Set in 2010, the third installment of Fargo centers on “Emmit Stussy” and his slightly younger brother “Ray” (Ewan McGregor in dual roles).
Emmit, the “Parking Lot King of Minnesota,” is a handsome, self-made real estate mogul with a perfect family - a real American success story. His slightly younger brother Ray is more of a cautionary tale. Wilted from a lifetime of living in Emmit’s shadow, Ray is a balding, pot-bellied parole officer with a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt - and he blames his brother.
The only bright spot in Ray’s life is the love of a not-so-good woman, “Nikki Swango” (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), one of his parolees. Nikki has brains, beauty and a deep and abiding passion for competitive bridge. She decides to help Ray turn his fortunes around, by essentially stealing back his good karma. Unsurprisingly, things quickly get out of hand and petty theft leads to murder.

Nobody can tell a story like Noah Hawley. His characters are unforgettable and he casts each one superbly.
I agree with his goal of not writing "entertainment".
Each season of Fargo has been more like a chess game (or bridge game) instead of the vast majority of series that are more like tic tac toe.
Loved season 3. Loved the cast. I want more.
mollydtt I would agree, but..... the last few minutes of Episode 10 is taken directly from Lord of War. A very disappointing end to the season.
Greg Cunningham It could just be an originality problem. unless he says Lord of War of an inspiration there's no way to tell if he actually "stole" the ending.
This man will leave a mark in history before he's done.

Weakest season, IMO. Still better than 95% of garbage on tv, though! Hopefully Noah will write more episodes in season 4, he's the best writer of them all!
What a fucking disappointment of a season
What did you dislike about it so much? It was actually my favorite of the three seasons.
