I don't want the 2010s to end. My childhood, the time I learned to laugh at the new and cry at the old. The 2010s were the era of Minecraft, and without it, some of us would be completely different people. SkydoesMinecraft would have never done Minecraft. Stampy wouldn't have his Love Garden to add to everyday. DanTDM would have never done Diamond Dimensions. Popularmmos would have never done The Crafting Dead series. These people would be in diffrent places now if it weren't for Minecraft. It started TH-cam careers. Without Minecraft, most of these popular TH-camrs wouldn't be, well, popular. And Minecraft is still doing it. New generations of TH-camrs have played Minecraft and got popular. Minecraft may make another return, perhaps. But for now, check on your dogs often because you never know when you will forget to log on for the last time. It's crazy to think that such a game would sweep the world and start childhoods, but here we are, crying over a series of piano notes, because we care.

I was traumatised that i cant be able to play on that world so I had to take it into my own hands to relive the past as i didn't want to lose it. So one advice i have for you buddy, don't let some stupid world corruption erase some of your memories.

They’re sad because most people see nostalgia as a sad emotional thing. Especially when people that were in their teen years when Minecraft was at its peak are in the 20s now with jobs, some even married with kids. As much as they agree that these are good memories, thats what generates the sadness. When they compare their busy lives now, it makes their childhood seem like much more of a utopia than is probably seemed like at the time, thus why you often hear the quote “We didn’t know we were making memories we just knew we were having fun”. To many people this is a major element of what made up their childhood so it’s understandable why they feel this way.
A couple days ago I went on to one of my oold worlds with my brother and remembered all the good times, we sailed out to look for a village to get stuff from the villagers and found the island that had the stronghold underneath, we went down the stairs and looked around, so many memories. We then built a new house and thought "have fun while you can" I will never leave minecraft. Those times aren't over, we still play in 1.12, before all the updates and when time was simpler. I’ll never forget the time when me and my sister and cousins wanted to build a sky world in Minecraft PE. I was 8 years old. I’m 15 now. We spent 6 hours straight building the world on our iPod touches. They are all older and in college now. The other day I found my iPod touch and found Minecraft on it. I logged on and found the world that I made with my family all those years ago. I shed some tears and then called them all up to tell them what I had found. It was a happy moment but also a sad one that I won’t forget. Thank you Minecraft and my childhood for everything.

This game holds a special place in all our hearts I have been playing it since I was 6 and now I'm almost 16 Crazy to think how a single block game changed and shaped my personality and life.
i used to love this song when i was a kid after listening to the sweden one, i cried. i've grown up, not having time to play. it took me back to my childhood when we trolled each other and griefed our houses. this song made me also cry. not because of my memories, but because this song represented my childhood, and this song made me look back all the fun i had. i remembered my minecraft world. my dog... waiting, for me. waiting for nothing. hope. hope is what my dog has. hope that i will come back. his hope will last long until the day i come back.
It just makes me want to cry, sometimes I really have a close connection to a pet in Minecraft, and losing it would devastate me. One time I had a dog in my world named bubba, which is what I called my grandpa who passed in 2009. My only reason to keep playing on that world isn’t to keep adding on to it, but to keep bubba company and keep him safe.

This brings back so many good memories. I had a friend, KeKeTheDomo. He's Japanese and came to America for 5 years, 3rd-7th grade. It took me a while to get to know him, it wasnt until 5th grade really. He was my best friend for the 3 years I knew him here and we played Minecraft together all the time, I even bought the ps3 version so we could play local co-op. He eventually had to move back to Japan and playing together became difficult. I'd stay up till 2 am just to see if he could get on. Due to the intensity of japanese schooling it became less and less frequent. Since then I've lost my Skype account which was my only way to communicate with him. Years later and still, every time I launch Minecraft he's the first thing I think of. Just launched Mineplex again to check "Last seen 998.1 days ago". Theres one world he'll never leave... Edit: I got my Skype back and hit him up, now we wait Edit: Still waiting. Most likely he womt see it, and if he does it probably wont be for a while. I get that feeling too. I think these songs wake the happy memories from playing the game back in the day, often together with friends, after school, with no pressure whatsoever. It's that memory, that nostalgia that makes it so heart-wrenching. When I then go back to play again though, I notice again why I stopped. I've just seen all this game has to offer to me personally. I've experienced so much, playing Minecraft now will never feel the same as it used to.
This is the type of music I remember, i used to play minecraft with my brothers and our really good friend who thought he was our actual brother. Man I remember when it was my birthday my mom took me to GameStop and bought me a 360 with black ops and Minecraft, and it was the 360 slim with built in WiFi. All of my friends had the same one so I added all of them as soon as I got home and set it up. I remember I would stay up super late on school nights playing call of duty and Minecraft with my friends, I would also play Minecraft with my cousins as well. All of us were so carefree, we had nothing to worry about in the world except worrying about what we were gonna play or what we were gonna do after school. 2010-2016 were the days I wish I could go back and relive, especially the summer nights when that gust of cool air would go through your open window, and the sound of crickets and frogs out in the distance while playing Minecraft or COD. I’m still happy to say that my friend group moved over to gaming pcs and we still enjoy playing games with each other like we used to as kids. But we’ve obviously don’t have enough time like we used to. We’ve grown up now we’re adults now with responsibilities it’s a tough world out there, but as long as I got my friends we can still enjoy life. Mice on Venus will always be that song that will always bring me back to those days. I am glad to see that there are others in the comments that shared the same experience as me. :)

I don't want the 2010s to end. My childhood, the time I learned to laugh at the new and cry at the old. The 2010s were the era of Minecraft, and without it, some of us would be completely different people. SkydoesMinecraft would have never done Minecraft. Stampy wouldn't have his Love Garden to add to everyday. DanTDM would have never done Diamond Dimensions. Popularmmos would have never done The Crafting Dead series. These people would be in diffrent places now if it weren't for Minecraft. It started TH-cam careers. Without Minecraft, most of these popular TH-camrs wouldn't be, well, popular. And Minecraft is still doing it. New generations of TH-camrs have played Minecraft and got popular. Minecraft may make another return, perhaps. But for now, check on your dogs often because you never know when you will forget to log on for the last time. It's crazy to think that such a game would sweep the world and start childhoods, but here we are, crying over a series of piano notes, because we care.

