David Phelps, only, could do the job he did on this song. He is so special. You can tell he loves our God, so much, just by the way he delivers his songs to us! I never get tired of listening, and watching him. When God was trying to decide who to bless with this incredible voice, he knew David would be perfect for it...and he is!!! I totally agree with everything you said about David. It is GOD'S greatest gift He gave David and I'm so honored& fortunate to listen to David Phelps. I listen to him every day on my phone, DVD player and in my car. I have over 50 Gaither DVD'S. I chose the ones that I know David has a big part. Praying for stimulus then I will go to my David Phelps app and make a huge order. I especially listen to David before I go to bed. Then his singing is in my thoughts throughout the night🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I’ve been to numerous DVD tapings of David solo and with the GVB. This one was probably my favorite. The atmosphere in the studio that night was so much fun. Like a huge party!!
I love David’s versatility. If you were to say bluegrass he is not the first singer that comes to mind. I love his version of this. The pure and simple album is one of my favorites, he has several great songs on it
David's vocal agility singing this song is amazing. This was taken from the Vocal Band's DVD "Pure & Simple". Absolutely amazing DVD. Have you done "One Voice/Where No One Stands Alone" from that DVD? One Voice is a cappella with perfect harmony. Hope you can listen to it.
There sure is something special about this concert but I don’t think it’s what he’s wearing. The instruments are different. More country feeling. So The whole sound of the songs is different. The tempo of the songs so far is more laidback. His voice is softer, he doesn’t look for the higher register and the belting notes. And there is this constant slow perpetuem mobile rythm in the piano or the guitar/mandoline that resonates with your heart. So this is really comforting. Love this concert so far!
If you happen to watch this again concentrate on watching Bill Gaither he doesn’t move a muscle during the whole song and that is so unusual for him because he hardly ever sit still for a minute
This was Pure and Simple. I think it's the definition of, David Phelps cannot be pigeonholed. There is no way to say he is this genre or that and he can only do this, that or the other. I love this concert it’s GVB Pure & Simple they are more relaxed and funny it’s great! I just found it a week ago and I watch it every night. You should react to Glorious Freedom oh my gosh David is out of this world holding notes!!!! The first night I watched it I pushed rewind 10 times.

David's voice is captivating. That was a perfect expression of how I feel at a concert. You literally are waiting to exhale. You get very quiet and wait with anticipation for the next note. The first time I heard "The Lily" it got very still at the end of the song. I think we just weren't ready for the song to be over. After a few moments everyone burst into applause. Each concert is a great experience. God truly blessed David with an amazing voice, It is obvious that David has a love for people and the message he delivers through song. Thank you for choosing to do a week with David Phelps. I enjoy your reactions.
I loved that.........so different from his usual songs.....very country and even had that 'twang' to his voice.....glad he didn't continue with growing his beard.........Not that there's anything wrong with that lol....I prefer smooth cheeks....of course some can look amazing with beards cough...lol
