I have a GH5 II and it’s amazing. Used it for a full day vlog (using AF-C face tracking) and it performed amazingly. Vlog is up on my channel if you’re interested in seeing how it performed. Switching to this for a vlogging/TH-cam camera coming from a Sony A6400.

@@BandH from what I saw on another review this thing still manages to get confused from a human to the horizon. Really a shame. I don’t WANT to spend close to $4000 on a Sony camera when I could keep my existing lenses but I NEED something that is 100% reliable all the time.
non of the Lumix cameras have overheating issues. If the S5 doesnt have issues the GH5mk2 shouldnt too. The GH5 might come, if needed, with a fan similar to the S1
@@clarke.inverary I own the Panasonic HC-X2000 and the GH5. On the HC-X2000 you can punch in to check manual focus. Maybe one can on the GH5M2 as well but either way I like the GH5M2. I'm getting it regardless :)
@@BackusCreativeImaging But that's a camcorder. I think it would be a good feature on the GH5 II as well as lens data in focal length and focusing distance on the camera monitor and instead of the goofy digital filters put some good ones in like background blur...

I can't see the image when I look into the camera. I just bought this. What do I need to press in order to see the image? I have removed the lens cover.
There should be a small button on the left of the viewfinder that's labeled "LVF". That allows switching between the monitor and viewfinder. Press that button and you should be able to see the live view of what you want to take a photo of.

You can definitely wait for the arrival of the Panasonic GH6. However, there isn't much in terms of the exact specifications on it to compare with GH5 II. As soon as the GH6 is announced for pre-order, we should have more information by then.

Panasonic can do whatever they want, they have been selling electronic devices probably before you were born, so I think they might know a bit about sales than you.
Go ahead and get 15 minutes of 4k shooting with overheating issues no cinema 4k 60 with terrible color science, expensive Cameras and Lenses, yeah go ahead to Sony while you can learn the settings in the GH5 mark II and get good auto focus ( or use MANUEL FOCUS) with unlimited recording and no overheating issues with inexpensive lenses.

It might not be worth the upgrade, but it's a BETTER camera than the gh5 that's for sure and the Mark II was actually for New customers not the people who own the the old processor which is in the Original gh5. That want New customers to bypass the Gh5 and buy the Mark II.
In all honesty, it seems absurd and disrespectful to the faithful user of the GH5 to launch this camera. What seems very obvious to me is that most of the new camera's features were just a firmware update, which could be for the GH5. This investment is not justified. And I sincerely hope that Panasonic will provide an update to the GH5 with most of these features, making it not necessary to upgrade to a new camera. Even if this update is paid for, as Panasonic likes to do. Basically what this launch provokes me most is an immense desire to abandon Panasonic and go to other brands that have more respect for its users.

How’s it hold up in Sony for auto focus. I’m moving to Sony from Panny because of their autofocus. My G9 horrendous.

But will the gh5ii and the gh6 be as resistant to overheating as the gh5 is? 4k120fps is great unless it auto turns off after 10 minutes.

What about low pa's filter and low light performance?
The GH5 II does lack an optical low pass filter and the low light performance would be on par with the original GH5.

like most people, i won't be buying it to replace my gh5. there are no big improvements. BUT THE GH6? i will, LIKE OST, BUY IT.

The original GH5 has an older processor that cannot handle all the “updates.”
The Original GH5 has an outdated processor which was redone on the Mark II, so no updates are coming😆😄 so deal with it, Mark II baby!!!
