself one but I do need the tools to do this project
I saw this on NMW as well, and thought that was a delightful idea. Now I have your vid to prove how disgustingly simple this can be. Definitely on my list when I get some magnus'. My local K-Mart is going out of business, and they have a complete inventory of nerf and nerf-related delightfulness. Got my x-shot eliminator there for 8 bucks and am looking at grabbing more, especially the many, many magnus' they got.
Seeming how you like all things modular, I'd say try to put on a barrel attachment point on it, then you could put on a bayonet or other things Awesome vid!
Good mod, I like it. You should make it modular (as you like everything that way) and put a for-grip since there is a rail on the front already (in your signature colours of course) and a stock attachment point so you can switch between stocks that you like.
Great work n that, looks and functions perfectly! Thanks so much for being a fan of using screws-- I hate using glue or any kind of putty, it's so hard to work with after the fact. Screws RULE.
Hey Captain, what if you were to flip the magnus so the loading mech was on the bottom like a real shotgun? I feel like the only problem will be the slide, say if you kept the trigger and only flipped the grip
Do you think you could upgrade the magnus spring, make it take elites inn a mag with a raider mag well, give it some brass to get a good seal and make it take two slugs so it's like a real shotgun? Would it be really hard? Practical? You can basicly get 18 shotguns shot with slugs which is good. make it take full elites as well?
Yeah, I have considered how to make this happen...it would be hard...but not impossible. The trick would be getting the dart pusher to lower as you pump back but pop back up as soon as it is fully pumped back. This would allow a dart to feed in through the tube but still allow it to feed.
...did you not watch the video? I covered this. I did not want to do it to this one because I like the current look. I plan to build a second one using the BuzzBee Boss to get the mag fed functionality.
I looked into it. It is $50. I'm pretty sure I can make one fore less. I am considering a purely cosmetic one rather than a functional folding one. Just for looks and dart storage.
Hello again. Don't know if you are ever looking to stock up on these or not but I've only more recently become interested in the mega line so I wanted to check these out and found they're on Walmart.com right now for $5.49. Hell of a deal imo. I went and grabbed 3 and had them price adjust. Was like $17 for all 3. Some other good sales too like $20 for a tri strike. Just FYI if you're interested.
don't have a magnus myself, but i heard there is a way to mod it, so it can fit four instead of three darts. if this shotgun-mod is meant for actual nerf wars, that could make a small difference
this is awesome, hope to get my boss out before your's :-P on a real note though, did you get my FB message about a dart shooting atlas? Would be in line with the shotgun trend going around :-)
Hey it's been a while since I have commented but I was wondering what size screws u use and what are the metal pieces u use for the grip attachment so I can try doing this at home because you have inspired me
The screws on the pump grip are from a Deploy (see I told you they were useful) and on the slide it is several washer head screws...no idea where they came from.
Great mod. I have a few questions. When you screw the priming bars into the stock slide are you using a nut and bolt or are you just screwing into the slides plastic? If the later, (I assume the later) what size screws are you using to get a solid connection without affecting the slides movement?
Hello captain Xavier, one question I've had for a long time was how did you make the screws fit perfectly and not go too deep into the barrel and slide?
That is "pipe bracket." Not sure what it is officially called. I found it in the plumbing aisle at Home Depot. I believe it is used to create custom pipe brackets.
I think my favourite thing about this is in both form and function is emulated a sawn off slug shotgun. Especially with 'mega darts do more' rules. It's nice to see some real steel 'function' creep in as well as aesthetics.
I just pulled my magnus out of my nerf storage, and thought gee I wonder pump action would look like.... *sees captain Xavier video* Awesome video!!!
:D
Niiice! Glad to see that our Magnus inspired you to do one as well. Love how you played with the Black and orange theme too. :)
Thanks for the awesome idea!

hasbro, take notes!
Hasbro wish they thought of that!!! C’mon Hasbro, ya know you want to. #JustAJoltReference
Nice, man! Looks really good!! And I agree, I think it'll look even better once you cut down the slide. Really cool! I like how you actually BUILD a lot of this out of totally unrelated, non-Nerf parts. That's pretty neat.
