Many many years ago I wrote a piece for erhu, confident that I would find a nice library. I ended up hiring a player to record remotely, wich was a whole different challenge since it isn't a common instrument, and I was young and didn't really know where to look. So I am very pleased to see this!!
This sounds so amazing! I will buy it, but not now. At the moment I'm still busy with other instruments from ample sound. I need to learn how to play it first. Good video!
Great video. I can’t seem to get it setup and Amplesound won’t respond to my request for help. I do have an Erhu vst in Kontakt 7 and will have to make do with that.
Oh man i was looking for a convincing erhu vst ^^ i was looking at the Sonuscore Erhu&Esraj which has a legato patch with different articulation and bowing, but reviews are surprisingly hard to find i don't know if you have an opinion about it ^^ ?
Luckily they start off at a more affordable price range than most instruments. Good starter erhus can be $100-200. The main investment though is your time. It can take people weeks to get consistent sounding notes on it, and the articulations are another layer of difficulty too. Worth a shot though. I'm saving up for one rn
DO NOT BUY ANY PLUGINS FROM AMPLE SOUNS. Here is why... I have several plugins from this company. Recently 3 of them stopped working, complaining the license is no active. On the website there is no contact information of any kind. I am trying contact the developer but there is no way to do this. They only care about initial payment, then you are 100% on your own. Out of 10 I not have 3 products I cannot use. Absolute waste of money.

Thank You Zach. This was a very helpful review of the Amplesound China Erhu. It sounds wonderful.
Awesome tutorial, Zach. Just got the Erhu and Dadi, excited to dig into both of them!
