    I had rust under windshield , so my bodyshop repaired the rust and painted panel finally , and said not to put cavity wax in this area , or else the silicone that holds the windshield will fail to get hold of windshield with the body panel , Was the bodyshop right ?

      could be due to the way water sheds (drains) off your windshield. if you put cavity wax under the area, it could allow water to pool up and that would deteriorate the windshield sealant and cause future issues. just a thought.

      Yes, they were right. Because before putting the silicone glue, they have to put down a glue primer, i dont think the primer would mix well with cavity wax

      it's not going to help if rust is already started.

      @@Andrewlone174 That's not necessarily true. Rust won't continue to form in the absence of moisture. If the wax adequately prevents moisture from getting to the rust, it will definitely help, even if not permanently.

      @@802Garage i have rust on my classic mini its it a really tight spot that I could only sand by hand so will probably not get it all sanded out. Do you recommend sanding as much of it as possible and then wax oil it our should I prime undercoat and paint it then wax oil it ?

    • @802Garage
      @802Garage 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mr90s48 I would sand it as much as possible, make sure you blow it out and clean it out thoroughly, apply rust converter like the sprays or the containers you put on with a brush, and then I would either apply some primer as well or go straight to the cavity wax. If you want to be extra sure no more rust will get in there I would also apply some form of oily undercoating product like Woolwax or Fluid Film.

      @3MCollision  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Our standard operating procedure calls for 3 coats of Cavity Wax to completely cover internal cavities and provide ultimate corrosion protection for the vehicle. By following the best practices outlined in this standard operating procedure, it should help ensure performance for the life of the vehicle.

    Can I apply this before I insert the automotive flexiable foam?

    • @tkskates
      @tkskates 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did seal the cavity with rust bullet but to make sure I got it all I was going to use cavity wax before the foam

    • @3MCollision
      @3MCollision  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Travis. The foam should be applied before the paint process and Cavity Wax Plus 08852 should be applied during reassembly. Hope this helps!

    Nobody thought it would be a good idea to remove the wheel house clips from the edge of the fender? Lol