Thanks. I am considering making a purely cosmetic stock. I just love the look of the folded stock so much. Plus dart storage. :P
"Do it!!" - Shia LaBeuf, c. 2015
you should attach a dart holder from the mega "shotgun" onto the side
I'm always happy to get a notification about a new Captain Xavier video! Keep up the good work!
Dude, this is my kind of mod. Looks great man even though it's cheap :)
Ian JunkerNaut it's amazing
Ian JunkerNaut yeah
It is good to be back, haven't seen a video in a month and this Magnus looks great!
its cool you made a spaz-12 styled magnus,as for the folding stock they do have one as a kit for a alpha trooper but that thing almost looks like gunmetal black
you totally missed what i said, its a german made plastic spaz-12 styled kit for the alpha trooper. the stock folds upwards its jsut he'd have to do heavy paint work because it looks gunmetal black
its cool
That's amazing because the Magnus doesn't get anymore love ever since the Cyclone shock came out, so this is amazing!
One of the coolest mods I've seen recently.
Love it. More like this where you make frankenblasters with inexpensive parts then upgrade the internals.
O_O I need to buy a Magnus and all the parts. I'll be right back.
Love it!
I had thought about a pump action for mine, but it never dawned on me to add to it for the shotgun look.
Awesome build. Looks like the best Nerf sawed off I've ever seen. It's only downfall is that its capacity is 3 shots
Yeah, to fix that I am building a Boss version.
I need to do this with my red magnus. The good thing about the magnus is that it's just like a revolver so if you take the slide off or cut it there is a place to mount a folding stock like you intend on doing
Dude this is awesome. If only we had those parts available here, boy would i try this.
Do they not have PVC in Australia?
Captain Xavier They do, but not all that cool bushing stuff
If they do not have bushings...what do they use to connect the PVC to...other PVC?
Captain Xavier Couplers! ^_^
If you want a modular grip, use a worker one. They are black to fit your theme, and super sturdy. You already have the rail to!
Yep its my bro made it .. he's name ir maoh nakajima .. and we are proud of it its filipino made ..thank you capt xavier for mentioning
I think a retaliator stock would look real nice on this thing and some kind of dart storage on the side as well could make it look partially realistic, but very good mod anyway! :D
Skullcrush 360 id say a stockade stock
Scott Warrior oh yeah that would look quite nice
Skull raider stock clearly
Pl0x I was going to say a Raider stock too.
It's a really good idea, using the recon handle, as you can put on and take off a foregrip on it, a feature most shotguns don't have, and that's nice
Exactly! Now for it to work I would need to get a Nerf to Picatinny Rail adapter and get a real foregrip as a Nerf one would not have a strong enough connection...but it would work!
Yeah, probably
LOVELY!! With a centurion mag mod. This menace could look awesome. I will try that mod as soon as possible.
If you cut the back of the side off to make room for a stock you could use the chunk you cut off instead of the recon slide up front.
Thanks for spreading an Awesome Idea. I have several Magnuses (Magnusi?) to play with. May I please have a parts list? Thank you.
Magnoxen, surely. ;)
You should add a raider grip on the pump grip
May make it more comfortable
Well the beauty of using a recon slide is that is has rail! Now obviously a nerf grip would never be secure enough to pump. But if I got some Nerf to Piccatinny adapter I could attach a real foregrip securely enough.
Right at the end of the vid you took the words right out of my mouth on what to do as another mod to it, or as part of another blaster! XD
Hi glad you liked my build! :)
alfred is enjoying his shotgun magnus with me as his common target at our nerf wars lol
It is an awesome design! I wish people would stop giving me credit for it...
You credited my work so all is well bro :) besides you made it famous so i'm more than thankful ~~ even our group's getting attention cause of it you know, and hey, if you drop by here at philippines you're more than welcome :D
the question is can it take a k26?
Nate Bair no
Could I suggest that you bevel the inside edge of the couplings in the pump grip? A rounded bevel might scrape less paint by a great deal.
...now that you mention it...I should do this. It was naturally beveled slightly because of the shape of the PVC bushing...but I think I had to file it down so much I took out the beveling and it did not occur to me to put it back. Thanks!
