Everyone had been diving for two days and had seen most of the highlights, so on the third day, we were all feeling super relaxed, ready to see what other surprises Palau had in store for us. On our way to Blue Corner, we got incredibly lucky and encountered dolphins! They swam and played alongside our boat, making the trip even more magical.
Today, we headed to the Blue Corner Plateau, a spot I had been really looking forward to. I had specifically asked the dive guide to take us there. The last time I visited in 2019, I had so much fun on this plateau that I almost ran out of air in my tank. The underwater stars here are everywhere, with an abundance of fish.
During this dive, Xiao Fen saw an eagle ray for the first time and swam with it for several minutes. It was definitely one of her most beautiful moments in Palau. Our second dive was at Turtle Cove. I had previously found this spot to be less impressive, with not many fish, so I asked the dive guide if we could skip it. However, the dive guide recommended it because of the unique Blue Hole-like entry and the beautiful turtles and walls we would see afterward. We decided to give it a try. After the dive, I explained to the dive guide that in Taiwan, we often see turtles and are familiar with wall diving, so Turtle Cove wasn’t particularly exciting for us. In Palau, there are probably more sharks than turtles, so seeing turtles is a special treat.
For lunch, we stopped at a sandbank where we played around, enjoying the stunning scenery and the refreshing sea breeze, with laughter all around. For our last dive of the day, we returned to German Channel to see if we could spot manta rays at the cleaning station. During the off-season, the visibility in German Channel is low, and the chances of seeing mantas are slim. After a brief 15-minute wait, we wandered around the channel, completing our third dive of the day.
Palau is beautiful both above and under the water. Today was another fantastic day!
