I would normally tell Linus to not review something like this, but these things are amazing, they scan so fast, so perfect and they last. One of our clients scan more than 50 docs a day! Scans PDFs directly to a network drive within seconds. Doublesided scanner. Highly reccomended.
linus you have changed so much from your 1st video. its been 4 years, you changed from a teenager like a small kid, like you were 19 or 20 at that time to now where you are married and are mature and you are like the boss in the place where you work. when you new in ncix i feel like you were given the least attention and were often scolded for minor mistakes and your boss always wanted to point out your mistakes. (this is what i think after watching your first and last videos)
@SecretName25 Resolution, maximum supported sheet size, scan speed, but in the end, it's the software that makes the huge difference in price. This scanner is more for professional use (i.e. small businesses).
@TalesOfWar You missed the point. The point is that you need a $500 scanner. What I said was merely a suggestion. You don't have to buy gaming parts. You can pay bills buy a cheaper scanner, whatever. Point is, you don't need a 500$ scanner.
I had scan ~3600 pages of booklets recently, manually flipping pages to get both sides and I'm still not done with the other pages. Carrier sheet... no thanks. Auto organising software for previously bundle pages would be super.
@LinusTechTips it feels nice having a great person like you to reply to me, by the way i forgot your birthdate . I am a 13 year old boy and i want to become like you when i grow up . but your first videos were funny anyway they were nice.
Hi guys, is it possible to ask a technical question? I’m quite happy with my S1500M, which I rarely use. Last time though it refused to scan. (What happened: Power on - blue light - try to scan - flashing orange light - Hardware failure 0xD004000E) I think, it fell down after the last time I used it, but no ratteling. 😞 Any Ideas?
@spam4just Man, this is his personal youtube channel, so if he was "forced" to do a review of this on NCIXtechtips and broght the unboxing here, is because he thinks this is a good product. I mean, c'mon it's his job and the tech world is not only made of graphics cards, motherboards and processors. If you do anything with a computer besides gaming this is a nice product to have in your office.
@ctoon6 I paid $389 for mine. Fact that it's footprint is smaller than a phone book, ease of use, great design, excellent software and parts availability make it a great small business scanner. So you keep thinking it's a waste of money. Until you use it you really have no opinion on it.
Wow, this product, well, sucks! When you unfold it, it take the same space as a standard scanner, meaning that you still have to move around things and prepare working space for it. You can't scan documents that been snapped together book style. If you ever need to scan a book, magazine, some hard plastic cards, you'll be out of luck and still have to use a standard scanner (in a business environment you frequently have to scan rule-books, yearbooks, journals, catalogs, etc.).
I realise a lot of people think this sucks, but that's because you are twelve years and do not work in the world of business yet. These scanners are so worth their cash it's ridiculous. Fuck the Iphone, it's a POS, buy this instead. Digitising contacts is a tedious process. This fixes that. Scanning in documents and removing/highlighting/indexing it is tedious. Now it isn't. Sure, most of the time you need to create copies to do so, but it works. Hell, printing and marking would be faster too!
@Thegreatestgtafanboy My early videos are so embarassing now...
I leave them up for the sake of archiving as much content as possible though :P
@spam4just Actually this thing looks pretty cool now that I've played with it a bit :)
I think its great to see unboxings of other products, this one certainly got my attention.

Still waiting for the 8170 scanner review 😢
I would love to have the scan to text thing, would be really awesome for my school and work. Too bad it's so costly
Linus, u used ur cheat sheet.
Apparently u haven't mastered the art of Fujitsu!
this is an excellent scanner. the moblie version is good also and bit cheaper. more useful than you might realize.

Isn't this the reason why twain was introduced? So you can use any twain compatible application to scan stuff
It's a good product, but why should I consider buying this? When I can get a Multi Functional device that can scan, print, copy for pretty good price.

Does this scanner work in Windows 10? Does it have windows 10 drivers? Please, let me know (quick if you can). Thanks.
Linus, you dissapoint me, i didn't hear Megahertz / Gigahertz once!
What is this reaction thing? I selected incredible :P
pretty cool, I would want that since I am a signcrafter =)
@Thegreatestgtafanboy I been doing videos for 4 years too, do I get a pat on the back?
Theres stuff like this in infomercials for 19.99 but wait, if you call in the next 30 minutes you'll get two! I don't see what makes this worth 500...
I want one of those, but I have no use for it...
@spam4just sounds like we need moar MOOOOOOOOVEEEMENT MOOOOOOOOOVEEEMENT
why does everyone hate apply products?
He forgot something on the back. a kensington lock

A Scanner's a scanner. I don't really need a 500 dollar scanner when I can build a decent gaming rig with that much money.
@UKGamerVideos now there is 25 dislikes. you just had to wake them up did you?
Nice scanner :D
linus i have hp printer/scanner and i cant even scan my fucking ids in 1:1 size -.- when i scan something its resized to A4 format -.-

Who the hell pays 500 bucks for a scanner.. A 100 dollar 3-in-1 works fine too..
OMG it's a transformer scanner o.O
I hope Linus does this stuff until he dies.
@ctoon6 Only people who can't afford things call them a waste of money.
i like the intro 'couse i have time to read the title ;P
@LinusTechTips Hard to believe lol.
I hated the camera handling in this video.
Not sure the price is justified... Oh well.
