As a noob to this game, I watch a considerably number of "HOW TO" video's. I came accross your's and have viewed each and everyone. Falling in love with it at every step of the way. The only one issue I had upon it's release to the world. Was being able to make it work as designed with a game pad. Though because of my age and abilities. Though it took some considerable amount of time. I finally got your my game pad configured to your mod. As far as I'm concerned, this mod is the one and only using a KB+M, HOTAS'S, WHEEL'S and now Game Pad. one should ever need if and when utilizeing a tree harvestor or processor.
You can tell that this is controlled by a player who works with these machines irl. Not only cause how smooth the movement is but also the way the driver decides to cut the tree , from what angle and such. Looks so good. But i bet everyone needs two joysticks now at home xD
I'm yet to try this script out, but this looks amazing. Until now, the closest to life experiance could only provide FDR mods, although functionally it was good (until platinum expantion broke it a little bit), visually it was straight up awful, so I had to drop forestry entirely. But this mod changes everything, thanks a lot
Hey man! Just wanna say you've done an awesome job with this mod, love using it and it's pretty close to the real thing. Also love what you've done with the "rotator mode" I think it's one of the best features, makes it feel very realistic when bunching trees that I think it would work super well with dangle grapples also, just an idea 😅 anyway congrats appreciate your attention for detail and efforts and will keep and eye open for more of your awesome mods! Keep it up
Thank you so much! Yes, I agree! The physical rotator is my favorite feature. I'm making some prototypes with more physical stuff like grapples and so on, so stay tuned!
Amazing mod! I've been waiting for something like that for a long time! Nevertheless I have a few recommendations for improovement: 1) I have set the controls for opening and closing the claw on an axis. When exiting the vehicle it seems not to work with the axis control anymore. 2) Took a while until I noticed that the settings are separated for each vehicle. It would be nice to be able to configure default settings. 3) Regarding the PE excavators. When modifying the vehicle configuration in the store it seems to reset the settings of the vehicle to default. I think it would be nice if the settings were saved.
Thanks for the feedback! Regarding point 1: yeah, it seems that the input binding system has a little bug or conflict (because the solution is pretty weird). If you don't need the open and close keyboard bindings delete those and it will work fine for your axis binding.
love this mod man. I have a thought tho Do you think it is possible to get color marking for the different assortments, for example if timber is marked blue and small timber marked pink, for example, so you could have different colors for different assortments so they are marked at each cut (register)? this is the only thing that i miss then this is actually like driving a real harvester :) Keep doing what you are doing man and I hope to see more mods from u in the future!

Amazing work! I operated a few wood harvesters in real life and I have to admit, the experience of cutting trees with this mod comes really close to the real life. As a modder and scripter myself, I can imagine how much work this was. How long did it take you to develop it? Keep up the great work! 💪 P.S.: I was a little annoyed because I released a script for an automatic cut program for harvesters just a few days before this, but that went away very quickly when I tried out your mod 😅
Thank you! It was a whole year of development. It's my first script mod, so I had to learn everything from scratch. I started developing all the features and options and then when I wanted to make it multiplayer compatible, it was a complete nightmare and I had to rewrite almost the entire script (after many hours trying to understand how multiplayer works etc). Your mods are awesome and I really enjoy your real life videos! Your script is pretty good for standard players, this one is pretty advanced and I don't think it will become very popular, but it's great to hear the positive feedback from IRL operators

And yes, I can confirm that making a script like this multiplayer supporting is a nightmare 😅 It took a long time to realize that for synchronizing the splitting, you have to send the data to the host that cuts it for the client. And you always have to test it with a second computer after you changed something 🤯 Maybe we can get in contact when planning a new script in the forestry sector, so that we don't create scripts that do nearly the same 🙂
Though it may be the only one, so there's no configure for it in your mod. But the Ponsse Scorpian can't open when it comes in an unopen state. Nothing but dirving it is doable. One is mandated to open it prior to doing anything related to cutting tree's.
Love you mod, use is all the time with my rottne h21d. but today i wanted to try on of the ponsse. from the ponsse harvester pack from modhop.. but i had little problem with the tilt head, you have to hold down the key to keep the head tilted. but with the rottne you press it ones and the head tilt down.. both harvester use the mouse wheel press and side ways movement. so i dont understand why. hope i just doing something wrong.
Hi, I'm happy to hear that you like the mod! The problem with that ponsse harvester is the head center of mass. When you press tilt down it releases the pressure that keeps the head up and should go down by it's own weight but as the center of mass is wrong, it doesn't. If you hold the tilt down button you apply force down and that's why it goes down but it goes up when you release it because of the center of mass. You have to use another mod or try adjusting the center of mass of the head component in the harvester xml
Im really liking this mod but could you please update it to allow to set controls for harvester heads that have the grab arms open and close function and the open and close of the feed rollers open and close are on a seperate function? right now i can set controls in your mod to open and close only the grab arms. Please and thankyou.
If you are using joysticks remove the keyboard input bindings because they can cause some conflicts and unfortunately I cannot fix that because it's a base game thing. If that doesn't solve the issue, tell me what harvester are you using so I can test it.
Hi, i love your mod. Fells like in a real Harvester. I just found one small problem, when i want to cut trees for example on Silverrunforet wich are deadwood contracts, it always says, i am not allowed to cut the tree. When i take out your mod then it would work. I don't no if it is possible to fix that mistake. Thank you for this realy cool mod.

Hi, for the joysticks setup you can watch "Input Bindings & Dual Joystick Setup" video on my channel. Holmåkra map has some really nice areas to thin. I would suggest watching real life go pro videos to learn techniques and then practice. If you want you can join the discord server and discuss the this topics with the community, there are other players and real operators there!
Please excuse my ignorance but in as much as I'm 74 year's old. I don't understand most acronym's. I've downloaded and activated your mod and everything seems to work REALLY REALLY WELL. However, the installation or activating has the length set and I understand you provide some preset's which can be changed. I understand how to change a 400 to a 500 and so on the next one. What I don't know is: How to do it while playing the game. What does 1/2 button press or 1/2 double press mean, which I assume also applies to the other's two number's as well.
This is an excellent mod idea! A game changer for me! I am having an issue with controller settings. Once you exit the vehicle and reenter the controls no longer work. Same with coming back to the game save. Is there an update coming to fix this. I had to uninstall the mod. I really would like to use it. Thanks for listening.

Yes, unfortunately scripts are not allowed on consoles and only Giants can implement something like that (and the truth is that since their focus is gameplay and not realism I doubt very much that they are going to do it). I started playing FS on console and then moved to PC because there are so many script mods that completely change the game and make it really fun. You can also set the controls with joysticks and so on.
