Perfect video! I just picked up a used 20” McLane as well and need to maintenance it just like you did. Also picking up the RR grooved roller and grass catcher cover!
Nice video. That sea foam really helps out! Every time I do something nice to my old Snapper, like regular maintenance, something ends up breaking. Lol.
Awesome man. I did the same thing to mine. Only additional thing I did was to go ahead and replace the fuel tank (lots of rust) and replace the carburetor with new pickup tube. Runs like a champ now! It wasn’t very expensive either. Good luck with it and keep up the good work. Later my Corpus bro 👍🏻
@@donslawns1 heck yeah man. The tank was $89, I also replaced the drive belt $8 and the non-drive wheels in the rear. All ordered off good ole Amazon. I’ve got parts numbers and old orders you can refer to if you need any of the parts I replaced. Btw, How the heck did your palms survive???
@@sotexlawn my Pygmy date palms died, and I have no idea how my Mexican fan palms made it. Only thing I can guess is I had extra strong roots in place and fronds to spare!
@@donslawns1 Thanks man! I realized though two of the nuts to hold down the engine is missing. I'm not sure if the rest of the bolts/nuts are OEM. I know I can use any bolt/nut that fits but would you happen to know the part number or serial number that'd be great.
So what’s with the front and rear oil fill ports? My Tru Cuts Briggs engine has front and rear oil fills as well. Do you just always re-fill from the front and use the rear one as a “secondary check” to make sure you’ve got enough oil in it?
Yeah- I just double check them both to make sure they’re fairly even. I did a predator swap now, and there’s a big improvement in the mowing experience. 👍🏼

I enjoy the McLane for its simplicity!
New video HYPE, LOL that intro though
My daughter is my biggest fan!
Great video, subbed! Thanks Don.
Rear oil plug is for draining. Front is to fill to to top
Can't wait to see it in action bro.
Thanks dude!!

I can relate!! Lol. It’s what makes the old mowers so fun... 😅

That’s great dude! I ended up replacing my carb, $17. 😂
How much was your fuel tank? I’m considering doing the same thing down the road.. We will have to meet up sometime!

Hey, man thanks to your videos I was able to purchase a used 25inch McLane for $200 + the grass catcher.
Nice!!! That’s frigging awesome!! 💪🏻 Welcome to the mclane gang!

@@ShrimpCracka I’d google the serial number and see if you can locate the parts diagram for your model!
@@donslawns1 found it thanks, but looks like they dont make the exact same bolts anymore. im going to have to go with something "close enough"
@@ShrimpCracka I’ve replaced a couple of bolts/screws the same way- “close enough”
Great video!! Just what i was looking for! Just picked up a 20" mclane owner said i need new filter, oil change. Thx again subbd
Thank you, hope that new mclane is treating you right! Make sure you tighten your bolts along the way!
@@donslawns1 thx you!!
Can’t wait to see if you can see a difference between the McLane and the manual.
The McLane makes a huge difference compared to my manual mower!!! 🤙🏼
@@donslawns1 Hey hey , that is blasphemy lol :)
@@Striperman I mowed the other day and didn’t sweat! 😅
@@donslawns1 nice :)
🌞Great video! You are ready for the season!!👍😎⛳
Thanks Sunny! I’m excited to get it going, gonna be a hard year- but excited nonetheless!
Would the spark plug gap be the same for a 2014 20in Mclane?
I believe so!
Hello, what type of spark plug it takes?

Is there a reference for part #’s? Having a terrible time finding a spark plug for my model Mcclane. Thanks
I searched my Briggs & Stratton model number and found a parts diagram for it. Honestly just depends on which motor is on your mclane!
How would I know what year is my mclane lawn mower i bougjt at Craig list?
Your best option is to search the model or serial number on the motor!
Good stuff, brotha! Looking forward to see that thing action! Perfect timing for it! 😎
Thanks my dude!! Looking forward to a strong turf season!!
Where did you get the roller from ?
Reelrollers.com they have great customer service also!
Oil it's easier if you buy Briggs and Stratton oil vacuum way easier
Manual transfer pump from harbor freight works good too. 👍🏼
