The skeleton on the back of the yukata is a Gashadokuro, a giant skeleton yokai that eats peoples heads and drinks their blood. The art itself is a recreation of Utagawa kuniyoshi's "Souma no furudairi" or "Takiyasha the Witch and the Skeleton Spirit".
I think Mezco needs to up the accessories. Some things I think that are needed with this Gomez are Alternate feet, a large yumi style bow, Samurai style armor/headgear(since the antennae are removable they could plug into the helmet), straw style hat, more ninja/samurai weapons, a rack/altar to store the swords and armor. The rack display would be a perfect place to also show off that sweet looking board. Also change the backpack to a woven branch style pack. I love how you use blood effects in your photos, maybe you could talk mezco into adding in some of those instead of the weapon effects they gave with agent and street gomez.
ExatyExactly as a UK collector we can't even get a sniff of Gomez or exclusived limited editions unless were going to pay 3 times the price. These scalpers aren't real fans.

If they made this figure in any real numbers the chances of it selling I would say are slim to none. When you deliberately make a figure like this in short numbers it seems to me the whole idea is to try and artificially create demand for it, because they certainly aren’t selling enough to make a profit from it. Most people I don’t think are interested in this figure because they want like the 5th version of the companies mascot, they want it cause it’s been seemingly made hard to get and they think it’s going to become worth a lot. Do you honestly think if they made this figure in significant numbers that anyone could buy at anytime, anyone would care that much about it??? I don’t, and I think mezco would end up with a warehouse filled with unsold product.
@@JayCTNI Normally, I would agree with you. But this is the 4th incarnation of their mascot and it sold out in seconds. The only thing that stays in their inventory long are the big headed figures and those horror movies dolls(probably because horror isn't as big of a draw for a lot of collectors) One12 collective figures sell very well and very fast. And Gomez has sold out much faster than alot of their exclusives. Partly thanks to personalities like you(if you are the toynews Jay-C) and D-Amazing, giving it great publicity. I highly doubt that a standard release Gomez will be a shelf warmer at this point, maybe a year ago I'd agree, but after so much exposure and incarnations, no.
I clicked on this video because I had no idea who theese guys were. I know of Mezco , i own a Popeye Mezco toy from 2002 and there is a picture of a little roach on the cardboard. You learn something new every day
Seems a bit sparse in terms of accessories...a flag and 3 swords...wow, great...the red hi-tops look ridiculous too, it's like Mezco are constantly going back and forth on his identity, I thought the hi-tops were part of the trademark look after the first 2 but they quickly changed with the Ninja and Stealth Gomez both having appropriate footwear for the theme so I don't understand why Lone Roach has gone back to hi-tops and not the Asian style sandals, just makes me wish they'd given Agent Gomez smart dress shoes to match the outfit :/ Was hoping to finally see a white/grey skull with Lone Roach too which they seemed to have now dropped entirely from the Gomez line. Being in the UK I was tempted to pay the extortionate import fees for this one at first until seeing how weak of a package this is, not so sure now, expected more. Going by the little animation they teased with I was half expecting a double pack with an enemy considering they showed Skull villains with red kimonos in the video, which don't seem to exist as Gomez's kimono is grey...
Also a UK collector, Mezco aren't showing much love to the UK collectors with the Gomez line. They need a decent amount and a UK distributor. Hell package him up with a mezco tshirt and a magazine equals to the import cost and i know collectors will buy it.

Lately it's just been one Mezco US exclusive too many and they're still allowing scalpers to buy more than one at a time and refusing to manufacture more of these 'chase figures', on top of noticeable price creeps lately in the UK for One:12s it's enough to push me away. I'm not engaging the company anymore with my money or interest until they sort themselves out and rethink their treatment of their overseas fans. I'll be supporting smaller, lesser known design teams instead for my 1/12 scale needs.

It's primarily thanks to D-amazing's review of street Gomez that I got into it. Crazy accessories,the clothes fit better, the articulation improved and it's an anthropomorphic Roach as an action hero! I figured:"its their property,how hard can it be to get?". Sooo I've spent the whole year chasing after ANY version of this guy at a decent price. I finally was able to get PSCC and gave in to Ebay for Lone Roach. Point is, Mezco, in order to generate buzz among collectors, has resorted to pretty predatory business practices to achieve that goal. From the punisher fiasco to their exclusive line up. I hope next year their business practices improve but I am not holding my breath. And I won't be slightly surprised that ppl stop collecting their stuff altogether out of frustration.
fantastic photos D! You can really bring those figures to life, so much so for a moment I wish I could have one, even though I do not really collect much (my own choice). Anyhow, the poster is also a great addition, if I ever bought this figure, I'd definitely frame it and display along with the figure.

Great video but there is one piece of constructive criticism I have to make. At 9:00-9:05 only one of those swords is a katana. The shorter blade is a wakizashi. No offence, that's just kind of a pet peeve of mine.
Since he works for Mezco(I'm not sure), he might have gotten it for a decent price. But for the rest of us, Ebay. For a kidney, half of a liver and a right eye...($500-$1000).
