When ropeway was designed installed ,local extreme wind load needs to be considered during operation of the ropeway so that safe distance is there between trolleys in case of gust of wind and operating wind speed should be indicated in operation of ropeway manual. Also when there was heavy wind,the operation ropeway should have been delayed /stopped and this accident could have been avoided. Also periodic maintenance and load limit during operation of ropeway should be followed for Safety of the people and machinery.

They probably didn't took the account of the natural frequency of the mountain and effect of wind speed on the rocks' natural frequency. Some profs from BIT Mesra did the survey of this ropeway and found out that it vibrates too much and its a problem.

We want to use the machinery ,houses and enjoy them . We in India we forget their periodic maintenance as machinery,building do not speak & complain as they are non living things. But they give indications like high noise ,cracks in building ,falling of plaster etc. We neglect above indications. So for our Safety we should do periodic maintenance and repair of machines,buildings etc. for their long service & human Safety. If we take care of them they will take care of us.
