Huh, with that underwater creeper I wondered at first if there was some sort of subscriber sound effect. Don’t know how it got there as I don’t think they can spawn in a water source block. Guess it spawned in an air pocket?
Yeah, it's because of the Java non-waterlogging of Doors. In Sunken Ships the Door creates a two block tall airspace, which gives allows any mob that can spawn in that space a place to do so. Given that Mojang increased Creeper spawning and the fact that it's one of two mobs that can spawn there it makes sense that we'll start seeing that more. Could be funny for speedruns.
@@TheKingofkrypton I didn’t realize creepers could spawn in door blocks as I thought they needed a full air block (or something like grass that has no collision). But I guess they do.
@@TheKingofkrypton maybe the creeper spawned up on the top of the mast and then had enough downward momentum when falling into the ocean to get stuck under the trapdoors?
This nomad lifestyle is very limited due to the inventory so I'd be curious to see you play with a backpack mod so you could carry more stuff with you.
There's also a cool mod I used once that lets you build a tent and then carry it with you. And you can go inside it and its like a little pocket dimension that you have enough space to build a small room inside your "tent". Very fun.
Oliver you need to figure out coordinates so you don't get lost and you will never need a compass.. you can write down your coordinates for your house and even when you go into the nether you can write down your coordinates to the portal.
I feel like an entire pack of lots of different mods would be overwhelming for someone still new to vanilla. Maybe just one big mod with tons of new content would be good? Also ideally it would be something you can figure out just by playing and not have to read a wiki or look at guides. Any ideas?
@@cleverman383 Depends on what he likes, I doubt that Create or Immersive Engineering are good for him/for streams, and most adventure mods are usually kind of small. The power of modpacks is that they not only have content mods, but also nice utility mods, such as auto inventory sorting, item search, trash slot, backpacks etc. The only big enough mods that come to my mind are The Betweenlands and Twilight Forest. Also TerraFirmaCraft, never played it though. But they are all on 1.12. And when you play 1.12, you usually want much more mods to compensate for the missing content from 1.13-1.21. RL Craft does this well.
@@cleverman383Also, good modpacks always have quests, progression system and item recipes, so it's pretty realistic to complete them without ever opening the Wiki.
@@FireF1y644 Hmm.. good points. Another thing about Oliver is he doesn't like open-ended games. He was only able to play Minecraft the first time because someone told him there's an ending so he set the goal of getting to the credits. So maybe one of those modpack with a questbook you have to progress through and complete?
@cleverman383 I think Twilight Forest would be a good one for him. It has an initial quest for the items to get there and quest book. Also it is mostly self-contained in the Twilight Forest dimension so I think he may have an easier time separating what is part of the mod and what is part of vanilla Minecraft.
"We got penguins" I never laughed so much in a TH-cam video before, the naturality on the way he said it just destroyed me.

Oliver you need to figure out coordinates so you don't get lost and you will never need a compass.. you can write down your coordinates for your house and even when you go into the nether you can write down your coordinates to the portal.
The game is designed so that you don't need to play with co-ordinates. The compass becomes useless if you can just look at the co-ords to find 0,0
@@cleverman383 yeah its much more fun seeing him play without the f3 screen.
I hope he plays RL Craft or DawnCraft modpacks one day, vanilla is a little challenge and not so much content
You remind me of Jerma sometimes. Inspired perhaps?
we've mentioned it to him before, he has no idea who jerma is lol
