  • We spent the weekend after Thanksgiving camping at Garner State Park. This park is one of the most popular parks in the state of Texas. We enjoyed our time at the park and the beautiful Frio River.
    Thanks so much for watching!!

The Frio is looking good in fall. Another Hill Country river I absolutely love. Y’all had a blue bird day for your hike and the views from Old Baldy were beautiful. Thanks for sharing.❤

Enjoyed it! Food looked great. I need to be car camping with y'all.
The park looked beautiful. I love car camping when there isn't a big agenda. Kind of explore at a slow pace and hang around camp.
Also, get Craig a better wine opener for Christmas. I think he needs one with a lever. But I'm glad you got all that struggle on video.

The food was really good. We are definitely trying to do better in that area when we camp!! Come on along...the more the merrier!! It was a really nice relaxing weekend. Yeah, I think I will have to sneak a wine opener in Craig's stocking...he's getting a little old you know...lol! I told him after that I was definitely keeping the struggle in the video!!

Loved this one. The camp life footage and the awesome food was great. Tent camping the way it was meant to be. I suppose I have Craig to blame for your ulcers. Thanks for sharing and God bless you guys.

Thanks so much Jon!! You are why we include the camp life footage. A long time ago you asked us to include more of camp time and we've tried to do a little every time. After you requested it, I realized that's what I enjoy when I watch videos. It makes me feel as if I am there and that I can actually get to know the people. Thanks for watching and commenting!! Yeah, Craig is probably part of the reason I do have ulcers ... lol!!! God Bless you too Jon!!

Yes, we're trying to up our game in that area. We normally do the camping staples like steak, pork chops, or hot dogs. Those are all great, but they get old....LOL.

Frio river is my favorite river, and that potato soup was great !

It is really beautiful!! I would love to kayak during the spring or late summer on the Frio. The soup was really good especially for being the first time I've made it. Thanks for watching!!

beautiful vistas from the top of the trails and lots of good grub!.....I feel the need to get back into the woods!...I hope to get out into the woods soon!

It's a really beautiful area, but this park is really hard to get into to. It's extremely popular and therefore a lot of people...even in bad weather. You should definitely get back out in the woods!! It's good for all of us!!

We love the area. I just wish it wasn't always so crowded. It wasn't too bad this time, but there still weren't any vacant sites until Sunday. Sunday evening and Monday morning were absolutely great!!

LOL, you were getting ripe, I loved that. Great campsite and the views were beautiful up there. Dinner was looking so good, it made me hungry. Yummy. Nice and golden on top. Maggie probably enjoyed what you dropped LOL.

Nice shots along the River and the open editing was great. I was going to say something about those cliffs at 5:05, but it looks like you hiked them the next day.
What a fun place to explore.
    Take care!

Bugs are just extra protein! 🤣 Fun video. I've got to get down to Garner. It's one of the few I haven't been too.

Yeah, I guess you can look at it that way. If I don't see them, I'm fine....but when I see the bugs, they have to go!! Garner is beautiful, but if you get the chance, try to go during the week...like Monday or Tuesday. The weekends are absolutely packed even in bad weather.

What site number would you recommend? Thanks for a great video!

That's a great question!! I'm trying to figure out what site we were at....it was a pretty good site and not far from the water. If I figure it out I will add to this comment. I think most of the sites at this park are pretty good. I would definitely try to get close to the water especially if you go during warmer weather. Thanks so much for watching!!

Can anyone tent camp there? Or is it reservations only?