I was traumatised that i cant be able to play on that world so I had to take it into my own hands to relive the past as i didn't want to lose it. So one advice i have for you buddy, don't let some stupid world corruption erase some of your memories.

N O B O D Y be realistic, they’re obviously not 13 saying stuff about “10 years later this and that…” they were 3 years old a decade ago.
They’re sad because most people see nostalgia as a sad emotional thing. Especially when people that were in their teen years when Minecraft was at its peak are in the 20s now with jobs, some even married with kids. As much as they agree that these are good memories, thats what generates the sadness. When they compare their busy lives now, it makes their childhood seem like much more of a utopia than is probably seemed like at the time, thus why you often hear the quote “We didn’t know we were making memories we just knew we were having fun”. To many people this is a major element of what made up their childhood so it’s understandable why they feel this way.

A couple days ago I went on to one of my oold worlds with my brother and remembered all the good times, we sailed out to look for a village to get stuff from the villagers and found the island that had the stronghold underneath, we went down the stairs and looked around, so many memories. We then built a new house and thought "have fun while you can" I will never leave minecraft. Those times aren't over, we still play in 1.12, before all the updates and when time was simpler. You don’t even realize how hard that single line hits after going receiving my college admission and starting my next adventure alone.
I’ll never forget the time when me and my sister and cousins wanted to build a sky world in Minecraft PE. I was 8 years old. I’m 15 now. We spent 6 hours straight building the world on our iPod touches. They are all older and in college now. The other day I found my iPod touch and found Minecraft on it. I logged on and found the world that I made with my family all those years ago. I shed some tears and then called them all up to tell them what I had found. It was a happy moment but also a sad one that I won’t forget. Thank you Minecraft and my childhood for everything.
My cousin, sister and I used to spend hours upon hours playing minecraft pe. It brought us so much joy. We tried playing together on our computers a few weeks ago but it just wasn’t the same. I don’t know why.

It just makes me want to cry, sometimes I really have a close connection to a pet in Minecraft, and losing it would devastate me. One time I had a dog in my world named bubba, which is what I called my grandpa who passed in 2009. My only reason to keep playing on that world isn’t to keep adding on to it, but to keep bubba company and keep him safe.

This brings back so many good memories.
I had a friend, KeKeTheDomo. He's Japanese and came to America for 5 years, 3rd-7th grade. It took me a while to get to know him, it wasnt until 5th grade really. He was my best friend for the 3 years I knew him here and we played Minecraft together all the time, I even bought the ps3 version so we could play local co-op. He eventually had to move back to Japan and playing together became difficult. I'd stay up till 2 am just to see if he could get on. Due to the intensity of japanese schooling it became less and less frequent. Since then I've lost my Skype account which was my only way to communicate with him. Years later and still, every time I launch Minecraft he's the first thing I think of. Just launched Mineplex again to check "Last seen 998.1 days ago".
Theres one world he'll never leave...

The song title “mice on Venus” is an apparent reference to the track “cats on mars” from the Cowboy Bebop OST. Cats on Mars is very light and happy, it gives the impression of a chase montage in a kids cartoon or a comedy backing track. I get that feeling too. I think these songs wake the happy memories from playing the game back in the day, often together with friends, after school, with no pressure whatsoever. It's that memory, that nostalgia that makes it so heart-wrenching. When I then go back to play again though, I notice again why I stopped. I've just seen all this game has to offer to me personally. I've experienced so much, playing Minecraft now will never feel the same as it used to.

This is the type of music I remember, i used to play minecraft with my brothers and our really good friend who thought he was our actual brother. The sad thing is his mom, Eve her heart was too big and she ended up passing away from a heart attack and i havent seen my friend in like 7 years now because eves grandparents blamed it on eve’s boyfriend for her death and i live with him so thats why we havent seen him in forever. Devin if your reading this i miss you.

The first time I heard this track I was exploring the snow biome and it started snowing. It was beautiful.

Man I remember when it was my birthday my mom took me to GameStop and bought me a 360 with black ops and Minecraft, and it was the 360 slim with built in WiFi. All of my friends had the same one so I added all of them as soon as I got home and set it up. I remember I would stay up super late on school nights playing call of duty and Minecraft with my friends, I would also play Minecraft with my cousins as well. All of us were so carefree, we had nothing to worry about in the world except worrying about what we were gonna play or what we were gonna do after school. 2010-2016 were the days I wish I could go back and relive, especially the summer nights when that gust of cool air would go through your open window, and the sound of crickets and frogs out in the distance while playing Minecraft or COD. I’m still happy to say that my friend group moved over to gaming pcs and we still enjoy playing games with each other like we used to as kids. But we’ve obviously don’t have enough time like we used to. We’ve grown up now we’re adults now with responsibilities it’s a tough world out there, but as long as I got my friends we can still enjoy life. Mice on Venus will always be that song that will always bring me back to those days. I am glad to see that there are others in the comments that shared the same experience as me. :)
