    The main difference to the "big" ones is, that they convert a turning movement into 90° turns (like Sariels). While yours converts push movements into 90° degree turns. Thats why its so much smaller. Still cool build though...

    • @legotechnicmastery
      @legotechnicmastery  6 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      Yes, you're right, and I've also made another compact version of 90° stepper converting rotations, HERE : th-cam.com/video/k42vgadEdOE/w-d-xo.html

    • @legotechnicmastery
      @legotechnicmastery  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Oh, it can be used to shift gears in a gearbox as well as for any application requiring regular shifts.. in a clock for example, or maybe GBC guys could find an application for it, Who knows !?

    This design is very nice and compact, my rubber band was a bit bigger so the normal way didn’t work but the design worked just by moving the rubber band to strap from the lever to the bottom rod thing and worked just fine. 10/10

    • @legotechnicmastery
      @legotechnicmastery  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At first, Lego steppers were introduced to shift gears in a specific sequence in "sequential" gearboxes !
      Here's an example of gearbox that uses a stepper : th-cam.com/video/XMSa7CriFQM/w-d-xo.html
      I also realy recommend you watching this short video of a stepper on a sequential gearbox HERE : th-cam.com/video/HwkWFurMiM0/w-d-xo.html
      Besides that, a stepper can be used in a clock to make the pointer move by small increments.
      I believe there are tons of application for such a design ! I'm now letting people imagine how they can use it.
      Let me know if you want to know anything else, I'm always happy to help ;)

      You can do a lot of things with this mechanism !
      You can use it to shift gears in a gearbox, I'd use it to shift the hand in a clock, Or even move a conveyor belt, step by step !
