An overview of the GTMedia V9 Prime Satellite Receiver. It’s a receiver available at a reasonable price for anyone starting out in the Satellite TV hobby. In this video I’ll give a general overview of the receiver, show how to add in a new satellite and transponder, and run a blindscan for channels. GTMedia makes a V7, V8, and V9 lines of receivers with varying models for each.

If you use the 1/8 AV plug, is it always mono? Can I use existing shielded stereo plugs for mono and picture, which I already have?
Good question. I think some 1/8” to RCA Y-adapters might actually have stereo output. I’d have to check the receiver specs to see if the output is mono or stereo.
The ones you have should work if you have a 1/8” to RCA adapter to mate them to, if I’m understanding you correctly.

Best regards, I follow you from Colombia, I bought a Deco GTmedia V9 Prime. How do I configure it so that the Amazonas satellite captures me?
At about 1:40 in the video I show how to add in a satellite. I believe the Amazonas satellite is already programmed in to the receiver. You must make sure your dish is aimed correctly at the satellite you wish to receive, and that the LNB oscillator frequency matches the type of LNB You are using. Then run a blindscan. Adjust the dish in small increments, and rescan every time an adjustment is made.

Thanks for watching my channel.
The first thing is to run a blindscan for channels. If you get any transponders or channels, this will give you an idea of what satellite you are pointed at and determine what step to take next. Cross-reference the transponders you receive (if any) on Lyngsat to determine the satellite you’re pointing at:

If you get no channels on the blindscan, here’s some things to check:
Double check the LNB frequency in your receiver setup menu. It needs to match the L.O. Frequency on the label of the LNB. This depends on whether you are receiving C-Band or KU-Band channels. This is critical but is often overlooked.

Next, check to make sure the LNB power is ‘on’ in the receiver menu. Your LNB needs voltage to work.

Another possibility is that your dish needs to be re-aimed. Move the dish slowly, even a millimeter can make a big difference. Run a blindscan after every adjustment you make.

I know this is a lot of information, but take it step by step and don’t get discouraged or give up.
How is the 4.2.2 for video decoding
No 4:2:2 decoding on this receiver.
I have this unit. It keeps rebooting if any usb pen is connected at start, and I cannot get any FTA channel even though signal intensity is strong, there is never any signal quality. Firmware upgrade is impossible because it keeps connecting/disconnecting usb pen or reboots by itself. Not to mention that it has randoms reboots and black screens often.
I haven’t had those types of issues with mine.

Galaxy 19 is known as the satellite for international radio and TV channels. If you’re looking for something different, it’s worth checking out. If you’re looking for American programs, try satellite 103 West (NBC), or 87 and 125 West have PBS. All KU Band.

At least a 33 inch dish with either a standard or universal KU Band LNB. A bigger dish is better. Thanks for watching!

@@88s10Durango The V7 does not decode HEVC H.265 video, but the V8 does. Either receivers are good, and there’s only one satellite currently carrying HEVC channels on FTA anyway. Either type of LNB is fine for FTA satellite in North America A 39” dish is a good starter dish for KU Band.

I believe it can be used for streaming. But you have to attach a 4G dongle to the receiver through the USB.

At 1:21 those satellites are for Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia.
Exactly why I demonstrated how to add in a satellite and Transponder. GTMedia receivers never have North American satellites added in, except for Galaxy 19 normally (but not this time).

Hi,
I live in Belgium and I have one. It is connected in ftth and despite that youtube is unviewable because it freezes every few seconds. The sat>ip is not usable either. The application on android is full of artifacts, when it wants to start well. With vlc ditto the video stream is constantly interrupted. I watch French channels on W5A in acm/vcm. The reception is good but without usable sat>ip this receiver is useless for me. I don't recommend the GTMedia V9 Prime because the advertised features are not there.

All this time and effort just so you can get a bunch of weird mega church channels, QVC, HSN and random foreign language talk shows that nobody even watches in the given country itself.
Not everyone can receive over the air stations with a TV antenna. Rural viewers also often don’t have internet that is fast enough for streaming video. That’s where FTA satellite can help. The channel selection isn’t as good but, it is what it is.
