    We also have a moustache asymmetry here.

    "Move flap lever to the detent nearest the smallest actual flap position."
    As I could see in the video, the jammed flap was a little bit over 1 degree, maybe 1.5, I'm not sure. By reading what's written on the 737 QRH, I understood that the flap lever should have been moved to position 1 instead of UP. I saw the pilots confirming that the smallest actual position was UP because the working flap was where it was supposed to be (in agree to the flap lever), but I guess the QRH is referring to the jammed flap position, that in this case, the position that would cause less asymmetry would be 1.
    I'm not sure if it was a mistake on the video or my interpretation of the QRH is wrong. Is there anyone more familiar with the 737 that could give a nice simple explanation? Thank you and keep up with the great videos!

    I like how calm you remained even while crashing. Not even a single "shit". If It was me in that seat i'd be muttering profanities the whole time. I guess that's why you're professionals and i'm not.

    After 3 glideslopes warnings it is a mandatory go around. After 2 sink rate warnings it is a mandatory go around. After touchdown pilot flying failed to use the reversers until FO reminded him. Especially bad when landing with little to no flaps on short runway. But thanks for sharing though. Nice video.

    Always love watching your videos. They are the nearest I am ever going to get to the cockpit of an airliner.
    One thing for me is. As I am totally untrained and watch these for entertainment purposes only I don't really know what is happening physically to the aircraft when you trim and push buttons and pull levers, change flap settings etc. Could you one day do a normal take off and landing but show what would be happening to the aircraft ( if it were real )as these changes in the cockpit are made?
    Thanks so much for posting these videos I always look forward to seeing them.
    Best wishes.

    well I am thinking that the alternative settings on flaps covered the situation

    Hey BAA, thanks for this very interesting video.
    I wonder why you didn't extend the flaps with the alternate flaps down switch, as it looked to me that only the LE devices were jammed. Shouldn't it then still be possible to extend the flaps?

    • @BDtomason
      @BDtomason 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      YPOC actually, it were trailing edge flaps that got jammed (one of sides) and we used alternate flaps to provide us with LE devices :)

      BDtomason Ah, now I see, that makes more sense now. Thank you, Tomas!

    Hi, in the first attempt what about crash causes? Just to understand better.. Always speaking about first attempt, did you leave voluntarily GS during the final part of ILS approach? Reference speed no flaps approach?

    May I request a situation in which both, or only one, engine reverser opens in mid flight during cruize?
    Anyway, Great video

      A airlines I think they would crash

    • @andreaferrarini5210
      @andreaferrarini5210 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a possible situation thought, with a procedure...
      It would be very interesting to see, also what are all the steps that must be taken to save the plane

      A airlines Hi, I suggest you take a look at this accident, TAM 402, the reverse opened during takeoff climb, resulting in a crash.

      A airlines and this one... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lauda_Air_Flight_004 Also resulted with a crash. There is no procedure to survive such a problem.

      ***** Maybe thats true, but in case of the Lauda Air 767 a bad idea. Both engines were on reverse....

    I really don't like how you reacted to crashing into the river.
    What I expected from you is to react as if it really happened.
    That is, immediately do the evacuation checklist to cut off the engines and order evacuation.
    I know it's a simulator. It's not a video game though. It's a simulation.

    What those black disks/wheels either side of the Throttles, with a white mark, that spin around when the aircraft is manoeuvring?

      the stab trims. the wheels are for manual operation.
