I think Chapo is on the right track here in explaining why libs adore RBG, and it's because she is exactly like them. She didn't really accomplish anything, instead most often being known for her dissenting opinions. She also didn't really stand up for the implementation of liberal policies or even the striking down of reactionary ones, She just appeared as though she was. Indeed, there were many decisions where she sided with the conservative side of the court quite readily. The only thing she really stood for was women's rights and abortion rights, but only in the fractional, ineffectual way that liberal politicians do. And yet, her last choices on this earth were to ensure that the justices that succeeded her formed a court that is ready and happy to completely eviscerate abortion rights. RBG is basically the Hillary Clinton of Supreme Court Justices, so much time in power, but having absolutely nothing to show for it. The only difference is that Clinton cared more about her brand than herself, whereas RBG was just selfish.
Feinstein apparently struggles to remember meetings she just left. She doesn't seem to forget that Congress gives her free healthcare while she works to deny others that same privilege, though.

The cursest of images This trend of turning narcissistic, self-serving politicians into celebrities (even for decent folks like AOC) is obscene. It’s like people actually believe these scoundrels are better than them. It’s like the remnants of cult behavior of the past.
I think she just figured Hillary would win for sure and REALLY loved the idea of the first woman president appointing her replacement. She didn't even contemplate that it wasn't guaranteed that Hillary would win which means she made a really bad judgement call (no pun intended.) So where she went wrong here is first that she was excited about Hillary Clinton which is just pathetic. And second, she totally misread the country by assuming that a Republican can't win. And combining those two things, it's completely delusional and detached from reality to not understand just how unpopular Hillary Clinton is and why her as the nominee actually INCREASED the odds of a Republican win.
I lost a friend for saying a friend of mine (no, not Chapo) thought the exact same thing. She blocked me and said I should be grateful for what she's done for us (She's Scottish and by "us" she meant the LGBTQ+)

God damn. This was so good
Also RBG didn't think abortion would ever become legal in the U.S. both before and after she became a supreme Court Justice.
Neoliberals and neocons have one thing in common: the propensity to people worship. Policy over persona. This is what they don't get.
Makes sense. Most of those people are well-off so politics is just a popularity contest and not life or death.
