  • This mini documentary examines the history of how racial restrictive covenants developed, who fought against them, and how they were legally struck down in Los Angeles, California and eventually the nation.

i never heard that term "orange curtain" before - very educational. growing up Jewish in SoCal my mother warned me about how many white supremacist & neo-nazi groups had a lot of power in Orange County. it is still a really really racist and classist area, and very homogenous - i'm scared of OC. LA on the other hand, very diverse and welcoming. the culture shock between the two places is huge.

not just youth Tyrone....Everyone needs to understand our city's history imo....and not just its racial discord or harmony, if ever there was any harmony that is. California has an amazing history, prior and post annexation..a Rich history filled with all kinds of cultures...California was a meltin pot before it became part of the united states, and it remains so today.

Very informational. Now I understand why I was only shown certain neighborhoods when looking for a house to buy. Having grown up in the segregated South, I learned that the only difference between it and other areas outside the "south" was that there you know where you were not wanted. It was more subtle in the west, including Colorado where I lived for a while
    and California.

I would like to see more videos like this, they sadly don’t teach this in schools
