---- About the Pattern ----
The Botanical Japanese Knot Bag is a handy color block purse that can be used year-round! It features the beautiful knit stitch and a leaf applique charm. This project is made completely in one piece, requiring sewing only for one end of the straps. Its size can easily be adjusted and customized.
This practical project looks great with solid colors, variegated yarn, or self-striping yarn. It is recommended to use a yarn that does not stretch, such as 100% cotton yarn. If desired, you may add a cloth lining in the bag or to the underside of the straps to add durability.
This pouch is perfect for kids, adults, teachers, friends, parents, and more! Sell them at craft fairs or make them as gifts for birthdays or holidays.
The PDF pattern includes photo references, full written instructions, and video tutorial links.

Oh this is just the best knot bag video, just what I wanted!!! I am in the middle of making it and am so excited with the results that I just had to stop and say "Thank you" 🙂 All I had in my yarn stash was 4 weight cotton but it's working up just fine and the measurements are pretty close to the same I'm sure. Anyhow I'm loving it AND your tutorials; so easy, to the point, lovely and understandable; plus GREAT Projects! Love it all, so glad I found you and hitting the subscribe button! PS I used a 5mm hook for the 4 weight yarn.
WOW! So glad you like it! Thank you so much for this amazing feedback. It's really encouraging for me to read as a creator!!
Playing yarn chicken!! I hadn't heard this expression before, but I needed no explanation as to the definition 😂😂😂 Thanks for another great tutorial!! Love to you and your family!
Hahaha thanks! I learned that expression only after I started crocheting! So glad you like this tutorial, hope you get to make it sometime!
Hi, thank you for the tutorial. Can i know the measurement at row 14? Just want to the base before start sc in row 15 to row 24. Thank you
This is so beautiful and cute! I love the style. I’m definitely going to try to make one once I get the yarn (and patience haha!)♥︎
Aww thanks so much! Hope yo'ull have fun making it when you get to it! :)
Very nice bag. Thanks for sharing😀Do you think I can use raffia yarn instead of cotton yarn?
Glad you like it! If the raffia yarn you have is non-stretchy, I think it should be able to work great too!
If I only had medium weight… Could you use medium weight yarn? And if so what size hook would I use with that?
You can try medium weight yarn, though that'll end up smaller as the finished size than mine! You can try using a 5mm hook.
L😊
Can you double a medium weight yarn? What hook size should be used?
You can try that! Hook size varies from person to person due to tension, but I'd say a 6mm seems about right for me when I double-strand medium weight yanr.
i used a 5mm hook, so would increasing the size of the base then require me to alter other parts of the project?
Cannot find 100% cotton yarn bulky 5 for this project 😢
You can use 100% cotton in other weights! If you use DK yarn for instance, you can hold it double-stranded.
Has anyone made this with a much longer strap to go over the shoulder? If yes, did it function well? Thank you.
Aww that's great to hear! Good job!!!
Porfavor poner subtítulos en español o números en la pantalla gracias gracias 🙏
Hi, I wish I could put on subtitles in Spanish but I don't have the option to do automatic subtitles in Spanish, unfortunately! I would need to input it myself but I do not know the crochet terminology in Spanish. Sorry about that!
❤
My yarn isnt able to go through the V :((
Thank you
Absolutely!
