Burton was absolutely one of the most talented individuals in the world in his day. And he did it all like it was no big deal. And he not only did his music, but everyone else’s as well! And he played what…5 instruments, well ? He really doesn’t have much competition. He had it all, as well as a great sense of humor. 😊
been playing music all my life. it's simply astounding, Burton is one of my faves. He could sing unbelievably good while playing killer piano, boogie woogie, blues, rock n roll, anything. Non-musicians do not understand how hard that is to do!!
i love yu burton i have followed yr music alll my life i am 60 god bless yu your family all the memories the piano is my dream i grew up on it but am now stuck with a guitar still trying aftetr all these years
Am I the only one who sees flashes of Bill Murray in Burton's comedy schtick? I genuinely like Burton Cummings' singing. I also think he could have also been an outstanding comic actor.
Why? Why? has he not recorded this and released it. If he did, it would open a new window of opportunity towards his musical journey. Look out Micheal Buble.
Interestingly, as I've been learning this song, comparing this version to Bobby Darin's, Darin's starts at Bb, does two verses in the same key, then goes up a 1/2 step, every following verse, finishing in Eb. Cummings is in A for two verses, up to C, then D, E, finishing in F... so it's a minor 3rd, full step, full step, 1/2 step. Why do you suppose that would be?
@@stevejeffrey11 but Cummings finishes higher. It's the irregular intervals of key changes that seem odd. Either avoiding keys he doesn't like playing in, or in a hurry to go from low to higher.
Burton has always had an awesome voice, but, sorry, he does this poorly. He needs to stick to rock where his voice shines much better. Buble doesn't have the same quality voice but his is much more suited to traditional pop. I listen to old Guess Who tracks and marvel at Burton's voice, range and control.

I've always put B. Cummings in the top rock vocalists of all time. Great vocals and musical sensibility.
Burton Cummings is the best entertainer! Impersonating so many other people! He loves other artist's music! 👍😎🎹🎼🎶🇨🇦💖✌️
Perfect! Don`t need a big band when you have that angelic voice and can play piano like that. Best version ever! Bobby would be proud.
He's in the same league as Lennon and McCartney. Bravo Mr Burton.
Burton's cooler than ice on this man....awesome!
I would give anything to hear Burton sing If I Was A Carpenter!
Great talent.Good musician and 1 of the greatest rock voices of all time.
Always a favorite of mine!
These are all great, he's funny and good
With his talent and silken voice, all Burton Cumming has ever needed to give a great show is a piano!
The best modern cover of this song. Second only to Bobby Darrin.
Great Song - I Love This & Burton Cummings. Sooo Great
He sings this soooo good!!
Great cover! Didn't think anybody but Bobby could do it. I was wrong.
Love this... thanks
Not many guys could pull this off. The Guess Who were also a great juke box band.
you have any idea how hard it is to change keys 5 times in one song..........this is very good.......

Que hermosa voz burton guauuuuu
This may have been done as a farce but, just as he did with Elvis' "Stuck On You", Burton further proved
just how talented he is.
Impressive

anyone else think of mac tonight from mcdonalds when hearing this?

what year?
This sounds so much like "Don't You Want Me" from Rockin. This video th-cam.com/video/G25tmOq6Z3M/w-d-xo.html wins bizarre points at about 1:22

lower voice maybe, Burton is around a baritone ?

Because he can.
It only works with a big band

Oh come on, the guy whose first hits were These Eyes, Laughing, and Undun should stick to rock?
Poorly???
WT????
