    Added hotword support tonight. Also added support for DMK URI (Asterisk/Allstar), NWDR UDRC. The days of DTMF are over. More videos soon covering each platform install.

      Can you share any source or instructions for this?
      I've been dreaming of doing this to allow functionality particularly with repeaters that filter out dtmf.

    OMG...it's is brilliant! The coolest thing to come to repeaters in a very long time! Are you going to share the setup for others to try?

      If you know of a repeater with a good coverage area an IRLP system attached let me know and might be able to remote in and do the install.

      I haven't been very active on TH-cam recently but almost ready to offer the "flash this SD image" to get this going on various platforms. This is working perfectly with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. There's more ham apps for Alexa than Google such as being able to ask it for callsign info.

      Sounds good. Probably will have another update after this weekend. Added full Android support now so can do anything Android/Google Play by voice.

      Super job! I had done something similar with Amazon Echo. My concern was that somebody might be able to turn on music or news or other stuff that's not allowed on amateur radio. Do you have limits on the sort of things that can be done, to keep it legal? Also, since you are IRLP, can we try your system via IRLP?

    Wow! This is cool. Seems like a natural fit for DMR in particular, since most DMR repeaters are already linked via internet. Where to find the code for this?

  • @Power-Ads
    @Power-Ads 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    QUESTION??? I have been looking at doing something like this, But how do you guard against someone playing music or asking it to play a radio station, that would just lock up the system. Sure it would time out at some point, but it wouldn't reset because Google or Alexa would just keep playing. Tks W8WIN Tom

    • @WilliamFranzin
      @WilliamFranzin  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because this isn't a Google/Amazon hardware product the assistant code is monitored in real-time. Both for speech to text containing specific words or phases that when matched halt the code and unkey and overall run time was limited to 90 seconds before the process is ended and radio unkeys.

    Will this work on a Allstar/IRLP node? And I looked for the info on get-hub. Is it still available?

    • @WilliamFranzin
      @WilliamFranzin  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jay, it will work on any platform that can support voice. With Allstar you'll need to use ALSA instead of the usual USB setup to share audio hardware and Asterisk AGI/API commands for PTT on/off. I haven't had much time to look at this since posting these videos last year.

    • @Jays620
      @Jays620 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi William, Yeah I guess it wont work on my system then cause I'm using a USB to a Rim light. I wish I could get it to work tho. Be nice to have. How hard is it to setup?

    • @WilliamFranzin
      @WilliamFranzin  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jays620 I'll have to get one of those, have used the URI. It's just the development example modified for PTT control. The challenge with RIM/URI and Allstar is sharing the audio hardware with different sample rates being used.

    • @Jays620
      @Jays620 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WilliamFranzin URI and Rim lite work the same. No different. In fact all the setting are the same. You can unplug one and plug the other in and not have to change a thing.

    Can I access it thow the irlp

    • @WilliamFranzin
      @WilliamFranzin  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I've been using the local radio/repeater only. It would be possible to bridge the audio from the services running on a node or server (reflector etc) so that multiple nodes/radios could use it .. but with every node already connected to the Internet why not run local instances.
