So Vegito is supposed to be the fusing of Vegeta and "Kakarotto". So interesting story behind this. When DBZ began being dubbed into English in the mid-90s, the dub adapted the Japanese Kakarotto to Kakarot, which was accurate, given all Saiyan names are supposed to be after vegetables. Almost 10 years later, not to mention in a world with far more Internet access than when it started, when it came time to adapt Vegito, it was actually rumored they were considering the name Vegerot, which on paper would make more sense, but most people agreed Vegerot sounded lame compared to Vegito even though Vegito made less sense in English than it did in Japanese.

@@cartiersabuwhat’s worse is that he is still called Vegerot even in the Super manga after everybody unanimously has agreed that Vegito is way better. Not a single person I know calls him Vegerot lol 😂
This is why Goku has always been my favorite character in DB, Goku always knows what's the most important thing. Goku never focuses only on his emotions but the actual group. The bigger picture is what matters to Goku & he's a strong man, yet gentle. Which i've always found so attractive about good men. It's so nostalgic watching this, so many great memories of watching this with my cool older brothers. Fun fact, girls who like Vegeta are into bad boys girls like me who prefer Goku are into strong gentle men. 🤗
That was true for early Dragon Ball Z Super, and after Super has completely ruined his character

I like how Vegeta is the only character that Steph never complain about his ego cause he impatient and doesn't waste time and the only one she can relate.

If no one's mentioned it, if you pull up photos of the fusions and hide half the face of vegito, you will see goku and vegeta, respectively. Hopefully, this makes sense
It's even better in the Fusion Reborn movie. It's a perfect 50/50 split
Buu is using all their powers and has all their abilities, but Gohan is dominant due to his power level so that's what Buu's form takes on. Buu uses absorption, but that only adds their power to Buu's. Fusion on the other hand has a multiplier factor, and size/power/species being the same doesn't matter with the earrings.
I think Vegito is a pretty good blend of Goku and Vegeta actually. Physically he's got Vegeta's hair but also some of Goku's hair on the front. Personality wise he is prideful and cocky like Vegeta but also playful like Goku, not to mention Goku can be pretty cocky too. It's just the name really that's all Vegita, and even then it's just because Vegita + Kakaroto = Vegito.
I don't know how they did their voices but Teamfourstar for Abridged said they had one of them say the lines normally and then the other person would record theirs while matching the cadence of the 1st person.
If you notice, this buu has Picolo's nose. He didn't have one at all before

For potara Fusion called vegito in which vegeta dominating but when Goku and vegeta fused like a dancing trick they called gogeta in which Goku dominating.
That's not true. They're completely a new person when fusing. Nobody is dominant

So in Japanese "Kakarot" is "kakarotto"
So in Japanese Vegetto (Vegito) makes sense coz it's (VEGEta + kakaroTTO)
One personality isn’t really dominant over the other it just seems that way with gotenks because Goten has no personality other than being childish
So I've seen a few other comments explain already, but just to feed the algorithm...
Shortly before this happened, they had Goku and Vegeta do the fusion dance in one of the movies to become Gogeta. They wanted to leave that fusion character for the movies, so Toriyama came up with the potara fusion instead.
The name Vegito is one of those things that makes no sense in english. Japanese can't really end on a consonant, so in Japanese, Goku's Saiyan name is "kakarotto". Thus, Vegit + to = Vegito.
They shortened it to "Kakerot" in the dub because it sounded more natural in english and flowed better with the lip flaps, then Vegito happened and everyone went "... shit".
The manga translation tried to do "Vegirot," but no one cared for that, and it sounds terrible spoken. Funimation finally just went "fuck it" and decided to keep the more accurate "Vegito" even though it made no logical sense.

I'm certain at some point Toriyama had planned on Goku and Vegeta fusing using the dance however Toei animation beat him to it in one of the movies they fuse to create Gogeta by using the dance.
If Goegeta had appeared in the manga it wouldn't have the same impact as readers would have already seen Gogeta in the movie so Toriyama created the ear ring fusion.
As for the name of the fusion it combines Vegeta, "Be-ji-i-ta" and Kakarrotto, "Ka-ka-ro-to" which makes Vegito "Be-ji-i-to", which for me is too close to Vegeta. If you're only familiar with the English version it doesn't make sense as they say Kakarot instead of Kakarrotto. In the English translation of the manga Viz call him Vegerrott which is quite funny but is still a valid translation.
Personally Gogeta is the much better name. For the ultimate warrior, strongest character in all the manga, for it to be a fusion including the main character but not use the name Goku in any way feels wrong.
In the manga Vegito immediately turns into a Super Saiyan to fight Majin Boo but in the anime Vegito fights him without transforming for a full episode. But Kai has no filler right? That's what people keep saying.

Vegeta cares deeply about Bulma's well-being, a sentiment that becomes more apparent in 'Super'. Sadly, the show doesn't explore many slice-of-life moments between them, but it's evident that Vegeta has a soft spot for his wife.

Two patara fusions can't fuse because you can only use the patara once in your life. They could fusion dance though.
Funny that you said Gogeta. That’s what they call themselves when fused from the fusion dance (done in a DB movie)

to be fair goku HAD to hold back ssj3 because it wouldve burnt up his time and he wouldnt have been able to teach the boys fusion at that rate. vegeta is dead and goku is alive and they still fused. also the elder kai stated once fused you cant fuse again[1 set of people fuse then another set fuse then those 2 fusions fuse] he specifically stated that cant happen.
I'm sure everyone's already said it but Vegito which is stupid when it's Vegetto is bread from the Japanese names Bejita and Kakarotto.
But yeah just know that all fusions and future fusions have their own personality and aren't dominant by anyone

Vegeta is complaining about Goku holding back Super Saiyan 3 during their battle, saying he humiliated him by doing that. Vegeta would have been humiliated regardless since Goku would again come out on top and the fact that not even Babidi’s evil magic gave him the edge that he desired over Goku.

Also super buu (gohan absorbed is the strongest buu) and gohan is the strongest (unfused character this arc)

I'm just going to preface this by saying that base form Vegitto could *easily* body Buu. And there is a reason why the fight isn't over yet. You will see in due time.

Huh, so they didn't cut the base Vegetto filler. In the manga which Kai was supposed to imitate, Vegetto immediately went Super Saiyan.
Some filler can be difficult to cut out.
