In today's video, I take my BMW E92 to safelight auto repair to get my cracked front windshield replaced. I've always heard a mix of good and bad about this company and wanted to show you exactly what you can expect if you're in the same situation I was in.

9:04 its not about using your head. i change windscreens for a living in the UK and it is policy that any tape the customer puts onto a car has to be taken off by the customer. this is because we dont want to be responsible for any paint stripping off while ripping any tape off that a customer put on there. and that "weather seal" doesnt seal off any water. that is platic trim that makes the finish look cleaner. its the glue/bond that stops water from getting into the car

not removing the tape for liability reasons makes sense to me, however the front windshield is already leaking water from where the seal on the right side is. thanks for your input though!

well this means they did not seal the windscreen with the bond properly. you can take the car back and get it redone as most companies give lifetime leak warranty@@IzzyE9X

Safelite didn't offer me a thermal windshield.... How did you get it? Do you have to ask specifically or was there an option on the website?

@@CheezWhiz360 if you select their highest package windshield, it comes with the thermal coating. It should say it in the product description as well

i have a 2004 E46 325xi for 20 years and it runs really really great i replace windshield for $200 and had 3M plastic film put on the windshield and i put 20% on the top and no more rock chips and i stay cool all summer long

It’s super common! the defroster makes cracks spread quickly

I haven’t asked, but I don’t imagine so because the windshield usually breaks upon removal.