This is so cool!!! I am in the middle of finishing one of these for my self. Thanks for Making this
You are welcome
Beautiful. Was planning on taking 2 Magnus and doing something like walcom's hellsender but after I saw this I think I need one. Though I want a mega shotgun (2 darts at once or more) so I'll see what I can do ;).
a worker grip (that one that screws on) would be nice on the pumps rail
You could use a sling fire stock and screw on PVC to make mega dart holders
Wow love that gun, want that gun, good job dude.
You think you could put a Blasterparts spring into that down the line? 90~ FPS with Megas, it still probably won't be a practical primary but it'd just be nice.
just glad to know that the recon is not forgotten
Great mod. Top notch look and funtionality.
I have noticed a reacuring theme, I love any thing pump-action!
Not using a Magnus but people have built exactly what you are describing.
That is a leather...thing I found at good will. I use it as a messenger bag at large medieval events. It has quills, ink and parchment in it.
This is a great idea I might even make one for myself, but where do you find the connecting rod. I will still try to make myself one but I do need the tools to do this project
The connecting rod is in the same aisle at Home Depot as the PVC pipe.
Is the plural of Magnus is Magni? Magneses? Magnoxen? Goddamn Latin correspondence course...
Seeming how you like all things modular, I'd say try to put on a barrel attachment point on it, then you could put on a bayonet or other things
Awesome vid!
Good mod, I like it. You should make it modular (as you like everything that way) and put a for-grip since there is a rail on the front already (in your signature colours of course) and a stock attachment point so you can switch between stocks that you like.
I agree with another commenter that you should try to turn the faux-tube-mag into dart storage.
I considered it. The PVC is too think though.
Captain Xavier Would thinning the walls not be feasible?
No. I do not have the tools to bore out an 18in pipe
I have some thinner walled stuff but I am loath to use it for structural reasons.
Fair points. A Mega Dart sidesaddle would be a sweet alternative if you can ensure it doesn't get in the way of the slide.
Great work n that, looks and functions perfectly! Thanks so much for being a fan of using screws-- I hate using glue or any kind of putty, it's so hard to work with after the fact. Screws RULE.
You should put mega dart holders on the bottom tactical rail. Then they are out of the way and you have reloads easy.
You should attach a sledgefire or sling fire stock to the grip
You should make a faux barrel shroud for it
love it now i got to make one for myself ya think it can take a k26?
That good sir is a beautiful shotgun!
I got that fraggle rock joke!..... Bonus round?
Hey Captain, what if you were to flip the magnus so the loading mech was on the bottom like a real shotgun? I feel like the only problem will be the slide, say if you kept the trigger and only flipped the grip
Do you think you could upgrade the magnus spring, make it take elites inn a mag with a raider mag well, give it some brass to get a good seal and make it take two slugs so it's like a real shotgun? Would it be really hard? Practical? You can basicly get 18 shotguns shot with slugs which is good. make it take full elites as well?
If you don't want the barrels paint to rub off, just sand it down, and use black RIT dye. Dye can't be rubbed off if done correctly.
***** No he didn't? Where?
Aniquin
I like your reasoning behind no mag integration but personally I would put the magazine in it just so I don't have to reload as often
That is why I am going to build a Boss Variant.
Oh I see now.
i love this build soooooo much! great work
Thanks!
Would there be any way to make the lower part of the barrel a magazine tube like it would be on a real shot gun?
yes, it would be exesively complicated but yes!
Excessively is my favorite kind of complicated
Yeah, I have considered how to make this happen...it would be hard...but not impossible. The trick would be getting the dart pusher to lower as you pump back but pop back up as soon as it is fully pumped back. This would allow a dart to feed in through the tube but still allow it to feed.
Captain Xavier that would be amazing
Also i sent the package today
would there be any way to make it a side breach? love the design
have you thought about doing an extended internal magazine?
edit: also you should make a brass breech for this! shouldnt be super hard either
...did you not watch the video? I covered this. I did not want to do it to this one because I like the current look. I plan to build a second one using the BuzzBee Boss to get the mag fed functionality.
No, I mean extend the current internal magazine thats already inside so you can fit more darts in there
theres already a 3d printed spas 12 kit for the raider out there, you might be able to take the stock from that.
I looked into it. It is $50. I'm pretty sure I can make one fore less. I am considering a purely cosmetic one rather than a functional folding one. Just for looks and dart storage.
in either case, it'll fling foam just the same. It'll just look better doing it. :)
add in that mod of expanding the internal clip with a centurion mag and you've got a pump action rotofury basically!
Just FYI if you're interested.
cap, if you dye abs plastic you need acetone to make sure it impregnates the plastic.
How about making two of these like WalcomS7 and have a 6 mag mod and that relly can fight with the twin shock?
The Recon Slide for a gripe is a great idea to be honest
it looks great, if you did the extended mag mod it would look like the Airsoft shotgun.
True...but I don't want it to look like and Airsoft shotgun...
Captain Xavier alright.
don't have a magnus myself, but i heard there is a way to mod it, so it can fit four instead of three darts. if this shotgun-mod is meant for actual nerf wars, that could make a small difference
I saw a bit of brass breech around the frame... is that for the longshots you k-26'd
this is awesome, hope to get my boss out before your's :-P on a real note though, did you get my FB message about a dart shooting atlas? Would be in line with the shotgun trend going around :-)
When oh when will the NIC mod a functional tubular magazine
i bet it's quite a lot of fun to play around with it.
Indeed
i wish you a lot of fun while testing it in the battle. :)
i love your mods xavier
by the way, do you know where the best place to get a cheap drain blaster is?
Thanks. Sadly I do not. My link is out of stock.
This does look like a spaz 12 and it's awesome
Hey it's been a while since I have commented but I was wondering what size screws u use and what are the metal pieces u use for the grip attachment so I can try doing this at home because you have inspired me
The screws on the pump grip are from a Deploy (see I told you they were useful) and on the slide it is several washer head screws...no idea where they came from.
+Captain Xavier I got all the parts I need for it now so when my Magnus comes in on Monday I'll do this, do you know the exact dimensions?
Looks stunning!
What if you flip the clip over and make it load through the bottom that would be awesome
it is the Minnesota limit for shotgun internal ammo storage
I've seen the original in action. really cool.
Hey yeah? Sweet! It was too cool a build not to try.
Great mod. I have a few questions. When you screw the priming bars into the stock slide are you using a nut and bolt or are you just screwing into the slides plastic? If the later, (I assume the later) what size screws are you using to get a solid connection without affecting the slides movement?
Screws. 4 on each side. They are Nerf washer head screws. No idea where they came from.
Straight up need to make this, cuz I love me some pump action goodness
rewatching this gave me an idea, making the bottom tube into a mag tube for extra darts
I considered it. I also considered making the tube actually load. Neither proved practical.
You should try to find a way to make the breach on the bottom like a real shotgun
Please,PLEASE tell me you can modify the bottom end to either hold darts or feed directly into the weapon like a legit pump shotgun....
You should put a sling fire stock on the shotgun
So simple yet so cool.
you can borrow the hinge from the nerf specter for your stock... also it would be modular😉
...that might just work! Brilliant! This is why I read all my comments. Idea's like this!
awsome work! will it take a k26?
this is great ! i was planning a masterkey but i may now just make a pump from mine lol.
thanks for another great vid
I was originally planning to use this orange one for a master key. But then I got a second orange one so this happened. :D
What about a centurion mag intergration?
(sigh) getting really tired of answering this in the comments given that I covered it in the video...
Put an afg on the pump. It might give it a higher rof as well as looking bad ass
Hello captain Xavier, one question I've had for a long time was how did you make the screws fit perfectly and not go too deep into the barrel and slide?
By using screws that were not too long.
Make it fire elites integrate a six dart clip inside it could also then shoot two cut-down darts
your channel is the best
Devy DOOM if you like his check out lorddraconical
Nerf Bombey his is better than drac
Eir > deathdealer
They are even Eir = DeathDealer
Very cool mod. Love the way it looks
Thanks! Me too!
Hey captain maybe could you list the parts you used so others can make your amazing creation
1in PVC
3x 1in Couplers
3/4in PVC
2x 3/4in Couplers
1 3/4 cap
Pipe bracket
Recon slide
Screws
Thank you so much cap
And one last question what did you use for the arms o the pump
That is "pipe bracket." Not sure what it is officially called. I found
it in the plumbing aisle at Home Depot. I believe it is used to create
custom pipe brackets.
Ok thank you so much youvids
